  • There's always that one kid to make noise -_-

  • Good luck tromboneteen13 ;)

I hope you made it .

  • What a beautiful performance! We're playing this piece this year, and I'm going to get my first "real" euphonium solo now that I'm senior. Hopefully I do it some justice!

  • God is with us, O Emmaunual, love those who are beyond love

save those who are beyond hope

cry with those who have no shame

Speak to those who are not listening.

    Thank you, Larry B.

  • this song is so emotional and beautiful. i dont understand though why there are 2 piccolos in here. thats torture. it works though. im playing the piccolo part for this in my band. its absolutely stunning

  • "Atheism is a material and inseperable part of Marxism" Lenin responsible for the deaths of 20,000,000 Russians in Revelution 1917

  • Christianity = The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

  • @MrTruthAddict I'm also an atheist but this is still a beautiful song. If you don't like it, then what the hell are you doing on this page? By the way, awesome plagiarism of a quote that you weren't smart enough to think of on your own, but would like people to believe came straight out of that genius 'better-than-you' mind. You give atheists a bad name with your ignorant intolerance.

  • @thesistersmorton We've 'tolerated' religion for too long. It deserves no respect, only ridicule. I find it very difficult to respect full grown adults who believe in fairy tales. Especially one as silly as this. and dont you have better things to fret over besides someone cutting and pasting something on a yt video?

  • @MrTruthAddict Atheism is a material and inseperable part of Marxism Lenin . We've tolerated religion for too long, you say, Lenin thought the same so he murdered 20,000,000 Russian Christians

  • @MrTruthAddict I obviously have nothing better to do than you, as we have both wasted enough time on this. Try being tolerant, is all.

  • @MrTruthAddict Youtube fight! Youtube fight! Youtube fight!

  • I ONLY WEPT CUZ MY JUNK GOT STUCK IN MY ZIPPER,, YA BIG MOUTHS SINGING TO THE WORLD ABOUT MY ACCIDENT..

  • Is this high school all district band?

  • Good god my afro was huge.

  • I love how right at the very end, Schuman uses major chords one after the other and then the final minor chord to change the whole mood.

  • Most enjoyable!

  • okay i didnt hear it the first time i watched this but that constant chirping, whatever it is, is really annoying haha....

  • hi

    doing music brroject on billings

  • beautiful euphonium solo

  • That trumpet player holds his trumpet so awkwardly! It's not a bad thing, he sounds great! It's just different...and looks slightly uncomfortable. Haha. ^_^

  • ah i remember this piece. we played this my freshman year i believe.....quite beautiful if played right....

  • Yet another outstanding performance of the TX 5A All-State band, y'all really are incredible! This is one of the best performances of this piece on YouTube, hands down.

Unfortunately, the tubas completely destroyed the Ab, E, and B in the bass clef staff located @ 2:11. Come on, guys. It's called lip-trills, lip-slurs, long tones, and etudes like Bel Canto Studies or Brass Gym.

  • @jamesy11111

I'm a tubist who has been accepted into New York's All State band conference this year, and I couldn't hear anything.

  • @Tanks4meSTC Congratulations! That is a very noteworthy accomplishment. New York has some of the finest classical musicians in the world. I also performed in California's All-State HS band when I was in High School, and earned a bachelor of music education degree in college.

Indeed, the incidence is subtle and requires the listener to focus closely. Your perception of music will radically change with learning how to study and interpret a musical score.

  • @jamesy11111

I am not sure if I will ever get to that point. Although I love playing the tuba (I'm planning to move to Allentown, PA when I'm an adult and play with the Allentown Community Band and march in DCA with the Reading Buccaneers) I'm going to college next year to eventually get an MS in Mechanical Engineering so I can fulfill my dream of designing roller coasters and amusement rides, a dream I have had since I was ten years old.

  • @jamesy11111

Well, now that I listened to it again at 2:11, I did hear a bit of a flutter in the tubas.

  • trumpet solo is absolutely beautiful. at 5:10 the clarinets should of listened alittle better but overall very beautiful.

  • i can tell that the trumpet player is pretty nervous, dont let nerves affect the wavering of the pitch. really good

  • I wish I could have heard it live.

A cornet or especially a flugelhorn would have personally suited me better juxtaposed to the euphonium's sonority.

    Nonetheless, a beautiful performance.

  • the clarinets are a little off tune at 5:15

but other than that it sounds really good.

  • The thing is, certain "recordings" will accentuate any pitch discrepancies. I'm sure that live, it was an entirely different experience.

  • @kujhac It's so true.

  • the balance you guys have is utterly incredible....extremely commendable, especially to the soloists. it's a very tough pocket-piece.

  • Beautiful

  • I have a question :

Is this song composed by Willian Billings or Willian Schuman ?

    Thanks

  • the original song is composed by william billings

the band work based on the song is comosed by william schuman

  • this is incredibly beautiful.

  • That baby crying at the end adds to the piece.

  • that isn't a baby it's actually Jesus weeping

  • They play more beautiful than the one recording ive heard

  • at about 1:42, the band sounds like a human choir when they come in to join the soloists. it's quite lovely

  • this pieece is somewhat difficult just because of all the syncopation in the euphonium solo. w were going to play this at our easter chapel but then thhe princepal chose choir to perform....RAWR!

  • this does have a great solo :)

  • If you've never played this piece, join a community band or plead with your director and have him/her bring this out of the library to play it. It is extremely moving and just wonderful to play.

  • does anyone know how high of a note did the trumpet have to hit around 4:27 and then later?

  • I am VERY familiar with this peice, and it isn't high, if you are a trumpet player-a good one that is

  • but what note was it?

I dabble in trumpet and my only highest comfortable note is C above the staff.

  • it is a high C. We played this piece last year here in Indiana at Warren. Truly beautiful solos.

  • Beautiful.

  • This was amazing.

  • This is actually based on the hymn by William Billings. Billings was an early American composer who wrote many beautiful hymn tunes.

  • It's interesting to me how some recordings are so different from the live versions. I'm sure this was much better live than what the recording portrayed. Beautiful music and a beautiful performance none the less.

  • hey, im a trumpet player and that soloist looks like me

perhaps i'm merely taking a glimpse into the future

  • This is such a beautiful song....I had the honor of playing this at Tri-State :D

  • Brilliant and beautiful.

  • Lol, I forgot the baby crying at the end. How inappropriately appropriate.

    When baby wept.

  • this was my favorite song =)

    both soloists were amazing

i think that Jesus wept when he heard this

    no joke

    -JayRod

  • too much, guy.

  • this was my favorite song =)

    both soloists were amazing

i think that Jesus wept when he heard this

    no joke

    -tuba player

  • Me too. :]

    -Euphoniumer

  • loved this moment :)

    ~field drummer

  • Yay for cool percussionist. :]

  • nicely done! both soloists did a great job, and really liked the 'staging' of the field drum.

  • beautiful...absolutely beautiful
