@StatenIzzy1 This isn't an American film. It's Italian, so hardly a dilution of the reality. And it's a horrendously dubbed version, which is a mutilation of Rosi's film. The guy playing LL is Gian Maria Volonte, who is one of the most superlative actors of his time. If, to you, he doesn't exactly resemble LL, he certainly has captured his physicality and his mannerisms, etc. Exact resemblance isn’t what’s most vital—capturing the essence and bearing is, which GMV does with considerable force.

@sweetcurmudgeon I've always wondered about The Night of...etc. Always sounded a bit like the Gunfight at the OK Corral. I wouldn't put it past Luciano but it sounds beyond his abilities, more like a black ops by the modern U.S. army.As well I don't think Luciano had to kill everybody to attain supremacy because the system he put in place worked and made sense.. a, and other thing, this movies are allways wrong, i mean theyre cool but are not like it really was, ex: in "Mobsters" Luciano kills personally to vincent Coll, and the reality was that Vincent Coll was killed in a Phonecab because of his battle with Dutch Schultz, im lazy so i wont givemore ex. but the lesson is that never say something based on this kind of movies
