one reason is that supposedly there is less friction between his legs. i havent noticed a difference in my playing, the other is that when you drum hard, you get reaally sweaty and hot, especiallt under those lights. its cooler.
it is more comfortable to play drums in. it also helps him to play really fast double-bass patterns because you legs are uninhibited. i always wear soccer shorts when i play drums for the same reasons, your legs feel free and you can fly on the pedals.
nothing can compare to live shit 89 seattle, its flawless, followed by M.O.R 91, enter sandman is almost godly in that one, but these days they sound diff. tinny drum sound for one, james has obviously been through hell with his voice, compare this to how he sounds in M.O.R 91 you see what i mean, its a shame but i still love these guys!
I used to love Metallica, but dont they know that metal lies in long hair? You cant have a short-haired metal band, just doesnt work. St. Anger was a bit of a sell-out album as well, they should put another like the black album, and stop trying to appeal to everybody.
"Metal lies in long hair", you say? Did you even think before writing what you did? Are you suggesting that any short hair, average looking man cannot be part of a successful metal band? Whatever... Furthermore, Saint Anger was more of a "low-fi" album than its predecessors and the black album was deemed much more of a "sellout" by the fans. I just love the fact that everytime a hard-rock/metal band makes an album that everyone just seems to like they are deemed "sellouts".
Why does Rob suck? He wasn't involved in St. Anger if that's your first argument; second, his looks may not fit in with the rest, but you couldn't exactly call Cliff Burton a beauty. If you care about looks instead of music, you're not a rocker, you're a poser. Third and last, don't call any bass players Metallica accepts shit. I KNOW they're all much better than you at playing, but that's no reason to bash every new guy that comes into the band.
That's not true. There's the masterpiece (if you overlook the practically absent bass) ...And Justice for All from 1988 and the still great Black Album. Other than that,... Unfortunately, I have to agree. But with Bob Rock out of the picture, a better album may be on its way. Now if James just gets his vocals right... >_<
Seatle 2000 i think....Are there more videos on youtube from this concert ?

Learn to understand sarcasm man, sorry if that upset you. Metallica is one of my favorite bands, but St. Anger blew compared to their earlier work.
daveysindaclub 5 years ago
My bad, then =P . Missed the whole point. But St. Anger was pretty crappy, I agree. Let's just hope the new album is better!
