hey Great video man people like me need this. I was wondering, if i wanted Airborne or Rangers, do i ask for that on my contract or do i wait for a slot? Thanks, sorry if its a bad question. thanks
@jobless4life No thats not a bad question! if you want to be airborne and/or ranger you can try to get that in your contract if you are going to be an 11b infantryman. if not, try to earn a slot at basic by doing very well on your PT tests
But it's still fun though. It might be hard to believe, but by far the worst week was weapons which is weapons which is during white phase. You will get the least amount of sleep. You will learn the most during that phase and you will have countless hours of weapons maintence and cleaning. I loved it though. I wish I was still in, but medical reasons prevented me to keep up with Military standards so I had to be discharged
@SuicidalScout Hey man thanks for the comments. do you have to take apart every weapon system you get to fire? sorry if that's a stupid question. Cav Scouts are definitely highspeed! maybe even a little more so than infantry. Sorry to hear about your discharge but atleast you had some good experiences while you were in
@Fuzionrider Yeah you learn to take apart and clean every single weapon as far as it'll go. You will do it over and over and over. it'll be done so much you won't feel your hands, but it helps you remember. We were also tested on it after white phase. We had a certain amount of time to take it apart and put it back together or we failed.
@SuicidalScout dang thats kind of making me nervous..im sure theres alot of things to memorize with the m4, m249' AT4, m203, etc etc. i hope they give us a decent amount of time to take them apart and put them together. when did you go to basic man?
@Fuzionrider I shipped to 46AG at Knox Feb.9th 2010 and shipped to the Disney barracks to start training on the 19th. Well we had the M4, M249, M240B, M203, AT4, 50Cal, MK19 and grenades as well. We were in groups of 3-4 and we had about 30 minutes before we were tested so we could move to another one. It's very easy. like a minute and fifteen seconds ever weapon can be taken apart. It's not as hard as it seems.
@SuicidalScout Well I guess i will just figure that out when i get there. lol. im actually nervous about making my rack the right way with the hospital corners, haha. im bad at little things like that for some reason. I'm just getting ready for red phase..I hear its pretty difficult and mostly smoke sessions..
@Fuzionrider Don't be afraid. It's all mental. As far as beds go. You will have A LOT of practice if it's anything like I had. You will make it. They will thrash it. You will make it again. They will thrash it again. We did that for like hours a day. Same with lockers. You would get it right. They would toss it. You would do it again. And they would toss it again. That's really what makes red phase bad. The repetition of everything and being told nothing is ever done right when in it really is.

I believe you said in another video you were going to Leonard Wood. I went to Fort Knox for 19D OSUT. We also had to know the Army song and we also had to know the definition of each of the seven army values. You might not have to, but I just know we had to learn it while at reception. Even though I was in OSUT it wasn't bad. Really just listen. Be in the right place at the right time in the right uniform and it'll be fine. You will always be in trouble and nothing will ever be clean enough.
I was always told just do as you're told and you're fine. But even if you do that, you'll sometimes forget things and that will get you in trouble. Happened to me many times. Shaving was a problem for me while in Basic.

Thats good that you have all that memorized already at this stage. Can only make things that much easier once you get to basic training.
