I didn't hate this movie like I did Terminator III but it's not good. To be honest, after "The Sarah Conner Chronicles" I don't see a point in doing any more movies. That series took the story off into an area that can't be replicated by 2 hour films. Sadly, there was no season three but if they aren't going to continue that storyline, they should just bury the franchise.

Put Simply, the series should have been left alone after T2. Thats why I consider the first 2 as the "real" Terminator films since they are helmed by the brainchild of the franchise. The other 2 are more like homages to their classic predecessors. T3 was alright (at least it had Arnie in the main role). Something I've noticed about Terminator Salvation (pointed out by an RT Reviewer) there isn't one single original action sequence in the film.
Its just Apocolypse Now (even with the Napalm and River Scene tisk tisk), Transformers, War of the Worlds, Mad Max 2 (aka Road Warrior), Fortress (Christopher Lambert film), Aliens, The Great Escape, U571 (T3 Director Johnathon Mostow) and every straight to Video Sci Fi film.
Christian Bale is not nearly as bad as the rest of the narricissists and anarchists who infest hollywood these days.
I remember a report on headline news a year ago that trashed Christian Bale as "selfish" and "just another narcissist in hollywood". I thought the incident was bad, but I'm glad there were critics supporting Bale against these attacks.
