  • Hey i love your videos, i always buy Yankee candles & tarts from the Yankee Direct site as its much cheaper than the stores that stock them in the UK. Also the info on canyoning candles is really great as this always happens with the big house warmers & i have to dig them out & use them in my tart burner instead as i refuse to waste any leftover scented wax for the price i pay for them! I will certainly be investing in some of those Yankee lids & a warmer though. Great stuff, keep it up x

  • do a tutorial on the foil illuma lid

  • Can't find your twitter details. Add me: ricke17

  • I work for wax lyrical and where I work, we have a large yankee department and I love yankee candles, however the first tip on how you burn the candle is really useful, as I've had customers that have brought back candles that have burnt stright down and now I know that they haven't burnt them long enough! :)

  • There are many layers to the bottom ?

  • Omg I have a problem, I have many candles that I burned in a wrong way and now I can't fi

  • i really searched for such a video :)

  • Thanks for the informative video! I just realized today that I should be trimming my wick (apparently I'm not alone). Never heard of the candle warmer either :)

  • wow lol..........

  • Is there a proper way to put a candle out? besides blowing it

  • do you reuse the empty jar or can you reuse it??? can you make a review on "sun and sand" candle? pleaseee!!!

  • sweet tips i never thought about alot of these things

  • it's when half an INCH is left, not half of the candle!

  • It is when a half an inch of wax remains!

  • hi i love you videosss but the bottom of them say discontinue use when a HALF INCH of wax remains. not when half of the wax remains. <3 <3 <3

  • 'your house will burn down' hahah very good video. you know your stuff

  • Nice how to. What's the best way to blow out a candle without it steaming/smoking after that? Sometimes I'll push the wick into the wax and that works pretty well, but it seems like there's probably a better way that I don't know about.

  • @midnightjune I've actually always heard that pushing the wick into the wax is the best way to put out a candle. It covers the wick in wax again, which helps it to light up easier the next time you want to burn it

  • I trim my wicks all the time, but I still get that black smoke.

  • am i supposed to pour out the melted wax when i'm about to blow off my candles? please answer! xx

  • how to u make the foil thingy

  • candle etiquette lol i had no idea. thanks!

  • Thanks dude, candles hide the smell of weed ;)

  • Heyy ! im really curious how can i like stop my candles from doing this thing where like (when its burning) there is allot of melted wax around the wick so it puts the flame out :/ or do i just have to pour it out ? :)

    thanks ! <3

  • Good video.

  • are you homosexual?

  • @jackneeley10 Gotta be.

  • Thanks so much, this has helped me a lot!

  • just recently got into candles, purchased my first yankee today at BB&B. only 12 bucks for a 22oz tall jar (Autumn Leaves), one of my favorites. They still have many of their Fall/Christmas scents. Got hooked on those after being around my GF's yankee tart warmer.

There is a massive Yankee candle store in Williamsburg here in VA that is a sight to see.

  • Awesome tips! I didn't know there was a way to save a tunneling candle. I bought one at bath and body works and the wick wasn't centered properly, so I have tunneling b/c the wax pool never reaches one side of the jar. So I'm trying the aluminum foil!

  • I honestly didn't know there was that much to managing a candle...

But thanks, i wouldn't have made a video myself, but it's good to know. My wife works at Yankee Candle so she's turned me into a candle-holic. Balsam and Cedar = Awesomeness.

  • @SapAuthor Balsam and Cedar was my favorite for Winter! Thanks for the comment! (:

  • @joshua94ferguson No problem. Oh, you probably already figured this out, underneath it doesn't say to "stop burning after 1/2 is burnt" it says till it's down to 1/2 inch of wax left.

And for the heated wax melter thing you got, you would have to check to see if the cost of running a heating element would end up being more costly than buying another candle. Those heating electronics suck electricity like nothing.

    Good luck to ya.

  • This was so informative! Thank you!

  • i did not know it was possible to fuck up burning candles. turns out i've been doing it wrong my whole life. thank you josh! :D

  • Thanks for the informational video......I am also a Yankee Candle guy myself ....I heard from someone that you should trim the wick before you start to burn a candle to increase the life of the candle....I personally have never tried this with any of my candles. Do you know if this tip is true????.......THANKS

  • @partianimal95 I'm not quite sure about Bath and Body Works, but I definitely know there are Yankee stores in the UK. (and you could always order online!)

    Thanks for watching! (:

  • So I, uh...watched my first video of yours which was one about your Hollister and Abercrombie clothes. I clicked to your channel and saw this one. Holy heck, your voice changed xP

    Lookin' good, kid!

  • @InternetFad Thanks! Those older videos are quite embarrassing. hehe

  • please start doing outfits of the day!!! :)

  • I have two boys(20&15) myself and wish I could get one of them to make videos. Not happening (yet).

  • @Maurie58 haha, I've visited your channel and you should make videos! I would love to watch them!

  • @Maurie58 Nope........no way, not gonna happen. I am way too chicken. I wish I could though. For now I will just enjoy all of you good youtubers. Again, awesome job Joshua.

  • @Maurie58 ewwww ur old

  • @skiingrocks1001 Ya think.........wise a**?

  • Thanks Josh..! P.S I wish I could look out your window like you always do...show us the window one day :D

  • so thats why my candles are creating so much smoke XD

  • Hey Josh, great candle video as usual. You think maybe YC means 1/2" of wax left? IDK. I do love YC even when many have swayed from them. I am still a fan of them and Bath&BodyWorks too. Good job on all the info.

  • @Maurie58 Thanks! That is how I interpreted it. How would you? I don't want to give wrong information. hehe!

    (:

  • @joshua94ferguson LOL..........knowing myself, I probably would have initially thought the same thing. Then I would have been like "no way!, I'm not tossing a candle thats only half gone" and would have burned the heck out of it. I used to sell Partylite, so I have seen it all with candles. Yours look amazing and you are taking great (((care))) of them. Keep up the good work. I am very happy to be subbed and following your videos. Does mom watch and give input?Just curious, its cute.

  • This video is really helpful! Thanks! I LOVE your channel btw, you are one of my fave Youtube gurus to watch. :) xx

  • @LABarbiexoxo Aww! <3 Thank you so much! It really means a lot! (:

    Joshua! (:

  • @Sparkalicious390 You are very welcome, I'm glad you found it helpful! (:

  • also, they provide full melt pools

  • I like Yankee, but i've gotten into BBW's more because they're better fragranced and better wax imo. also, they're very afforable when they're 2 for $20

  • @JVilla1009 Yes, they are very nice, I actually have several. The wax is so soft, even when hardened!

  • "You're house WILL burn down!" hehe.... that was funny. Love you Josh.

  • @MarcusTheGrand haha thanks!

  • Also, did you ended up picking up anything during the Semi-Annual Sale?!?! If so, please do a haul :-)

  • Thanks for this video, Joshua! My biggest pet peeve is seeing people with tunneled candles! LOL I'm extremely anal about it. I don't know how many videos I have seen on here where people are showing their favorites and they have totally ruined their candle because they think their candle will last longer because they aren't burning them for long periods of time. The even the burn, the longer the candle last :-) Great video!

  • @phoeberun86 OMG! yeah! fleurdeforce here on youtube has showed some several times and on every single one you can see inches of wax bulid-up around the edges! So aggravating!

& NO! I totally missed the sale! I can't believe it!

Thank you so much for watching! <3

  • I use a pair of nail clippers to trim my wicks on my BB&W and Yankee candles, I find it easier as the wax recedes lower and lower

  • @Simer2010 Wow! That's a great idea! I've never thought about that! Great tip! (:

  • I had no idea there was a wrong way to light a candle! Thank you for this :)

  • @LifeYourLifeGorgeous You're welcome! <3

I hope it was insightful! (:

  • i LOVE all your candle videos :)

  • @cos7ate9 Thank you! I love doing them! (:

  • Really Helpful, thanks :D
