THINK ABOUT THAT 9-11... 9-11-1931 that's 70 years before "ARAB" terrorists attacked the WTC building, man that would be a trip if it was like gay Italians and gay Jews and gay native American Freemasons and weird suicidal Mulattoes and Type 2 gay Klu Klux Klans men instead that, would mean that America attacked itself and then started a war for no reason...
lucky luciano is a relative of mine....and i dnt like the man who played him he dosent look like him....lucky in his younger days had very curly sicilian hair..but i guess th emainstream wanted him to straighten it for america
@StatenIzzy1 This isn't an American film. It's Italian, so hardly a dilution of the reality. And it's a horrendously dubbed version, which is a mutilation of Rosi's film. The guy playing LL is Gian Maria Volonte, who is one of the most superlative actors of his time. If, to you, he doesn't exactly resemble LL, he certainly has captured his physicality and his mannerisms, etc. Exact resemblance isn’t what’s most vital—capturing the essence and bearing is, which GMV does with considerable force.
@PathosDistanz this actor looks a lot like luciano----though he actually looks less like his old self in the clint eastwood spagetti westerns, where he was unshaved and dirty lookin.
both luciano and the actor who played him died of heart attacks!
@StatenIzzy1 Lmfao, relative of you, if you're relative of him, you wouldn't be here spitting out that you're his relative. Please be fucking original son.
@DannyBoyMRPG a really distant relative..my grandmother and his mother have the same last name...our familys never stayed in touch though....and anyone who would be an enemy of luciano is probably dead..and if they werent im sure they wouldnt kill me..because that woulnt do much to lucky..especially considering hes dead now
40 other bosses were not killed, that's bullshit. no one knows the exact number. masseria and maranzano had to go, they were mustache pete's who were tyrants.
Interesting. The Night of Italian Vespers never actually took place. As any expert on the mob will tell you, there wasn't any evidence what so ever of sudden national or local mass disappearance of mob bosses after Luciano's ascension to the rank of fist among equals in the mob. It is merely an attractive urban myth.
@sweetcurmudgeon I've always wondered about The Night of...etc. Always sounded a bit like the Gunfight at the OK Corral. I wouldn't put it past Luciano but it sounds beyond his abilities, more like a black ops by the modern U.S. army.As well I don't think Luciano had to kill everybody to attain supremacy because the system he put in place worked and made sense.. Thanks for your input.
@inari12700 no theres another movie called luck luciano..hes wearing glasses through out the whole thing..its a garbage movie but thats the name..this is called night of the sicilian vespers..u could even look at the title and the guy sez the name as soon as it starts
@elibest ok i believe u now but u dont have to lie n say u saw it in the theater..this movie is over 30 years old for christ sakes..what theater did u go to that would show this rare cut b movie..definbately not in america
what is it about september 11 thats such a coincidence. and all in the first year of a decade. george bush said new world order in september 11 1991, wtc 2001. mafia wipe out 1931 by lucky luciano
a, and other thing, this movies are allways wrong, i mean theyre cool but are not like it really was, ex: in "Mobsters" Luciano kills personally to vincent Coll, and the reality was that Vincent Coll was killed in a Phonecab because of his battle with Dutch Schultz, im lazy so i wont givemore ex. but the lesson is that never say something based on this kind of movies
hahaha believe me, i know those are just inventions of the media, the only ones hwo died that night where Maranzano and Gerardo Scarpato, lot of people where eliminated the day before the hit to maranzano but they were no more than 10, 15 maybe,
godbrother is right, he had 2 bosses killed. he killed joe masseria as he was a 'moustache pete' and a tyrant and then took out maranzano who was deemed far too autocratic and arrogant. he then formed the commision and consolidated/froze the five borgatas that were operating in new york!
Did he(Luciano) REALLY have 40 bosses (people) killed in ONE single night ???????? 40 "fn'" people !? Nothing in horror movies even comes close to that. If true that must have been worse than any horror movie even.
I don't know if it was 40 bosses. But I saw a biography on him and he REALLY did have all the other bosses killed to establish his position and power as the chairman of the mobb.
best scene, of a shit film.

you're right but best way to watch a film like Mobsters is 'this is the gangsters response to young guns'
