Looks practical. One drawback though, did anyone notice that all the tests show a controlled drop to the water surface. I did not see one heavy impact in the test. I dont think the floatation devices could withstand that type of impact due to material flexibility. Then again it could be used as a recreational vehicle for those of you that are millionares. Nice vid, the last chopper EC 130 is just the best machine ever, but the floats arent that good, the fenestron is almost in the water, and I dont think their able to open the doors anymore. Better you never get into a situation like this.
What an excellent video and demonstration of emergency floats and autorotations... Would think that most helicopters operating, commercially, over water, already have emergency floats... not cheap!
i remember in the back seat of training like this it feels like YOUR past flys through you before u land literally ITS FUCKIN SCARY!!!

@TheFearless ....yeah, it's actually called an autorotation and it is an engine out landing....ALL helicopters do it.....it is a maneuver....
