you did zero reps, its only a full rep if dumbbells are touching, and if bar hits your chest, not bounces, but hits, you didnt do either. Ps; im not a hater because im bigger than you and prob same age as you were there lol
you guys are fucking idiots. i could see if he wasnt going up much at all but going a lil over half or 3/4 of the way up is actually better to build muscle for a big chest. keeps a strain on that muscle through the whole set. use ur heads guys :)
i lift the same and have been doing so for years and its actually a great way to keep full tension on the chest dont lock out if you want to keep full stress on the pecs he is doing it just the right way to keep the triceps out of the movement. i have been a pft for a while and this is correct if you want full pec trauma. look at Ronnie Coleman, branch warren they do the same think they do not know what they are doing? if your split has its own arm day you would not want the extra tax
dude lower the weight an do full range of motion, the problem with kids ur age is u your too worried about impressing ppl, leave your ego at the door kid.
i can only say one this, dont let your ego get the best of you. Here clearly you have done that, chose a weight that you can preform properly. You called yourself a bodybuilder not a power lifter. Good luck.
hey man you got a great physique for your age! keep it up. you can handle some pretty hefty weights, however i think that if you lower the weight slightly and use the full range of motion you will get a better contraction. some might say that the top 1/3 of the movement is mostly triseps, and it is, but it still involves the chest. soo by includng that last 1/3 of the press you'll recruit more mucle fibers leading to better growth. also on ur flys try going lower for a full stretch. full ROM= :)
Yo Jesse. Sorry to say bro but that's over training brother. Trust me it took me a long time to listen to others but when I did I blew up. Peace much respect.
Good physique! That's a lot of volume. Guess that's coming back into style now given the way Cutler, Warren and some others are training.
People can always nitpick this or that ... the only thing I'd suggest you try (assuming you're Jesse) is moving the seat down on that Hammer Wide press (or decline, if that's what it is; I can't quite tell). Those were basically lock-outs. Not saying that isn't beneficial too, but the bread and butter of that particular Hammer piece is in the stretch.
@RussellHabs So what? He looks good, stop h8ing on others cause your skinny shit. If you want to make a comment then go help him do better flies instead of talking shit,
The reason for the shorter reps on the bench press is to keep tension on the muscle throughout the hole set (its called pulsing), when one locks their arms out at the top of the rep they are infact resting not to mention putting lots of strain on the elbow joints so when ever doing a bench press you should never completely lock your arms at the top although when pulsing the range of of the rep is even shorter. Anyone who hasn't tried it do it the next time you do bench press.
all im seeing is you moving around the weight. you have to contract your muscles if your bodybuilding whilst moving the weight and in the static postion which will lead to more growth. Also your range of motion stinks
He's doing shorts because , as he said , it never take pressure away from chest , when as if you were to do the full movement the triceps take over and finish off the workout, it goes reversable aswell, say you wanna hit triceps harder on close grip, you bench so that it dosent touch your chest and you do only the ending movement so that you basically take the chest out of the workout.
Ronnie Coleman does this too. I think its so the stress is never released from the chest unlike when you lock out. It makes sense because they are bodybuilders and don't really care about the weight or weather or not the lift would count in a power-lifting meet. I always complete the lifts though, my egos to big not to haha.
bench press- the grand daddy of body building exercises but sometimes less is actually more your range of motion is lacking because you use excess weight. also the hardest part of the move is the lower part. check out this fella roland kickinger now this guy goes above and beyond on his r.o.m. so keep it up still and reap what you sow.
i understand the not locking out part but in the decline hammer press you could afford to go a little further back, but its all good whatever style you like, keep up the good work brother
Actually he's doing what he's suppose to be doing. Keeping the tension on the muscle. Extending is resting and eventually you'll have joint problems. Go read a book first or try it before dissing this guy.
@mannyphresh1 i think its personal preference with how you flow when you lift weights. my flow is better by bringing it an inch above the chest then full extension. whatever works for you. as long as your making progress in reps/weight youre good
Why are ya so worried about his form obviously the kid is well built and that means hes doing something right
