I found this for the megadrive on cart boxed with manual in great nick for £5.00 a few weeks ago in a flea market along with Galaxy Force 2 and another game I cant remember. LOVE 16-bit consoles!
I have this on the Sonic Collection for the Gamecube. I have not given it a play as I am not the greatest pinball fan to be honest but after seeing this I think I will be giving it a spin! Really impressed with it. Great vid mate.
Framerate issues? I could try this out on my NTSC Jap Megadrive. Got the game as well. Check out the differences. It may be that 50Hz PAL screws up the gameplay just a tad.
My one complaint about this is that it resets like any other pinball when you loose your ball. But, with the platform elements that makes it very difficult to continue. Like when you got the chaos emerald there. When he dies its like you never got the emerald.
The flipper button is the same button that makes him jump.
My computer went bang twice today, lol. Just shut itself off. Did it yesterday too. I changed the power supply to give it a little more juice. I don't think it liked running my four drives & the fan all day, haha. Seems okay so far. Not looking forward to sleeping tonight though. So hot!
Anyway, I love this game. Pretty satisfying getting to the other tables. I bought it on the VC for my Wii & really liked it.
Yep Bolton has been like an microwave too. Thank god it's cooling down a bit now. My den/cinema room where I have all my gaming kit is still too warm with the fans on full belt, throw in some gold and silver tickets and it would be just like The Crystal Maze lol.
Anyway Sonic Pinball, I have friends who hate it but I love it, class game.
Y'know, for the majority of this video, esp. the first half of it, I thought I was watching a different player. Not only were you actually surviving, you were making progress as well. You're a natural!!! :D
Then I got a comforting feeling just after 7 mins in when you finally lost it and I thought: "ah, that's the Steve I know" .:P
I LOVED this game back in the day, beat it numerous times. :)
I quite like this game. I know what you mean about the sluggish feel. There are better pinball games on the Mega Drive but this is still fun.
Do you get random subscribers from music channels or random non-gaming channels? It seems like they just subscribed for self-promotion (I guess they hoped you would sub back).
I can understand the music ones, as I have 30 or so tunes of my own on this channel, so maybe they're drawn by that. But also lots of people just looking for a return sub, who obviously don't get one.
2000 sounds like an impressive number, but the truth is, barely a quarter of those actually watch my vids.
I personally thought this was a load of *ahem* balls. I much prefer Dragon's Fury (Devil Crash)...... in fact, I even prefer Dino Land for the Megadrive. This one.. hmm.. too confusing for my taste.
@mathowlett This is definitely confusing, but I think I like it coz I don't really view it as a pinball game. It's more of a fast moving colourful noisy ...umm... thing :)
Pending congrats on the 2000 subs Steve, well deserved. With regards to pinball, it seems every time I play it I find the dead ball slot more times than the flipper... This version looks fun tho.
I have this on my dingoo, I did not know you could escape the sea monster lol Ohh, first by the way lol (actually, by the time I press post I might be second lol as I don't press post until I've finished watching lol)
Well done on the potential 2000 subs dude! It ain't easy.
Also, I know this game wasn't a popular spin off, but it's better than most of his games today. I actually rather enjoy it, and that music is VERY thumpin'. Good video dude.

I love hearing what you have to say about it.
"Playing Naked, smacking the Hedgehog..."
I think I might just have had an embolism....

Go into the options menu on this game, contains the worst music in video game history.

LOL the bit when you said 'bollocks', you're actually meant to be going on the carts along the track to get the Chaos Emeralds, the blue things.
TheVideoGameJunkie99 1 year ago
@TheVideoGameJunkie99 you gotta get three of them to unlock the boss room and advance to the next level

@UKRetroGames I'm undecided about Sonic R, but that 3D Flicky thing is all wrong.
I like this, but I think just as I don't really consider it a real pinball game, I don't really consider it a real Sonic game either.
It's just loud, fast, and quite good fun :)
And LOL @ the first bit of your comment :P
SteveBenway 1 year ago
@SteveBenway Yeah, Even when I was little I knew there was something wrong with that Flicky's Island game but I quite enjoyed Sonic R.

@AtsumaKarin Natural my arse :P
It's just so forgiving that you can sit there stabbing randomly at one button and not die... which when you play like I do, is very pleasing :D

@SteveBenway nope, you are correct. About 1/4 is what I'd estimate is your usual regular viewer count, actually. :)

that's a hard game
dde12321 1 year ago
@dde12321 I couldn't really tell. Maybe it's hard to get to higher levels, but in terms of staying alive, I find it very forgiving.

@SteveBenway Level 4 is VERY challenging, even when you know what you're doing.

@roundtr1p My first impressions when I played it on the GBA weren't great, but it grew on me. Especially when I turned the volume up.

You have to try really hard to lose the ball / hedgehog on this. It's very forgiving.
