Considering how long they have to go college (4 years), and how long it takes to pay off student loans. Your life is already in the negative before you even start your life. Now i'd agree with you if the winner was hand picked out of a stack that they personally look at. But they really are randomly picked, so it's all a matter of chance. To put it another way, we pay an insurance premium for the value of the prize -- the insurance company would then pay the winner, so it doesn't matter to us.
