@LarryBundyJr My logic is that there was more "stuff" to work with in this program.. With Final Fight, you really would just have had another Street Fighter, minus any Hadouken, etc. With this, you could do any crazy thing you wanted.. and we all know how kids love crazy crap!

I mean, I watched it right after Sailor Moon. Didn't care much for street fighter, but this was awesome.

Capcom is always about Megaman and SF, and besides, the characters, especially the ladies in this game are much hotter than in FF. So, it might be more appealing to the male audience. Those 2 cartoons burned a scar in my brain on how America can fuck up 2 of the most respected fighting games with a shit storyline and god awful animation.. The theme to this one is awesome, Street's Fighter's theme is awesome too and so is the MegaMan theme. I love 'em. LOVE THEM.

Plus for it's cheesiness, I love the cartoons. They're so hilariously bad and they can be good in SOME places. To me, they're awesome.

@Primape92 The quality of the animation itself was pretty much the same at the time between the American and Japanese companies, I believe your thinking of the artistic style. Although if your looking for quality animation you should check out the Gummi Bears and Ducktales cartoon shows. The animation is so fluid and crisp that those shows still stand out even today.

Even a lot of modern and relatively high-budget anime projects (OVAs) often have mediocre animation at best.

The only thing the Japanese have done is diversify their genre and targeted a more adult audience. But if you're talking about animation quality of the final product then the American animation is superior for the most part.

The thing with anime is that their production budget is very limited. Even in some modern OVAs you'd feel that they're not animating and using bypassing techniques to avoid it.

One of the good anime I'd seen recently were the Hellsing Ultimate OVAs, and even that's very badly animated.

In contrast, a random Justice League episode would have extremely fluid and frequent animation, and their lips would align with their words.

@jsh020 Even some of the more prestigious anime is actually very low quality stuff in terms of animation. FMA, Fate/Stay Night, Death Note etc are all very bad.

If you want to see real high quality animation then watch Treasure Planet -or any Disney feature length- side by side with any anime (even Steamboy). You'll feel that there's a difference.

There are, of course, even more popular shows like Evangelion or Naruto etc, but they're either way too old or too cheap for comparison, so I dropped them.

For American side, I brought up Justice League, a 2001 show. If that sounds unfair then why don't you just compare them with Spongebob or Superman:TAS (animation-wise, of course)

American animation might have lighter tone or a different art etc, but their animation is better.

I'm not dissing anime, but it's a fact that they animate at an average 8-12 frames per second (FPS) and no higher. Good American animation goes up to 18 FPS, and feature lengths up to 24 FPS.

Dude, I think you don't understand what I'm trying to say. Try to read up on this on the internet. This scene utilizes the same limited animation techniques. The animation is fluid relative to an anime series (obvious since it's a feature length) but it can't compare to a Disney feature length. They're just much more expensive, and the animation reflects that.

I'll be honest with you, I haven't seen Wall-E. I'm seriously starting to dislike 3D feature lengths. I saw Kung Fu panda and to me it was boring. I didn't even like Up, or Madagascar 2. They were okay, but not that great, or funny.

So I can't give comments on them.
