Keep Secrets, like many other songs, were demos, which turned into a different final "version" for the album. Same with Uphill Battle -> On My Own, although I prefer Uphill Battle.

@XxDeceptoRxX yea uphill battle was a good demo. Keep secrets sounds a little better thought but thats my perception. Sounds like Alex didn't have much practice on this song. Bass sounds a little off tempo sometimes oh well he is still beast and the best drummer in the world

but alex is more than "fast," he's amazingly technical and pretty original. its pretty hard to argue that if he's not the best(which is really a matter of opinion) then he's definitely one of the top in this current generation of music

well i'll agree to that. i mean yes, he's original and all that and i'm sure he's great at what he does. personally, his drumming isn't my cup of tea. i just think he adds too much. there's a time and a place to go crazy and all that. i mean i love saosin, but sometimes i just wonder how the songs would sound if there was less stuff going on with drums.

thats the thing though! a saosin is just not the same without some insane drumming! pat(the original drummer) basically laid the foundation for any future saosin drummer on translating the name. he went insane on songs such as seven years and lost symphonies. alex basically has no choice but to basically keep it going, and now he's taking it to the next level

I think circa and current saosin are both amazing in their own ways. as far as skill goes saosin is winning. haha

alex rodriquez can pull the whole band by himself, then the guitarists are amazing too. circa really isn't on the amazing side because all the effects they use along with anthony's lyrics

Circa is by far one of the most inventive indie bands out there right now. All of the "effects" are natural tones of the guitar with pedals! And the drummer in my opinion holds his own quite well against Alex, being a drummer I should know haha! A lot of the things that the Circa drummer does are far more complex then what Alex does!

I think someone needs to REALLY listen to there circa cds. But I realize circa is not everyones cup of tea!

i know the effects are pedals, i've seen circa live, the guitarist's pedal board's are INSANE. , if you watch the documentery on saosin's myspace about them making the self titled, you can truly see how skilled beau, chris and justin are, some things are just ridiculous. but maybe i'm overstepping my bounds with the circa thing, i haven't listened THAT much in detail, but i will say i am stoked for the circa/saosin tour. :)

The Skylit Drive drummer is SOOOO generic and just, well plain. I really do not know what you see in him, he is nothing special. Yes I agree Alex is talented but CORY??? There are countless drummers that tear cory apart in terms of skills.

Drummers I am thinking of are like the Thrice drummer, Emarosa drummer, Misery Signals drummer, Valentino who was in Lower Definition (now in Of Mice and Men),Oh, Sleeper drummer (new one!), the guy in Texas in July, the guy in This or the Apocalypse and OF COURSE Matt Grenier from August Burns Red.

Idk I mean its really hard to say anyone is original cuz there are sooo many drummers out there. And when they all play in the same circle of music styles the drumming is always gonna be similar. But your right all those drummers are sick, I just stick with my opinion that I reallylike Corey cuz he is really good and there is no debating that. the drummers I mentioned can too. I hope you know the difference between style and texture! Cause all of the songs you mentioned are the same style of music. They are just softer and harder versions of rock. Styles of drumming is like rock, jazz gospel.If you think about it, the guy from Thrice is the only one out of everyone everyone mentioned that plays different styles!But I never was attacking Alex, I think he is amazing, I was saying that the guy from A Skylit drive is not that great!

Dude have you heard the ENTIRE new album? Because I have and I will tell you straight up its NOTHING like the self titled album. All the songs are slowed down and only like 2 songs really sound like self titled saosin. The Worst of Me and Is this Real.

I have definitly lost some respect for Saosin. Its really too bad because the self titled was such a great album. I think they just hit their "Sophmore Slump". I think their 3rd album will be better haha!
