I went to the flea market yesterday and some guy was trying to sell Rob the Robot for 60 bucks and he said it worked good. It was missing all the pieces and it was filthy. In the game shop of the farmers market they were selling one in the box for $100.00! I was like the thing isn't even worth $20.00! I bought a power pad with World Class Track meet for $8.00 and Metroid for $5.00. Total of $13.00 worth of entertainment...
Hey , that makes me really sad, I live on Brazil and here we dont get access to flea market or garage sales, I can only go to ebay to get my stuff, and then the DAMN customs put some taxes on me :(((
I given up on Flee Markets, one time i bought 5 games for the orginal xbox i didn't open them until i got home. get this out of the 5 games i bought only one had the actual game the rest had blank disks how do i know i checked, the next day i wen back the guy was gone i was never so pissed in my life
I go to thrift stores now, the flea market sucks for the most part but those volunteer old people running the thrift store are awesome(unless you want to buy a computer, they price fucking Windows 95 computers for hundreds). But the games, books and controllers are CHEAP. I got like 5 big computer programming and networking books valued at about 100 bucks each for $2.50 and a bunch of NES games for 50 cents each the other day. I got almost every Star Wars and Star Trek novel from there too.
I loved AVGN and thanks to his recent video, have become a huge fan of Pat. Great video, I was almost ripped off a few times at flea markets from dealers. Now I know how to spot them. I will say that although ebay CAN be a ripoff, I like buying wholesale, so I can usually get good deals on those.
Dear Pat, could you help me? In my country there are no proper NES system just Dendy (hardware clone). And no official games. (Just for Nintendo). My question: Can I buy NES games on Ebay with hungarian forint?
My friends dad is a reseller. I fucking swear to god I go to yardsales with him, and hey buys everything!!!!!!! He got 32 BOXED SNES GAMES FOR $20 FUCKING DOLLARS!!!! I CAN'T BUY SHIT!!! This dude lives right outside of PA, and he has 3 WHOLE ROOMS of overpriced games. I try to buy the stuff at yardsales and thrift stores when I go with my friends family, cause my parents never take me, but this guy beats me to the punch. One day I was desperately in need of cash, and I MEAN DESPERATELY, but...
We have a guy who buys everything good in our area he pleasantly marks everything up but in my area video games are impossible to find then again I don't look. I have found one thing a 1979 sears head to head football game for a buck it's worth like forty or fifty to bad we don't have flea markets by me.
@PatTheNESpunk wait pat you are in nj im in nj im going to englishtown tomorrow maybe ill see you there.by the looks of it there is some good stuff and i love that part when the guy starts playing back in the ussr
ok, so i went to a flee market a few years back, and there was this box of snes games for a buck, im like"awesome i'll take them all" not even caring what was in it, so on my drive home, i look threw the box, and to my suprise the was FUCKING EARTHBOUND - FUCKING EARTHBOUND FOR A BUCK ....i was so happy :3
i loved your video with angry video game nerd but something makes me sad about this video...i see Nintendo game boxes i never seen one in real life so i get sad when i see one on the internet
Hey, I'm young so I only get $5 a week. I really want to build a snes collection. How much money should I walk into a flea market with? Of course, when I buy game lots from eBay I sell all my duplicate games.
"i hope you're not video taping?" what in the ass of fuck does that matter to him?! obviously he's doing something unethical or pissed off or ripped off one two many people, what a fucking snake in the grass asshole.
I go to flea market near my house for old ps1 and nes and snes games. Managed to find some cool stuff like a boxed Starfox for like $17, Super mario allstars with Worlds for about $15 and Legend of Dragoon for like $5. Great stuff but they are somewht hard to find in michigan unless its gibraltors which is mostly resellers.
everyone in the Upstate NY area who's into fleas must go to Clerence NY near Buffalo. It's AWESOME!! It's past its glory days, 1985-2000, but it's still very good: comics, video games, sports cards, vintage costume jewelry. all there.
At a retro game shop last week i found a great looking Ducktales 2 cart for 12 bucks. Another time at a flea market i found Mega Man X2 and X3 and i bought them for 15 bucks each!!! Nothing beats the feeling of finding a rare/great game for a low price at a store or Flea Market, such a good feeling.
lol i remember being at a flea market and randomly asked a guy how much he'd get rid of his sega genesis for. Answer: $60.00 Look at the price tag: $15. . . fail lol
Yeah dude, re-sellers are ruining it for retro gamers/gamers looking to find cheap games. I remember back in the day, you could always find boxed games, whole systems, etc at thrift stores and flea markets for reasonable prices. I remember one time I found a Sega Master system with all hook-ups/controllers with like, what must have been 20-30 boxed games. System was like 10, and the games were like 2 bucks, at a thrift store. Now, you'd be extremely lucky to find a system like that.
OH MY GOODNESS!!! I SET UP AT FLEAMARKETS IN OHIO AND PA... AT 5:44 ...I HEAR THE SAME TALKING DOLL ALLLLLL DAY! IT IS SOOOOOO ANNOYING AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE BUY EVEN ONE OF THEM FOR YEARS!
Also, Pat, what exactly do you think of those small independent video game stores that sell a lot of used games? I've gone to a couple and have found some decent prices, but not often.
That texas hold em game for GBA...My mother bought me that at the 99 cent store at least 3-4 years ago and this douchebag is selling it for 7 bucks. What a joke.
@VLTcoincollector its strange how the people who ALWAYS seem to get some for cheaper than the guys video they are watching, never seem to make videos of these "amazing" deals. They just seem so far fetched. Everyone wants to see your deals, share damn you
I wish my flea market had more games, I often shop from a guy who sells common NES games for $4 or $6 each. I also saw some SNES games, not sure how much they cost though.
I wish there were some flea markets like that in my town. If there's one, there's usually one reseller whose prices are ridiculously high and some guys who sell mostly either sports games or games I already have. That's really annoying. Time for a trip to the U.S. :D
cant believe they are selling game boy advance games for 7.00, i feel the only games that should be priced more than 5 bucks are nintendo made games and pokemon games
lol, i met that xxx guy, he is really cool, i love englishtown, great place to meet collectors and make friends, this is one of my favorite youtube videos
curse of monkey island an excellent choice sir, im loving the remakes on the itouch they should leave curse alone tho it doesnt need a special edition yay i had that atari as a kid
there arent alot of flea markets in my town, so i dont have alot of choice to use ebay, but if it is redicules like 20 bucks for SMB... jeah, i wont buy it =P
the local flea market where i live is on sundays.......and it keeps raing every fucking sunday......i want to go to at least 1 before the summer is over, i mean, come on!!!THIS SUCKS!!! WHERE ELSE AM I SUPPOSED TO GET OLD GAMES?!?!?! THE VIDEO GAME STORE DONT SELL THEM ANY MORE!!!bleargh
nice video ive been there a couple of times and let me tell you unless you can take it dont go here when its 90+ degrees outside lol and i agree with you on the resellers most of them overprice some games but the ones ive dealt with are good guys who have actually played these games and know what they're talking about. not sure if you located in jersey or not but the route 70 flea market in lakewood also has great steals from time to time
you know what man people think they can get rich overnight but as more and more of these so called resellers keep popping up the bottom will fall out and we collectors will have the last laugh seen it happen here in philly
Great video! I'm also a collector and a big fan of flea markets etc. Unfortunately we don't have as great markets as you in your area, but when the games appear, they are usually very very cheap.
@skaterpunk246 It's because of that NES being sold with the super rare games Stadium Events with an NES for 13,000$, and now every one thinks their NES' is worth thousand, damn scammers.
damn i wish we had a flea market that big here in Gallup, NOT very big to be considered to be a flea market. the only i go there for is for the rare incense.
Great video, I remember I had that plastic Gameboy shell. Doucheguy "Hey you're not getting me on camera are ya?!" Me "Nah but keep talking I'll be sure to get plenty of your voice"
I love shopping for old games at my local Flea Market, although sometimes it is hit or miss. Sometimes the people have next to nothing, and other times there are absolute treasures on sale. The best deal I ever got were complete boxed copies of the original Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior for 2 bucks each. Now I am addicted Flea Markets.
I hate the re-sellers all they do is go around with a blackberry on ebay to see how much the games are worth. They have no knowledge of the games, they have a field guide and they just look up the games. The re-sellers probably have never played a nes in there life. One re-seller had mario/duck hunt for 20 bucks and baseball for 15.
the only games i ever found on flea markets are random ps1 sports games ( sometimes there is hidden goodies ) TWO nes games ONE game boy game ONE gameboy color game TWO genesis games. i have game store near me and the prices are high on common games like super mario bros. but games like panic restaurant are cheap :)
God damn, I knew flea markets were the way to go to find awesome cheap games, but I had NO IDEA how much you could find. Thank you so much for informing me!
sports games suck. RPGS are great collectors items especially the original ps1 and snes chrono trigger and chrono cross. the original ps1 is also a good collectors item.
I used to live about 20 mins from there and every weekend i would go hunting for all kinds of neat bargins! So i can vouhc for what pat is saying about flea markets, especially this one! We need a good one like englishtown, in massachusetts =(
My problem is I live in Louisiana and there are no real good Flea Markets around that sell games unlike New Jersey, since Louisiana is a giant swamp and NJ is close to the US birthplace of the NES New York. The stores around are resellers and one belongs to my best friend and he sometimes gives me a deal but sell things at those ungodly Ebay prices, but did manage get a Tri-Star SNES adapter to play NES on SNES and a few free NES controllers to use with my WII controller adapters.
cool, i went to my local flea market 2 days ago and bought a nes with all cables and 2 controllers for $25, then in another stand i bought super mario bros/duck hunt, castlevania, golf, legend of zelda(gold) and a nes advantage controller for $16. I think i got a pretty good deal haha
I went to my local flea market, nothing good but lots of resellers trying to get a lot of money from their games. Startropics for 25 bucks? No Thanks.
I also suggest pawn shops as someone else mentioned, my local pawn shops sell PS2/Gamecube/Xbox for 3-5 bucks each.
When you got that paper stuck on your shoe that reminded me of when i went to a flea market and i got a giant tack in my shoe and it was like half a centimetre from going through my foot
This video was both highly entertaining and extremely educational. I feel better prepared and more confident to enter the market named after the nagging insect that used to eat my childhood dog's skin to a bloody pulp.

Two things I ALWAYS find at Flea Markets...
N64's and Xbox's.
I swear, everyone finds them in the trash now and expects them to go for gold.
Only good if it's a Halo edition Xbox; or once I found the European Crystal Clear Xbox. Snagged both of them.

Great video! I'm also a collector and a big fan of flea markets etc. Unfortunately we don't have as great markets as you in your area, but when the games appear, they are usually very very cheap.

lucky at my flea market there is only 1 re seller and he is some times a sleeze ball but mostly an ok guy

@skaterpunk246 It's because of that NES being sold with the super rare games Stadium Events with an NES for 13,000$, and now every one thinks their NES' is worth thousand, damn scammers.

Daigo787 2 years ago
I hate the re-sellers all they do is go around with a blackberry on ebay to see how much the games are worth. They have no knowledge of the games, they have a field guide and they just look up the games. The re-sellers probably have never played a nes in there life. One re-seller had mario/duck hunt for 20 bucks and baseball for 15.

Is a flee market what is called a 'car-boot sale' in England, where you set up a table and sell stuff from your car-boot?

My problem is I live in Louisiana and there are no real good Flea Markets around that sell games unlike New Jersey, since Louisiana is a giant swamp and NJ is close to the US birthplace of the NES New York. The stores around are resellers and one belongs to my best friend and he sometimes gives me a deal but sell things at those ungodly Ebay prices, but did manage get a Tri-Star SNES adapter to play NES on SNES and a few free NES controllers to use with my WII controller adapters.
loomp 2 years ago
cool, i went to my local flea market 2 days ago and bought a nes with all cables and 2 controllers for $25, then in another stand i bought super mario bros/duck hunt, castlevania, golf, legend of zelda(gold) and a nes advantage controller for $16.

You didn't mention Pawn Shops. I've gotten good deals there too

never thought of it, i made the mistake of being stupid trading in all of my old video games for a dollar to buy some throw away psone games.

This video was both highly entertaining and extremely educational. I feel better prepared and more confident to enter the market named after the nagging insect that used to eat my childhood dog's skin to a bloody pulp.
