  • Thanks very much!

  • really a pleasure to my ear

  • Let's all jam with Rock Ballad backing track, make Rock Ballad well-known as Canon Rock.

    Let's have fun!

  • beautiful sound...which yamaha model is that?

  • All I know is that it says "RGX Standard" on the headstock, and "Made in Taiwan" on the back.

    I think it's made in 1989.

  • sweet sounds .. so jazzy diatonic

  • Awesome Jam. What amp are you using????

  • A Zoom G9.2tt modeler (with Marshall JCM2000TSL lead ampmodel).

  • exellent!!!

  • holy CRAP!!!! This was the best solo over this jam track I have ever heard.

    keep it up!!!!!! :D

  • very nice work watch my improvision of this song

  • where can i get this jam track?

  • Great one.

Funny to see how everyone approaches this bt in another way. Between your version and mine is a certain simularity. Mine has a totally different feel though.

    Good playing.

  • I was just wondering if you would be kind enough to tell me what scales you used to solo over this (Pentatonic/Major/Minor). Thanx

  • It's all based around minor (diatonic modes). D minor if I'm not mistaken.

I use a combination of the natural minor and pentatonic scales, including blue notes, and occassionally some chromatics.

  • verry good EMG pickups STEVE LUKATHER THE BEST GUITAR PLAYER IN THE HISTORY

  • Ooooh, awesome tone.

  • amazing job! and amazing guitar, is that an rgx custom?

  • Thanks!

No, this is 'just' an RGX Standard.

It's for sale, if you're interested.

  • i have a couple of RGX's and man they're pretty and wicked guitars. thanks a lot though, i'm just flat broke ha ha.

  • very ingenious well done

  • hi there ! nice playing man really soft and nice, i just buaght a guitar myself and trying to learn :)! Im just wondering, how do you make our guitar put out so good noice? tried with my AMP. Cube30x but no luck of getting sound like that. Am doing something wrong?

  • Thanks.

Hum, that's a very tough question. It depends on a lot of factors. The type of wood of the guitar, the pickups, the amp, the settings you dial in, and your playing technique itself.

Another guitarist could use my guitar, my gear, my settings and everything, and still sound nothing like me.

  • good jam, plus the guitar is a beaut.

  • Thanks... I've actually been trying to sell that guitar for months now. It's a good guitar, but I have plenty other good guitars already, so this one doesn't get played much. It deserves a new home with an owner who will play it regularly.

It's just that nobody seems interested, I suspect it's because it's a Yamaha, rather than a more popular brand name.

  • well, all i know is that yamahas have been of great quality and reliability for lots of years now so being a yamaha is not a negative thing, its just because people want to hear about gibsons or fenders which admittedly have been lacking build quality for some time now...

  • Certainly. This guitar can hold its own amongst my Ibanez and Gibson guitars. It's just that most people don't believe that.

I guess this video is proof of how good the guitar is. I can play it fast and effortlessly, it doesn't go out of tune at all, despite the bends and tremolo use, it has a tight, well-defined sound and a nice tone with long singing sustain to boot. It even looks great too.

  • Very nice, I like it. :)

  • please send me the backing track

  • Please can someone send me this backing - sadly I didnt buy the mag. My Bad :-(

  • Five stars man! Excellent technique and feeling. Shredders sometimes forget that speed comes at the price and loose the expression just for the sake of the fast playing. Fortunately it's not the case here.

  • Thanks! Speed is just another way to express feelings, I suppose.

  • great tone, smooth playing, you got it all goin on man! Great job :)

  • I love your tone and expressions. This is the first decent solo-ballad i have seen on here.

  • Thanks very much, that's a big compliment!

  • francescofdi i love you

    and your playin scailbog ;)

  • i love it

i want to play like you

  • ufffffffffffff great solo you rock man!!!

Very good job man! Beautiful tone!

  • Honestly YOU'RE WAY BETTER THEN NORMAN KIM (:

idk how the heck on earth he get to be a teacher haha

  • Some nice playing you did here Dennis.

    greets From Ben

  • Thanks, Ben!

  • Amazing style, man ! A very beautiful jam construction. A lot of good feeling !

(Can we get the backing track ?).

    Keep rocking, bro !

  • Thanks!

The backing track is from a Total Guitar, not sure which one though, but '80s rock ballad' is the title, as far as I know.

  • This is impressive stuff man.

  • Thanks!

    Wanna buy the guitar? :)

  • :p

Might have to pass on that one. :)

  • magical,.

    amazingly great job

  • The quality of the playing as well as the tastefulness of the passage is unparalleled, man. Great job, and great tone.

  • Thanks, too much honour!

  • Just another masterpiece, man! Those EMG's sound badass and real tight. Keep up the great work!

  • Thanks, much appreciated!
