  • 80's Strat is that?

  • Thanks for sharing, good job!

  • Very good, thumbs up, I also have some great Hendrix covers, check it out!!! Keep up the good work!

  • Great bro!

  • Great. You have a great tone. Nice to hear this solo slowed down without too much gain and because of that we can hear the double stops that alot of so called professional players often miss out. A classy lesson, and very useful.

  • Wrong Wrong Wrong!! you didnt use your teeth... Nah very nice bro thanx for posting. I love the slow jam version

  • Nice ...

  • sick sound on your guitar...

  • Hey you know this helped me so fucking much to learn the solo. Thanks, you're amazing.

  • hey i know how to play it and am practically giving my fingers an orgasm with vibrato but still cant get that same sound ...is ur amp tuned in a certain way?

  • Really good. I'll learn this quickly thanks to you.

  • Wow.

  • @zeguitarman learn proper English

  • @SenoirSharpie ..fuck you ! ... is that proper english ? )))

  • @zeguitarman lmao well said

  • your tone is creamy bro

  • Great job! Don't be afraid to hammer the hell out of the strings though.

  • Great job! I'll be sure to practice this a bit.

  • Anyone who says Jimi Hendrix or any other professional guitarist does not know his scales is a complete idiot. It is virtually impossible to play past an intermediate level and create your own music without the knowledge of the fret board. How do you think solos and licks correlates with chord progression. Jimi did not know how to read music meaning the grand staff and all that confusing shit, which is the general way to read any type of music i.e. piano and any other strings.

  • beautiful guitar you have there

  • mmh....

maybe rehab is a good way to make your guitar sound better when u play without other instruments ;)

  • next time add more distortion or more "gain" setting, try a "fuzz" pedal maybe.

  • Wicked tone!

  • back to the blackboard

  • esta muy bueno!

  • i could turn my right ear off for this one

  • good example

  • gay

  • in my opinion hendrix wasn't the best, there are others who i prefer over jimi. by all means hes a god guitarist but there are others besides him. Jimmy Page is in my opinion better but thats just my opinion. Anyways, im pretty sure this is an e minor pentatonic.

    Cheers!

    Alex

  • Very well done. And even harder to keep it sounding good like you've done without distortion. Thanks for slowing it down for us to learn. Please do more songs.

  • Vintage strats sound so much better.

  • play it with your teeth just kidding lol but nice video

  • Good job man. Thanks for the inspiration - gonna go play around a bit on my guitar!

  • next time try putting a reverb on it

the solo is already perfect, it just helps

  • GREAT solo ... keep going..

  • Fuck man, whats the fuck is this shit about(Not the video, the video is great)

I come on here youtube, wanting to get inspiration about Jimi Hendrix licks.

And the first thing i see is people arguing about Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix.

    White vs Black.

Stay real man, Both were excellent players, and you can't compare them.

Its like saying that the mona lisa is bad, because it has so few colours, compared to the more psychedelic paintings.

    Bullshit, its about the art!.

Now go enjoy life, and art!.

  • Could you do a whole rendition, I just ant to download this because it sounds so beautifully clean :)

  • its e minor pentatonic except for the mixolydian note at the end

  • damn nice job dude

  • great job :)

  • Jimi, you are all people brother, we love you and miss you.

  • Juste.. excellent =D

  • ponle un poco de distorsion

  • ponle un poco de distorsion

  • So that's what a real strat looks like... It's funy how the fake ones can look so convincing in stores and when you hold them up... You never see the "stratocaster" on the headstock... i could cry...

    :'(

  • great!

  • Great playing, great sound, I tell ya....those 76ers ;-)

  • THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!

  • Nice vibrato

  • Here we have a great guitar lead, by one of the greatest guitar players in the world, that we all can learn. I hope you post more Hendrix. I'm becoming an excellent guitar player from all these videos. Thank you!

  • thank you so much :)))

  • @zeguitarman most accurate hey joe solo ive heard and ive looked at most of them

  • @conceptsmag i am glad to read that , thank you

  • Sorry guys, I just started playing guitar again, and i want a fender strat, i was just wondering what a trmolo was? thx

  • its the bridge with a whammy bar simply stated/

  • @COPTONER This guy isn't using the tremolo bar or pushing the bridge, if thats what you're indicating, he just has good hands. That is a good indicator of how well somebody can control their guitar, the better their vibrato, the better they are.

And zeguitarman has some killer hands, and tone. This is a very helpful video

  • @fpcrunner thank you very much :)))

  • hendrix is miles better than page just because pages songs are more complicated doent make him a better guitarist hendrix wrote his songs to sound amazing and portray how he was feeling and his songs are miles better than led zepplins plus hendrix was a miles better showman.

  • very sick... u got skills

  • Great video!!! Great playing!!! Thank you for sharing it with the world!!! I will have practice my bendings, LOL!

  • Jimmy's the best alright, Jimmy PAGE ! Hendrix was great with the blues, Page could do it all...except sing, but he sang through his fingers.

  • Page was an awesome blue player as well. Don't get me wrong Hendrix was and still is awesome but Jimmy Page is a God

  • jimmy page work very hard when young as a serious student how to play the blues like the ( black) masters... He copyed them, he also copyed the arabic and asian music ( especially gnawa music where the riff are so hypnotics) ; He is definetely not a god , his talent was he was the first in the popmusic story to do that things : electrify at the last level the blues and re organise the moroccan gnawa music in a white pop music way ...

  • your crazy bro, first that is e minor pentatonic plain and simple not a mix just a harmonic fringe sound is all. second page innovated the styles you say he copied, his talent wasn't regurgitating blues riffs it was playing them in ways never before thought of. next youll be saying robert johnson sucked at the blues or something

  • that is your right to believe its a E minor :)

Page was a hard copyer of the bluesmen just listen to Killing floor , whole lotta love etc.. and make some search to learn who wrote first the riffs of the songs or even the whole song or some words " i say that but like everyone who plays guitar i love some of the music of ledZep .Coltrane Hendrix Robert Johnson Debussy and Django Reinhard ( have you heard of them ? )

are some of the genius of the next century

  • @zeguitarman Claude Debussy??? Anyway, it is not true that Page was a copycat. He is one of the greats and I'm not sure what context was surrounding the E minor pentatonic debate, but if it was about Stairway to Heaven solo then yes - it was plain E minor pentatonic with the adition of the F note. And it is magic.

Jimi is by far the greatest guitarist, I lost count on how many times I've mentioned this on youtube. :)

    Peace all and enjoy life!

  • @CharlieCrucifix there is a mix actually, the fifth phrase is dorian

  • @zeguitarman I don't mean god in the traditional sense. As in a "Being" that you cant see, or hear or whatever. I just mean the guys a God. He's done way more than any "real" god.

  • @deanfarnaby

    Page is over rated.

  • @celloprofundo hendrix was much better :)

  • nice!

  • Nice playing, how long have you been playing?

  • Did some body say jimi wasint the best

    Lol

    Thats silly

Well yeah this was great btw i found it fun to watch i just love guitar with all my heart

    Thanks for making your vids

    You rock

  • key of e

  • fucking nice.

  • Man this solo is beautiful as hell=)

    R.I.P Jimi Hendrix

  • i think it lost the blue-sy feelin cuz its so tried to follow hendrix's solo exactly the same wihtout the actual mood

  • great mate ! 5 stars chek out my vanhalenized version ! ;-))

  • sweet fucking tone and smooth man nicee gota learn this what key is it in??

  • im pretty sure its e minor (pentatoics...)

  • I couldn't tell the difference between you and Jimi in this solo. Awesome!

  • rtfan13 can go fuck himself

  • its *****

  • Realy note to note... the best i hear. Its *****.

  • FENDER STRATOCASTER IS THE BEST !!!!

  • funny how stuff like solos are based on penatonics but jimi didnt even know what a scale was he just knew how to feel the music and ran with it. thats why hes the greatest to ever live.

  • hell yeah

  • hendrix wasnt the best

  • @rtfan13

If Hendrix is not the best... who is?

    Dont tell me it YOU!

it'll be hilarious if you say that.

  • Well its all your opinion about who's best and who's not.

  • lol not..duh he knew pentatonic...yeh man..scales

  • but doesn't that also go to show how well pentatonics work? it's really amazing that music theory works so well both to the ear and to your logic.

  • @fansofbands Jimi knew scales. every guitarist knew scales.

This whole 'Just play and feel the instrument' is advertised bullshit.

You think Jimi Hendrix came popping out and all on coincidence knew the blues scale? No.

Jimi learned it, by putting different things together.

Jimi RE-invented the whole Music theory, by watching all the great artists, and experimenting all the time.

  • @fansofbands jimi hendrix knew music theory contrary to popular belief. not doubting the man was a genius though

  • @fansofbands please please please !!! all of you fans of Jimi : please stop say that he did not know scales! that is unrespect for him ; Jimi was a great musician he knew all of the pentatonics scales and how did it sounds on every musical circumstances .major , minor and in the mix of the majors and the minor pentatonics ( when for example int he 7 9# chords.

Jimi knew more than the others musicians all of the pentatonic scales!

  • @zeguitarman i disagree. its not disrespect to say he didnt know scales. he was amazing and he didnt know them. how can u say he did? he just listened to records and just played by ear. he took wat the old blues dudes did and played it faster and eventually developed his own sound that has streched across guitar music history. it is not disrespect its more respectful because he didnt think he just felt. and thats wat makes a great musician!

  • @zeguitarman You mean he knew all four of the pentatonic scales?

Major, blues, minor, and Neutral? Wow...

  • @OMFGZeroFTW of course , By playing guitar every day and night , lot of hours at clubs or at home, at the army etc he experimented by himself all of the possibilities .so he his definetely the master who knows how do pentanics sounds , but also knoz how to use them with talent . he his till the end of the world the only , the greatest blues, modern and inventive electric guitar player /Django is in jazz/

  • @fansofbands This is a myth. Jimi knew the basics of music very well including the various keys and scales, though he probably would have been lost on the technical aspects of some of the more advanced scales and modes as they pertain to musical theory. Hendrix did not play just by "feel". He didn't learn to play by reading sheet music and correlating it with the corresponding notes on his fretboard. Many great musicians have managed to achieve virtuosity with their instruments this way.

  • great solo. sounds very organic

  • is very good

  • you rock

  • where did you get the backing track with jimi singing?

  • It only the CD ;)!

  • u r so ~cool~

    ^_^

  • excelence!!

  • Thankyou for doing this at a slow temp!! Helped alot :)

  • Not very accurate, but interesting nevertheless =]

  • Really excellent. I wish you were guitar teacher!

  • not matter how much i practice this solo it will never be as good as this guy.

  • The tone isn't right, you need to work on your amp settings, add more distortion or maybe just more highs.

  • how can i get a tone like that?

im pretty good on the guitar but am still not very good at messing with amps and pedals to change my tone significantly.

    great cover dude

  • damn i can almost play this!!!

  • im impressed!!

  • personally i prefer gibson sound but this guitar is like orgasm to my ears :)

  • OMG it is real fender?

  • of course !!!!!

  • how did much you pay ?

  • Isn't it more a Jazz style guitar solo if you're changing your scales with every single chord change? So Hendrix was going by a Jazz theory when he soloed?

    (Just wondering)

  • in the whole history of occidental music classical , jazz blues , gospel , country etc.( except free jazz or contemporary music) the notes of the melody ( an the solos) are taking from scale which depend of the chords change ! Hendrix play with a great feeling and instinct of the music , he has not worked the music theory at school or in books ...

  • ... he played so much guitar that the feeling of the relation between notes and chords , the colours of how notes sounds with chords is instinctive in him ! ZG

  • well said ZG, he was playing entirely by ear... didn't knew what was a note.

  • you can solo by chord or by key... its done in blues, rock, country.... not just jazz

  • thats awesome man, sick guitar as well fender stratocaster sunburst. awesome.

  • thank you all !

(ps 3000$ guitar at guitar shop evanston illinois:)

  • so sad my 250$ squier looks the same xD

  • But I think it sounds way different;)

  • dude i know that guitar anywhere--700$ at guitar center and its fender sunburst..

  • Guitara igual a minha

  • You got great tone out of that guitar, man.

  • This is a good lesson man, you've definitely mastered this solo better than anyone else I've seen. You're timing/vibrato is dead on.

  • thats pretty sick your tone pretty nice to

  • Wonderful playing, you are the MAN!!!

    Really cool!!!

    Congratulations!!!

    Keep with the Light!

    Thank you!

  • Thankyou !!!!!!!

  • WAOW

  • Jimi Hendrix Spirit livs on in every talanted gitar player. Nice work =)

  • awesome!

  • nice sound ...

  • I just started playing and that was just Wow man.

  • wow really fucking good mate =]

  • awesome dude... wow!

  • its based on the eminor panatonic. it doesnt mean it is only in it....

  • fucking ace man, fender twangg hendrix ! you play the blues really smooth, almost like second nature !

  • thank you !!!!!!!!!

  • Hey everyone stop taking the piss out of this guy his ace. Is that a stratocaster?

  • hello !yes it is a 1974 model (very hard to play ! )

  • what makes it hard to play?

  • the old fashioned neck !

  • hey man i got a 1967 fender strat but i still like urs nice playing keep it up

  • d4rkn3ss4lyf is right. That was a stupid thing to say. Its not about the complexity or the speed of which solos are, solos are an opportunity to express yourself, become one with the music and making it your own.

Great Vid dude, Hendrix is god!

  • lol everyone saying it sounds weak, it is cause it's not plugged in o.O
