I saw Clive for the first time in Banbury as part of the 4 Parts Guitar tour. If you live in the UK and read this before the end of March 2011, look up the tour dates and travel as far as it takes! The other 3 parts besides Clive are John Etheridge, Ray Burley and Gordon Giltrap. All stellar performers, but for me it was Clive who shone brightest. Certainly, as we mingled at the interval, it was his performance of Oregon that everyone was talking about. Thanks for posting the video.
This guy dwarfs most guitarists who are regularly touted as "the best"...I've seen both him and John McLaughlin and Clive was on par...go see him if you can!
this is so sos so good what a great player this man is, i just love this piece its so moving and played with such great emotion, i am hearing for the first time as i write this its just like a band playing it. brilliant stuff clive.
@pvail06 Thanks for sending me here Peter. You are so right. He is so musical and the feeling is exactly what we all should aspire to. Every note counts. Thanks again.
@archtopbrownie Thanks Lance for sending, this is indeed very special, this man has a great expression and the subtlety and depth here is simply out of this world, fantastic use of the looper indeed, great impro, I'm inspired,Vic.
