Everyone always says the guy is selfish. So is the woman, in my opinion. If I realized there was no way out for me, I would NOT want my loved ones risking their lives for me. I couldn't bare to witness it. I'd be the one screaming at them to run and save themselves. I wouldn't be screaming at them to help me.

Just the setting and the concept is scary - being in a boarded-up house with no light, trying to put it to the back of your mind that the country around you is full of things that want to tear you apart and that you can only stay hidden until the food and water runs out; that being holed up is only a good plan as long as nothing gets inside; that you can't escape the country because you're inland; that this isn't America so you have no guns... knowing you're fucked, but you have to wait to die.
I had to come back and watch this and then rewatch the movie again after seeing the Minecraft version. I was like...damn, gotta watch this movie again.
I just saw this movie. At first I thought it was pretty lame but I have to admit, the last 1/3 was bad ass. The set piece with the nerve gas, the car, and the soldiers with the flamethrowers and the part in night vision were very cool.
imagine these types of infected zombies against those stupid vampires on the deadliest warrior. the zombies easily would've won if they were sprinters not walkers
They were dead regardless if they let the kid in the house or not. I would have left him in it's the right thing to do, then to just stay inside as you hear him scream for mercy.
I'd like to say first, this is one of the better "horror"(quotation because making you jump doesn't equal scary) movies even though the original was better.
That said:
-Military fucks up with shoddy security zones, too early repopulation, and ignorant general
-Zero personnel in a biohazard zone plus random civilian with all access card
-Sparringly populated soldiers resulting in kids escaping
I'll count out Doyle, Scarlet, and the 12 year old kid for being too young and for bravery.
On the other hand, atleast these cheesy plot-points are educating the people in the REAL WORLD, giving us the knowledge we need to more likely survive, say, a hypothetical apocalyptic event which involves zombies/infected runners or the like.
So far, the only zombie movies/shows that I've seen that have actors exhibit logical thinking and reasoning pertaining to survival have been Zombieland and Walking Dead.

@samiccino I think at the end of the movie sam, andy and the pilot flew back to safe land and much like what happened in 28weekslater the infection somehow spread from andy since he was a carrier of the virus at the end of the movie. thats why at the very end scene you see the infected all the way into paris france. Obviously the infection was spreading across europe by the ending scene. Thats what i think atleast

An undead zombie and a Bio zombie. undead zombies are where the dead rise up and turn the living. pretty impossible irl. Bio zombies are created by a virus thats mutated and caused the brain to function strangely causing the individual to be more violent and loose all memory and human feelings, this individual then can spread the virus buy bite(saliva).could happen irl but very unlikely.
Yeah, techincally if you define a Zombie as the ones that appear in George Romero films like "Dawn of the Dead", then these are not Zombies as most people would define them.
That said this film and it's prequel do share a lot of similar themes to Zombie apocalyse-type stories. Most notably that in the end the real monsters are not the infected. It's the ordinary humans. This is true more than ever in the first movie.

The 28 (insert timespan here) later series is one of the most realistuc. By realistic, I mean it's all just an infection and they don't walk slow, they can run.

@samiccino I think at the end of the movie sam, andy and the pilot flew back to safe land and much like what happened in 28weekslater the infection somehow spread from andy since he was a carrier of the virus at the end of the movie. thats why at the very end scene you see the infected all the way into paris france. Obviously the infection was spreading across europe by the ending scene. Thats what i think atleast

An undead zombie and a Bio zombie. undead zombies are where the dead rise up and turn the living. pretty impossible irl. Bio zombies are created by a virus thats mutated and caused the brain to function strangely causing the individual to be more violent and loose all memory and human feelings, this individual then can spread the virus buy bite(saliva).could happen irl but very unlikely.

Yeah, techincally if you define a Zombie as the ones that appear in George Romero films like "Dawn of the Dead", then these are not Zombies as most people would define them.
That said this film and it's prequel do share a lot of similar themes to Zombie apocalyse-type stories. Most notably that in the end the real monsters are not the infected. It's the ordinary humans. This is true more than ever in the first movie.
