how about this everyone... we stop giving a shit about genres because all they are are titles given to certain sounds in music to help us organize what we like into a specific name. It is not worth arguing about.
@justfukoff88 They're basically the same, honestly, the only real difference is that crust is a bit heavier, I suppose. D-beat is more like super heavy hardcore, (D referring to Discharge,) but honestly they're basically the same, and a lot of bands fit the bill for both categories haha. Or, at least, that's how I understand it. I've always considered Doom to be more crust, but either way is fine, I'm sure.
@decrystallized nice explanation , i agree entirely , musically i still love even now grind / power violence / hardcore punk / crust / d beat .
I love doom and discharge still now too ,but i always lent towards doom just because i loved there music a tad more , although discharge make great songs .i am still a big ent fan too .
im pretty fucken sure crust was around first, then d beat came out as a new thing some bands made up, its more like sludge core and grind core combined with the breakdowns, slow to fast music. UP THE CRUST PUNKS! LONG LIVE DOOM! they are coming to pdx in just a bit! CANT WAIT!
youre right,theyre kinda the same,but nobody ever refers to say extreme noise terror as d-beat or anti-cimex as grind/crust so i guess the difference is really the delivery
@justfukoff88 personally i dont give a shit what genreis, its just stereotype given by mediAS! fuck the mediAs! I call that hardcore punk music, but its just music
@justfukoff88 it'sjust because people don't know what real crust truly were, because these type of hardcore punks were the one that would never use a soap to wash'emself and never cut their hair , but they were only a few of them and they dont exist anymore,, i mean band like doom, its hardcore punk, so just fuck off
@Melvin0082 This local band here in spokane washington was like "you fuckers like crust punk?" and i was all like fuck yaaaaaa! ... then they played some fucking retarded trippy ass slow music... point of the story... people has lost touch of the roots of it all :/
Ask the band and they will probably say its Hardcore, same with ENT people argue if they are crust or grind, they say Hardcore.
