Other STUFF??? A 'theory' in science is the highest level of certainty of knowledge.  One of the things a theory MUST be is 'falsifiable'. This means - if x,y or z happened then the theory would be proved false, i.e. the theory of gravity would be proved false IF occasionally objects fell upwards. The theory of Evolution would be proved false IF just ONE species could be shown to have arrived spontaneously on Earth, in it's existing state, with NO fossil or DNA trail from Earth's tree of life.
