If I were you, I would remove this video. You should not be flying in a controlled airspace, its dangerous and illegal. In Australia a RC pilot is being prosecuted under the civil aviation law for doing exactly the same thing. It came to the authorities notice after he posted his video on you tube. I think he is looking at a prison sentence now according to the news report. Only a thought.
good video. odds are, that you crashed the plane once or twice, resulting in a compromised wing from take off. These planes are alot of fun. i'd suggest fitting a carbon rod to the wing. That'll stiffen it up some.
Wing folding is pretty common, especially with the added weight of a camera or other devices. Also, it's hard to determine an RC plane's altitude is without an altimeter (or height sensor for RC aircraft).
hey! theres no proof that you even got close to the boeing 737, "no one" can visibly see your rc plane when the wing collapses or before it does!!!! ha! probably total poop scratch!!! oh and real planes have gas/glow engines, and are made of wood, carbon fiber, fiberglass, or anything but a plastic and foam toy!!!!
2) Camera weight is about 50g and it doesn't affect CG much. Taking in account that this bird was heavily upgraded I took care to keep CG ~33% from the leading edge of the wing.
3) Camer should be pointed 45 degree down for the best footage.
ha ha , near miss , NOT ,funny vid , nice crash , I crashed my electric ducted fan jet red arrows hawk today . I was hot doggin showing off and flew into the ground ! A bit of glue and she'll fly again . I love electric rc planes , just gotta get a cam for it now . cheers .
Woah! What a terrifying near miss! That 737 was only about 1.5km away from your RC plane, it's very fortunate there wasn't a mid air collision sending a fireball raining down on the sleepy streets below
If someone was dumb enough to fly a rc in restricted air space they get a visit from the Feds informing you of your fine, and your prison term should you harm anyone. Treating others like idiots only makes you look stupid.
Footage from the ground was taken on the same time as onboard footage no foolishing. 737 was real and at the same time when I did sharp turn. It was a coincidence that my "bird" went down in a dead spiral at the same time as 737 was approaching Toronto airport. looking at the sequence of events I got an idea to come up with a story to make these events more intiguing ... :-). Thank you for enjoying my video clip. More to come soon.
I don't see where the plane almost hits the 737. All I see is a dot that I'm assuming is your plane, and there's a cut or jolt in the footage, and suddenly I see a 737. I doubt it was anywhere close. I wonder if the 737 pilot saw your plane.
The in-flight footage is definitely pretty sweet, as is the death spiral. It's nice to have ground footage, but you can't really see anything without zoom.
Nice vid, but was the rc really on the course of the 737, as it seems to be much lower? Anyway you toke the right choice, otherweise you could have end up posting a much more dramatic footage here :)
you was closer landing on the moon.. Ps get rid of the doggy hair cut . I bet you a quid you was sevrell miles away from it (the plane noy the cut)

Hey i just got this plane!!
A) do you fly with the landing gear or without?
B) i was doing some wild loops and other stunts when my wing collapsed... has that ever happened to you or did i just buy the wrong one.
10YouGotTube10 3 years ago
he crashed when he pulled a sharp manuver and the wing collapsed
idontknow421 3 years ago
I am flying with landing gears as I am taking off from the ground.
In my case wings folded due to very high speed and sudden sharp turn.
Look like wings folding is common issue for this baby :-).
I have moved to Aerobird Extreame for now.

a) What kind of video camera did you use?
b) Didn't it affect the CQ to have the camera in the nose like that?
jpitt57488 4 years ago
1) It is tiny "5-in-1" => Google it :-)
2) Camera weight is about 50g and it doesn't affect CG much. Taking in account that this bird was heavily upgraded I took care to keep CG ~33% from the leading edge of the wing.

Rubber bands are for main wing attachment to the fuselage.

Umm, to scale your plane would have to be the size of the 737's tail feathers. I think he was a tad bit higher than you.
