The cleaners scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. I remember refusing to go into a public toilet and had to hold it in till we got home. :D

Yes it's silly, but that's party of it's appeal. Not to deep and emotionally like today. I know we didn't learn much about Mel, but we know far too much about today's companions. I don't want to know their families that much. I just want to see them travel to wherever. I like the studio based adventures sometimes, like Paradise Towers & Terror of the Vervoids. Fantastic!
