I really want to buy the movie. It was amazingly made, and dark. You hardly see any kid's movies that are disturbing these days :) The soundtrack is also spectacular, it has a playfull yet dark appeal to it in each song.

Even though it's all in gibberish (as it was basically proved in the DVD), people are still going to try and "translate" it into a sensible language. I think it's something the brain does automatically, it's trying to draw connections. There's a technical word for that, but I can't remember it.

On that note, I agree that the scene with Coraline in her parents' bed was very emotional. You really could feel how scared and alone she was. :(
