While she does have a bigger voice, I think Angela Lansbury was much better as the character. I'm actually a fan of Patti but I don't think she's suited for this part.

Look for Sweeney Todd in Concert and you'll see that Patti is brilliant, she beats Angela hands down, she's my favorite Mrs. Lovett, however I really don't like the style of the revival

I could never see what Judy Kaye (She was the Lovett I saw.) was polishing so through the song I always said to my friend "What's she polishing?!?" "A KNIFE." "Oh. *lol* How bout now?" "A...Wrench?!?!" I love this song, I'm singing it for my next audition!!
