  • Are you serious...that's nothing...the other guy asked for it when he grabbed on to Grewcock's ankle. Soft really soft!

  • Danny Grewcock is a dirty player who is a permanent penalty liability, and a class A cuntweasel whilst on the field. Apparently a nice guy off of it though.

  • Grewcock is a temperamental dick, always has been always will be.

  • Great loyal player for Bath. Never one to walk away from trouble. Maybe Julian White should have tried one of his famous straight right hands on Danny, and got some back - with interest!

  • i would stomp on his arm too. Its fuckin rugby. suck it up.

  • An aggressive move by Grewcock. But you would expect aggression from anyone called Grewcock

  • if someone were grabbing my leg i'd stamp on the cunt!

  • stone wall red, end of story

  • I was with him too at West Point. I didn't know he got red carded... frekin big...

  • I worked with him last week he's a beast

  • @mcsteezeburger13 so did i. at west point right?

  • just a yellow card but its always the same thing against irish.

  • in all fairness to grewcock he made him let go of his leg didnt he lol

  • Henry you should have lamped him you fuker!!

  • Ferris was naughty, Grewcock was a c*nt

  • Ive played local club rugby for years and Id be well pleased to show off big Danny's stud marks to my mates... ;-)

  • Ferris was bending the rules, but seeing as Grewcock is over 18 stone that boot came down with some force, Ferris is lucky his arm wasn't shattered.

  • grewcock. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • he did not deserve a red card. the guy was holding on to his leg.

  • @GrungeMetalRocker How often though do you see that??? But people don't stamp on the guy!!! He over stepped the mark

  • @datnotfair

Actually about 3-4 years ago if any body tried that they would be trodden on! it was what made rucks so much quicker than they are nowadays! Ferris deserved it!

Grewcock should not have "stamped" on him, but the game has been allowed to turn into such a farce that it is forcing these kind of reactions! RIGHT on the try line, the defending player is being taken out of the game!

  • @bidefordrfc I understand if they are playing the ball on the ground or deliberately slowing the ball. All Ferris was doing was holding on to Grewcock's leg and I think it was an over reaction. If Ferris was doing something like I mentioned then he should have got a warning and nothing more.

  • @datnotfair

I disagree, look at the situation. Ulster had the ball, Bath were right on their own try line, grewcock was part of that line of defence at the fringe of that ruck. Ferris was taking Grewcock out of the game, he restricted Grewcocks movement therefore reducing his tackling abilities (if the ball was run his way). You talk about playing the ball etc, but that is attacking teams....this is about a defending team.

  • @bidefordrfc I see where you are coming from. In my opinion as Ferris is holding his ankle he is not restricting Grewcock's tackling ability if an attacking player decides to go over the ruck. Moreover, as Ferris is holding the back of Grewcock's ankle I don't think he is hindering the potential for a counter ruck either, therefore the resulting reaction being unnecessary and resulting in a read card. One of the many things about the great game where people have many opinions on the rule book.

  • @datnotfair

Well really, I sort of am half and half about the situation.... I don't particularly like to see this happen. But I believe that unless something is done to stop attacking players hindering defensive players then this is the only way to stop it.

See Nathan hines on lee byrne (hines being held and reacts and is given a yellow)

Paul O'connell held swinging arm and given a red card

Sean O'Brien on Nyanga, held back at a 5 metre scrum...

    Troncon clipped stringer...look them up.

  • Danny would smash botha in a scrap!

  • @pacificspotted LOL! You have obviously, a) Never played Rugby, b) Never understood Rugby, c) Never been to school. Ferris should not have grabbed Grewcocks leg, so Ferris was cheating and Grewcock reacted. Now go and read a book!!!

  • come on danny....... ur great except when u act like a prik

  • 1:01 Aww my heart bleeds :-D

  • jeez! EVERYONE knows most rugby boots have METAL SPIKES!!!! anyone should know that stepping on someone deliberately or by accident is gonna be bad when u have metal cleats on!

  • @jusaLOSER

yeh except they dont have 'metal spikes' on them.....have a look at a rugby boot on google images (im sure they'll show a picture of studs....

studs (or metal spikes as you refer to them) are actually extremely blunt..personally i dont think this was red card worthy, provocation is not an excuse but that was not so much a stamp in my eyes.. it was stupid but defending on your own try line and getting held gets reactions like that!

He deserved a yellow card at least, not red

  • Still no reason to stamp on the guys arm! Fucking hell danny!

  • have to agree with the ref, danny deservd the red card but this is rugby...Play on!

  • How on earth can you defend something like that?

  • nothing wrong with this, ferris decided to play dirty and illegally and the only way to get him off was to stamping- theres nothing wrong with stamping if its away from the chest/head region and without heels

  • At the end of the day I highly rate and respect Danny , playing on line like he does will get these kind of results ...it's rugby !!!! you know ..a contact sport ...tempers rise and things go wrong ....move on ..like he does.

  • should have let go of his leg, and its not like it was a head stamp or anything.

  • fuck off! Stamping should be ban for life. not to be tolerated in this beautiful game!

  • Ferris deserved it for holding on to Grewcock's leg. Play on.

  • @johnnytanini Holding onto someone doesn't excuse stamping ever - well done referee.

  • If only he could keep his temper he would have been up there with Johnson and Bayfield.

  • Grewcock is NO saint he was banned in 2007 for blantly punching a Clermont player. Some of the other contributors would do well ot remember there are rules in this game. English 6'6" or not he is a thug and deserves his 7 week ban.

    STAND UP FOR THE ULSTERMEN

  • that's brutal, even for danny...

  • Spoken like a true rugby fan.

    Oh no, wait...

  • yes mate exactly. what do french know about anything other than gouging and surrendering?

    COWARDS

  • Yer tbh i don't give a shit about stamping, i get stamped on nearly every match but gouging just makes you feel ill

  • absolutely a lad!

  • Grewcock is a scumbag

  • you stupid dick. He's an English legend. hard as nails. Find someone who would be willing to take him on. No dont think so. He smashed the shit into Chabal last season. He's a nuttaaaa! 6' 6" and 19 stone of pure English muscle.

    So fuck off

  • weyyyyy lad"

  • @edtri19 hahaha t'en as d'autres des clichés sur les français ?

More clichés about "fucking frogs" please !

  • grewcock's a tough bugger...and everyone knows it. So if I was a coach - especially of the old school variety - I'd select him every week, despite incidents like this, which I don't think was altogether that bad.

  • forgot to mention that he's an absolute workhorse....

  • Totally second. He's the sort of player need right now, such a shame that he's never known for being well tempered.

  • Grewock prend 7 semaines pour ce geste tandis que David Attoub prend 10 fois plus (70 semaines) pour une fourchette sur la base d'une photo truquée... Bravo l'ERC !

Attoub sanctionned 70 weeks for on eye gouge based on a touched up picture...

  • grewcock deliberate stamping, seen by the referee and the video: 7 weeks sentence.

Attoub: no proof at all except this photo nobody knows where it's from: 70 weeks suspension.

Once again we have the proof that british and french players don't receive the same treatment...

  • Disciplinary cases in rugby are a complete farce. There's no consistency whatsoever. Burger received an 8-week ban for sticking his finger in Fitzgerald's eye. John Hayes got 5 weeks for stamping on someone's face.

Gavin Henson got 10 weeks (reduced to 7) for accidentally farting within hearing distance of the ref.

Grewcock gets just 7, despite the fact his record reads like the memoirs of a serial killer.

  • Ferris involved again in some problems. Looks like the chap is a trouble maker after all, but he hide his game fairly well.

  • Whereas Grewcock is well known for his impeccable discipline?

He has no self-control and has no place in rugby. He does this shit all the time (to Peel's face in 2005, for example).

  • @moutarde16. You're an idiot, as much as an idiot as Grewcock. If you'd ever played rugby to a decent level, you'd know this. But you haven't. Nor ever will.

  • he was like this in his early playing days, i thought he wud have matured a bit. Pety play

  • direct red card. it's gonna heart

but what is funny here, is that grewcock may take 10 weeks on a clear video and Attoub took 70 weeks for an eye-gouging accusation on a photo...

    still searching for the mistake

  • Ye but attoubs offence was pretty horrific. One of the worst offences in the game. Grewcock stamped on the blokes arm cus he was being held. A couple of years ago that was legal. His ban shouldn't be too heavy.

  • @ piraterock87

Attoub's offence looked pretty horrific on the pic, that's right. Have you seen it ? He's got more than half of his finger into Ferris' eye-socket.

Well, it should have at least blinded him, at worse killed him (more than 5 cm right into the eye, well right into the brain).

But it didn't, as Ferris just finished the match.

It's seems to me that Attoub got incredible skills not to hurt other players' eyes while gouging them... Or maybe the picture was a fake.

  • Hey at least England have won a world cup how well have Ireland done in world cup competions?

  • Lol here we go, you'll be trotting that old nugget out in another 40 years, just like 1966!

  • he was holding his foot he diserved it.

  • What's the problem, hardly deserved a yellow, what is this rugby or netball?

  • 10/15 years ago Ferris is the one who would have been penalised A) for making no attempt to roll away and B) for holding onto Grewcock's arm and ankle.

I'm not saying Grewcock didn't deserve a card, and he did make things worse by lingering on Ferris' arm, but he didn;t just stamp on his arm.

Also, scrum halves are always kicking boots into rucks to free up the ball without getting penalised. Grewcock's only mistake was being stupid enough to do it in front of the ref.

  • I totally agree with you !

What Grewcock did is bad, but Ferris sort of deserved it.

  • any stamp is a red card

  • Actually it is a pretty bad challenge he should of got a red card really.

  • It is a pretty bad challenge but not a red oh and by the way not all bath players have taken drugs that's like sayin all harlequins players are cheaters or all Scottish people wear kilts

  • scumbag
