Sadly I never got into Maplestory as much as I should have. Back in 2006 I played for about a week and a half but could never do it. I wanted to go back and play it now, but seeing all this hate and people talking about how much better old Maple was, I don't think I want to anymore. I remember it having this feeling of peacefulness, no matter where I was I always felt it. Now I don't think I'll feel it. It's a shame, really. R.I.P MAPLESTORY!

I have been playing sence Beta and stopped around when big bang hit... even a little before the big bang it was starting to get weird...Original Maple will always be my favorite game. I have never been able to find a game that could make me have this much emotion. i no thats weird to say you have emotion towards a game but when i played this game it was one of the best times i had in my life because all my friends played... For all of you who hate the new Maplestory, don't go to servers like Scania, go to the empty ones, that's where all the cool maplers are, the ones who don't play for nostalgia, but for fun. Maplestory didn't replace anything, it just rebuild it for better experiences. I lost my level 150 Spearman, right now I am rebuilding him, only 120 more levels to go before I can relieve my former non NX filled glory.

i was playing counter strike on the original xbox that was made before the 360 version, my sister came in, i stopped playing, we all played maplestory, friends came over, played with us, we talkes, chatted, and just played the childhood game that brought back all of those memories

So many great memories of this game. I still come back to the game every now and then to see how it's holding up, which just brings back of my nooby days. Before getting 100k meant you were the richest guy in your group of friends, finding an equip even if wasn't for your class still made you jump for joy, taking months just to make it to second job, exploring the unknown world and long nights pqing and making a bunch of friends along the way... I miss it all...

@MeepingSade Well there was always a large number of douche bags in maple, but they were all fun to be around because they were also SOCIALLY INVITING, which is what the game has lost. People used to talk to each other all the time, that's how I met my many friends, just random "hi"'s. But these days you'd have to physically assault someone in Maple Story to get them to talk to you if you're not in their clan or social circle.
@narcosist I didnt have real life friends in MS. But I met many people who i dont know, i had a lot of fun with them. While we grow up, we lose interest slowly, sad. Isnt it?
reminds of me playing for the first time and i was coufesd to what to do i just keep dying by a lvl 40 clock monster than a guy show me what to do i got soo much fun than i got to lvl 50 in 2 month than i got some new freinds and we like did a lvl 67 boss hunt it was 3 freinds man good times

Oh man.... I remember launching Maplestory for the first time and just sitting on the login screen listening to this music... I thought it sounded so... epic, in the real sense of the word. It made me apprehensive and excited to play.
I do love the Old Maplestory though, and I feel the nostalgia. But, I accept the change. Now, it has gotten more spice than ever before. A story unfolds following the reign of the most powerful boss, and the sequence of events that follows. Because of this, I feel I have a new purpose of playing this game, instead of just leveling up, earn money, and make friends. :)
A real Mapler doesn't quit, even with all the Chaos, Big Bang, Legend. A real Mapler treaures the past and the present. If you give up Maple, it's like washing your hard earned money down the drain. Take note Maplestory is an ever-changing game. No game remains the same. You may like the old Maplestory, but also treasure the changes. As an old player of Maple, I've seen the Maple World grow throughout the years. It's kinda like watching your child grow up. Happiness is at the beginning... then when they start to mature you get all sad they'll leave you. Ah in 2006 maplestory was awesome, where if you were 20 you were pro and 40 you were god :) now ms is g@ys game in world (except the songs which ill will be awesome untill i turn fat *never*)
Back then, whenever there was a new patch that includes new maps, monsters, items etc., I would be so excited. However, a new patch last time would always take around a month or so but I still looked forward to it.
Unfortunately, for the present MapleStory, no matter how many new/awesome/cool stuffs are released, I will not be so amazed rather than last time...
Things started to change as time progresses. Many new maps, along with new and stronger bosses and monsters, were introduced. 4th Job was introduced in MapleSea in 2008 and defeating Zakum was no longer a big deal as Horntail was released, deemed as the strongest boss yet.
The MapleStory that i knew of has changed so much, it's just so different from the present MapleStory. Even if i join back, the feeling is just different and will never be the same again. :'(
I remembered that any Mapler that was at least 3rd Job was considered a "pro" and that Zakum , no doubt, was the strongest boss of that time.
Friends, I know that Maplestory is different now than when it was created. True, everyone was friends and very eager to help others back before Nexon took over. But it is not as different as you may believe it is. I will not pretend that there are more no-lives and competitive people now, but there are still plenty of people always ready to help. Just give it a try, you might still like it :)

I remember playing this during late 2006, when henesys was alive. I remember going to mayas house and seeing mobs of people. Now i go back to that same server, and there's no one there. All the henehoes aren't the same. This song just makes me think of all the fun times socializing instead of grinding my butt off to be accepted. Maplestory just isn't the same anymore.

No one spends there whole life playing MapleStory (Except their staff I think). I think MapleStory has done such a good job about leveling things. You can experience more than one class before you die.
What I meant is, that leveling wasn't everything, and maplestory was way more challenging, that is what I meant.
And I'm not saying maplestory is fucked up from other people's view, I'm saying it's fucked up for people like me who know the old maple and we don't like it as it is now, it doesn't mean it sucks as a game, just sucks as maplestory (:
@DinTeX94 I agree that leveling isn't everything. I'm an primary example here. After my 3rd job, my Aran just goes around hanging out with ppl. I don't go grind or pq to level up, but I'm gonna be there available for ppl to come in when they need help. Also, I'm making potions after the Crafting update, and do all of Silent Crusade quests after Chaos. Traveling and such. How can MapleStory suck now?
I don't know why but I feel kind of offended when u say it sucks since I'm a part of it >:(.

All your old friends from years back, the nostalgic maps, you drift away from your friendships of old maple, back when there was hardly any douchebags in maple? Yeah, I miss those days. @MeepingSade Well there was always a large number of douche bags in maple, but they were all fun to be around because they were also SOCIALLY INVITING, which is what the game has lost. People used to talk to each other all the time, that's how I met my many friends, just random "hi"'s. But these days you'd have to physically assault someone in Maple Story to get them to talk to you if you're not in their clan or social circle.

Oh man.... I remember launching Maplestory for the first time and just sitting on the login screen listening to this music... I thought it sounded so... epic, in the real sense of the word. It made me apprehensive and excited to play.

I do love the Old Maplestory though, and I feel the nostalgia. But, I accept the change. Now, it has gotten more spice than ever before. A story unfolds following the reign of the most powerful boss, and the sequence of events that follows. Because of this, I feel I have a new purpose of playing this game, instead of just leveling up, earn money, and make friends. :)

A real Mapler doesn't quit, even with all the Chaos, Big Bang, Legend. A real Mapler treaures the past and the present. If you give up Maple, it's like washing your hard earned money down the drain. Take note Maplestory is an ever-changing game. No game remains the same. You may like the old Maplestory, but also treasure the changes. If the old Maplestory remains, what makes of those who want changes?

Everyone misses and feels nostalgia for the old maple.
As an old player of Maple, I've seen the Maple World grow throughout the years. It's kinda like watching your child grow up. Back then, whenever there was a new patch that includes new maps, monsters, items etc., I would be so excited. However, a new patch last time would always take around a month or so but I still looked forward to it.
Unfortunately, for the present MapleStory, no matter how many new/awesome/cool stuffs are released, I will not be so amazed rather than last time...

Things started to change as time progresses. Many new maps, along with new and stronger bosses and monsters, were introduced. 4th Job was introduced in MapleSea in 2008 and defeating Zakum was no longer a big deal as Horntail was released, deemed as the strongest boss yet.

I played MapleSea from 2007 to 2010.
The MapleStory that i knew of has changed so much, it's just so different from the present MapleStory. Even if i join back, the feeling is just different and will never be the same again. :'(
I remembered that any Mapler that was at least 3rd Job was considered a "pro" and that Zakum , no doubt, was the strongest boss of that time.

Friends, I know that Maplestory is different now than when it was created. True, everyone was friends and very eager to help others back before Nexon took over. But it is not as different as you may believe it is. I will not pretend that there are more no-lives and competitive people now, but there are still plenty of people always ready to help. Just give it a try, you might still like it :)

People cant even come and meet new people from visiting Mano anymore....AND BOB!!! where is he!?!?!? ._. I remember playing this game when I was in elementary school..
Now I'm in high a year from graduation and this brings back a lot, a lot of memories.
I remember the days when people had all these " XXX" and numbers in their names.
Everybody hanging out at maya's house, people were actually willing to help each other out.. the days when my buddy list was actually a reasonable length...
but now I have no friends, nobody in this game. The old days, I remember forever <3. My childhood, my story

I remember playing this during late 2006, when henesys was alive. I remember going to mayas house and seeing mobs of people. Now i go back to that same server, and there's no one there. All the henehoes aren't the same. This song just makes me think of all the fun times socializing instead of grinding my butt off to be accepted. Maplestory just isn't the same anymore.

I remember when playing in 2005, I got to level 15 in like half a year haha.
For me it was all about meeting new people, not only killing mobs, for me, that is what maplestory is all about...
I remember sitting everyday with my friends in that little house at Henesys, with my in-game wife, it was so awesome.
No one really gave a shit about damage, everybody were just playing, making friends, if you were level 30 you were god haha...

Can you imagine when you will go to Levle 200 if half a year you go to level 15 (or for some one active, 30)?
No one spends there whole life playing MapleStory (Except their staff I think). I think MapleStory has done such a good job about leveling things. You can experience more than one class before you die.

@DinTeX94 I agree that leveling isn't everything. I'm an primary example here. After my 3rd job, my Aran just goes around hanging out with ppl. I don't go grind or pq to level up, but I'm gonna be there available for ppl to come in when they need help. Also, I'm making potions after the Crafting update, and do all of Silent Crusade quests after Chaos. Traveling and such. How can MapleStory suck now?
I don't know why but I feel kind of offended when u say it sucks since I'm a part of it >:(.
