  • MY LOVELY CAR !!!! :-*

  • New cars love Death Valley...

  • What a COOL Car...

i Like this Car so much!!!!

    how much this cost???

  • GP HYUNDAI

  • american market is down all the way. i'm greek (i study in canada) and the cars here in canada with the bigest resale value are always the german (vw-bmw-mercedes) followed by japanese and asian in general... the easiest car to buy here is an american. they give them away so cheap... nothing to offer bad quality, you don't even know if they will be in the market in a few years

  • according to this video the car does 0-60MPH in 6.5 seconds. Assuming this means the 3.8L V6 with 306 HP, I think its a bit on the slow side. I mean 306 HP isn't low, it should be a second faster. Maybe it's slower due to the fact that it only has 266 lb/ft of torque. I still think its a very nice car, should be a bit faster though.

  • my Impala SS is 01 seconds faster and probably even costs less. I thought Hyundai made this in a V8 sedan!?

  • What year SS? if it's the newest one I'm pretty sure you do it a whole second faster and you actually aren't cheaper. They do make it in a V8 sedan also. The V8 Sedan hit 60 is 5.5 seconds, and is rear wheel drive, unlike the Impala. I'm not going to look it up right now but I'm more than sure the new SS is equal to that 5.5 run. Either way, they are both very different cars that deserve respect for what they are. I do believe the Impala needs a few more tweaks before its perfect though.

  • It's a 2008 SS.

    The 09 Genesis V8 will be $40 000 to 45 000 CDN I am told. You can buy a 2009 Impala SS brand new for $31 000 with 0% financing I think (!?)

The Impala isn't perfect but neither is the Genesis. They were going to perfect the Impala and make it rear wheel drive but the union's and lazy workers killed that plan.

The Impala SS and the Genesis are both sport sedans with V8 engines. I believe they are in the same vehicle class! (?)

  • I presume you are correct. They are in the same class. It's just that the Genesis is setup to compete with the 5 series and such, heck, they even have the exact same transmission. The Impala is not a competitor. The Cadillac STS is a better fit. The Impala is a Full size car, competing with the Maxima and such. It's not a luxury car. I do like the Impala though, sounds pretty good and moves nicely.

  • they managed to do a 5.5 0-60mph in a race with a 370z a mustang and the coupe 3.8, it's on youtube.

  • The Impala isn't considered a LUXURY sedan. It is just a sedan. The SS trim doesn't change anything either, except performance.

The V8 Genesis is made to compete with the BMW 550i, Lexus GS460, Jaguar XF, Audi A6, Acura RL and Mercedes E550.

The next class up would be the Cadillac CTS V, Audi RS4, BMW M3, Lexus IS F, Mercedes C63 AMG and Jaguar XF (S).

The first class are luxury sport sedans and the 2nd class are even faster luxury sport sedans!

Faster is better. Class is unimportant, IMO.

  • why is your comment a response to me? If you read what I wrote to this guy you will see that you are simply underlining my statements.

  • considering this car is luxury, and the impala is not...that's like comparing a lexus with a camaro...doesn't work out too well

  • your missing my point, akotr.

the Impala LTZ or SS (trims), or any Buick for that matter, is far more luxurious than the Genesis.

Just because Hyundai called it a "luxury" sedan doesn't make it one! Its just more useless Asian garbage like all their made for Mexican family automobiles. Don't take my word for it, look inside one!

It will probably sell well though because a lot of trained monkeys will say, OMG, OMG, a luxury sedan I can afford! But it is just another 4 door Hyundai tub.

  • that's ironic and that shows how low you are for bringing racial stereotypes into this argument. FYI about 5 different independent car magazines said the interior of the Genesis sedan was equally luxurious to the Lexus GS, which has up to this post has exceeded Mercedes as the standard of luxury. Just because a car is from Asia does not mean it's garbage...after all Asian cars are internationally accepted while domestics are laughed at...odd...Only Americans like American cars.

  • I'm Canadian but I still prefer American cars...

Five different "Independent" automobile magazines!? And you have read them all?

You don't give me much credit, do you, akrot?

  • the great thing about the internet is you don't have to read them all. You go on one car website, they'll give you all the magazines that praise it. No much praise for domestic cars these days because just like their bank accounts, they're laughable. Reliability issues, cost vs. maintenance issues, and the list goes on. It's already been proven by the Japanese, smaller engines out perform bigger ones.

  • i would appreciate the link, aktor...

the bank accounts of the domestic automobile manufactures is entirely the fault of the lazy north American workers, the unions and the mobsters who run them. it has nothing to do with the quality of the vehicles. Even Germany had to give Mercedes a 11 billion euro bail out.

as for reliability, the top two contenders three years running have been Jaguar and Buick neither of which are produced in Asia.

  • do what i did and do the search on youtube. Mercedes is owned by Daimler-Chrysler (enough said), and the quality of vehicles has nothing to do with unions...they're just poorly built and if you worked a dangerous job you'd want to be part of a union too, so don't bash Union workers, and you're wrong about Jaguar and Buick, the top reliable vehicles based on 10 standards was won by Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, then Jaguar, and then Nissan...wow 3 japanese, one german, one British. No Domestics hmm.

  • I have a dangerous job. Just buy good insurance. It is cheaper than union fees.

J.D. Power and Associates Reports: Buick and Jaguar Tie to Rank Highest for Vehicle Dependability, 2009.

J.D. Power does not rely on the automotive industry for any of it's revenue!

Studies from car magazines are bias! These magazines get their revenue from ads placed by the automobile companies. What they say about a vehicle is directly proportionate to the amount of $ spent by the auto maker.

    Don't be naive.

  • you mean the same JD Power and Associates that said the Ford Explorer was the safest car of its class the same year they found out its the second easiest car to flip over? Lastly, Union dues are between $20-$45 depending career...average "good" health insurance for an individual is about $90 for a PPO...and the Union protects workers from the "at-will" employment bullshit, and also prevents companies from having too much power over the employees. If you worked for one you'd know.

  • Most "American cars" are assembled in Canada anyway.

  • We are even lazier in Canada plus we have access to stronger beer and some of the best pot in the world!

    I gotta go, pizzas here!

  • @puffrooster long live Canada!

  • @elmalacopa You said it bro...

  • actually they showed both the v6 and the 2.0 model and they're saying the 2.0 model is the one that goes 0-100 kph which is actually a little over 60 mph in 6.5 seconds which for a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine with 210 hp...that's about right. according to car & driver the 3.8 L actually had a better 0-60 time than the g37 at either a high 4, or low 5...i've seen different reviews.

  • the 3.8L V6 according to edmunds and car & driver does 0-60 in 5.5 seconds the 2.0L inline 4 does around 6.5.

  • whats written on bottom right is in korean

  • drooling!!!

  • This is the new Tiburon right? ha

  • kind of but not really.

hyundai scrapped their "upgraded tiburon" and moved to this.

this car is rear wheel drive and has a much larger engine than the tiburon.

  • if porsche made this car, you all would be dribbling on your keyboards

  • nah

  • i wouldnt drive onto a dessert with a hyundai..even with a 10year/100,000 miles warranty...

  • not bad for Hyundai

  • Hope these cars go on sale in the US soon.Way hotter than my tibby.

  • It's got better specs, but my 07 Tib is much nicer looking.

  • please tell me if you know this song? PLEASE TELL ME THE NAME OF THE SONG

  • If you're interested in the song, Clasical, it's a techno version/remix of Sergei Rachmaninov's famous "Vocalise". Usually, I don't go for remixes of classical pieces since they tend to ruin and cheapen the original, but I do concede that this edit is excellent.

  • i disagree with you mikebagio, infinity looks totally different, from genesis coupe. it's just look a little similar because it was zoomed in one side way too much, but i gotta admit that car looks really good. Only problem is the HYUNDAI BADGE...come out with some new logo

  • not even close. ur an idiot.

  • why an idiot huh? I just said my opinion u dick head, i mean dick hole. Go finger ur mum u fat big mac

  • thats why you get negatives on your comments. grow up.

  • THAT IS A AWESOME CAR. WHAT WAS THE OFFICAL RELEASE DATE FOR THE US?

    5*s

  • @TheCarBuff If you can't afford a real car then this is a good alternative!
