- Made from the Navy, designed to protect the Navy, but decided to copy the Army's rank structure.
- Always bragging about their boot camp lasting the "longest" unbeknown to them that Army Infantry MOS'ers are in for exactly as long and go to a separate basic
- Despite misinformed popular belief, there was only one time the Marine Corps was the first one in, and it was a relief effort.

@360Nomad I doubt the corps is going to be around much longer as it is today, not as a separate branch. They are very far today from what the Marine Corps' mission was. Amphibious assault launched from Navy ships and protecting the captain from mutiny. They should be glad as fuck they finally got put to use in World War II just for that. I'm going to laugh when the Marine Corps is integrated in the Army, being the second army as they are now. And Don't ask don't tell applies to all branches.

This is a movie. No point in further arguing with you. Shows what kind of people end in in the Marine Corps. Get the dumbest fucks you can find and tell them how big and strong they are for joining. The Marines isn't going to be around anyways, I don't need to say anything else. I'll never forget the day I reserved my spot in the infantry that there was also a sergeant from the corps saying he'd join the army and even signed a paper saying he probably won't retain his rank. That says something.

@GhettoNerd88 being repect full if you wanna go there the army requires an asvav score of 31 the corps require an score of 34 the Navy requires an score of 50 and the Air force requires an score of 70, the marines go through one of the toughtests basic trainings that there are 3 miles push ups sit ups and pull ups, and there is no superior branch its one fight one team, now you sound like some one who served, and thanks for that.

@GreenDayNico If only people would understand that, though, what most "marines" don't understand is that Army Infantry is in for 14 weeks and have a separate Basic from POGs. What else they might not know is that Army and USMC basic are exactly the same up until the extra month of amphibious assault training the USMC incorporates.

@GreenDayNico I believed all the hype about the marine corps until I actually did my research when I ended up not going in the Navy. Found they are largely based on myth. NOBODY enters a country unless the Army Rangers and Army Special Forces have entered. How many times were the Marines the very first to arrive? Once. A humanitarian effort. Regular Army and USMC Infantry enter at the same time.

@GhettoNerd88 the army is there to hold ground and maintain control, the navy is there for support and presence air support and naval operations, the airforce is there to provide support at much lesser magnitude than the navy only because they are much smaller, but all the branches the relevant ones( not the coast guard) are part of a team because every enlisted member of the U.S military has a contract with the deparment of defence.

Anyone who's actually been in the war knows that the Army and Marines end up fighting together at times and theres nothing but respect between them. @Boltzy8686 actually...it does matter what branch is better because of the simple fact that as Americans, we are competitive...when someone isn't as good as someone else...they will strive to be better, therefore creating better military forces by nature. Competition is what drives this country...if someone is told they are as good as someone else they are less likely to try and get better than if someone is better than them. Our military forces have been getting better to outdo the other branch
