It really comes down to one thing. Do you want Adults to have choice. Obviously, they don't. I wonder how Mr. MA (Michael Atkinson) would feel if his pass times and interests were censored and partially banned from his own Country.
Attention Aussie gamers, It seems that our demands for an R18+ rating may have been heard. If you copy and paste this title into your google search bar entitled "Govt considers R-rating for video games", they're may be light at the end of the tunnel for adult gamers after all, it's just a question of when.
Not mention as well that games that are classified as adult games in other countries like GTA have certain parts of the game censored and then are released. However these games still remain with a lot of adult content (hijacking cars, running from cops and graphically shooting people). Yet an eight year old can go into K-Mart or Target and buys these games without showing any ID. Be fair on our kids and their parents, bring in classifications.
I agree with most of us gamers that we need an R18+ classification for videogames.
What those 'certain' politicians don't get, like Michael Atkinson and also Barnaby Joice (from his comments on ABC's Q&A show in July 2008) is that the R18+ games will allow the games that fall into the higher range of M17+ in the ESRB that can't fit into the MA15+ of the OFLC and then be safely given the right of passage into the R18+ rating that would be marketable.
you can also get PC games from america on Amazon.com

The market will still be governed by ESRB.
