I tried butterfish for the first time about a month ago. Thought it was the worst fish I ever tasted. Strange because a lot of people told me it was really yummy???
fair enough, you spear much around the top of the south? If so you going to the South Island Spearfishing champs next weekend? It looking to be around Cape Lambert i think.
OMG i have never seen butter fish as populated like this in this video !! im living in wellington nrth island and even in kapiti neva see big 1s like that and soo populated !! could u tell me were abouts in the top of the south this is??
Thats a secret mate! I wish it was a marine reserve but unfortunately its not so I gota keep it hidden to ensure it remains how it is. I purposely forget my speargun when I go to this spot, sometimes its more rewarding to swim with the fish that eat them! Its a lot closer that you would think tho.....
mate, that looks like an awesome spot. (as did the Paua/Crayfish one) don't surpose you will give any hits to where abouts you were. I have found spots north of Kaikoura alittle like that. Its just amazing to see.
