Some references are made in the commentary to the intent of the scenario designer. I'm the scenario designer. The design was not meant in any way to invoke the fighting on the invasion beaches in Normandy. The terrain here is actually based on a real world aerial photo of Syria. It is reminiscent of the bocage; I thought it reasonable that a fictional U.S. Army commander might name phase lines after the D-Day beaches given the passing tactical resemblance to French hedgerows.
@snoo333 Grenades don't actually cause friendly fire - luckily. I didn't use this as a game exploit, but did forget to toggle it off. A downside of real time play. Thanks for the feedback

Is the SPG9 really supposed to have such a short range? It had plain sight of ur stryker yet did'nt fire.
had the syrians had some Kornet ATGM's here...
Anyway, one of the downsides of fighting the AI ;)

two things:
first: the two squads on the left that took out the machine gun nest deserve metals.
second: you have to minimize the friendly fire, case in point the fire sector you forgot to remove on the right side w/ the grenade stryker.
