@johnjackstif yes NS gave amtrak permission to use the Delmarva so they could transport amfleets to their servicing facility in Bear, DE and in turn NS gets permission to use the Northeast Corridor to run freight.
i remember seeing a pair of Amtrak GP15s when i was going home from Newark, i went to Pizza Hut to get some food, i was lucky to see them when i made a pit stop. i caught them in Bear Delaware, sucked i never got them on camera, they were goin 50mph
thats common at that area, they use them to run tie cars and passanger cars from the NEC to delpro yard where the shop is. you can see that almost twice daily working delpro.
GP 15 built (rebuilt) by Motive Power Inc. I get to run them in Sunnyside on the drill job, and they are a pretty good engine. NOt bad for something that has a cat engine in it :)
Awww it's a little baby engine.

Neat Amtrak switcher, this is in no way a GP15 though it's a Genset
metraF40PH163 2 months ago
@metraF40PH163 yeah a Genset GP15 not an EMD.
conrail19900 2 months ago
@conrail19900 So was it built off of an old GP15 frame?
metraF40PH163 2 months ago
@metraF40PH163 No its a completely different engine from MPI classified as a GP15 or GP15D whatever preffered.
conrail19900 2 months ago
@metraF40PH163 Hum, that's odd. Usually they build gensets off of old frames of GP's & SD's
