My Catholic "confirmation" was a ritual I was forced to participate in as a child so my extended family could have cute pictures of me holding a cross and wearing a tie. I think it was supposed be the point where I confirmed my personal responsibility for my actions in the eyes of the church. In reality it confirmed nothing except the vanity of religion for the sake of tradition, that I could memorize a stack of prayers, and that I was too scared to stand up against my parents and the church.
