This video is very personal to me. I am in RCIA classes and I needed to chose a Conformation Name. I have chosen St. Josephine Bakhita. I believe the Holy Spirit led me to this video. Thank you for posting it. Very moving!
What a beautiful testament to faith in our God. and thank you for showing that the Catholic church does fight for justice as the nuns protected Our Little Brown Mother. Jesus never forgot her name.
I'm glad I clicked on this video. I had never heard of St. Bakhita before now...but from this point on I won't forget her. This warmed my heart. I'm glad that she finally got her freedom and the respect she so greatly deserved in life. After learning of St. Bakhita, I feel as though it might of been a sign during this time of hoplesness i'm experiencing. I humbly ask for St. Bakhita's intercession in my health right now. I would forever be endebted and spread the word of this beautiful St.
In Wilmington Delaware, Brother Ronald Giannone, Ministry of Caring founder, is promoting anti White racism. " "our preference is to hire minority people.." in his effort to build a Bakhita facility.
Spreading hate of Whites and Arabs is the Zionist agenda, not the Gospel of Christ. Pope John Paul II was Jewish. (her sainthood granted under his reign)

I am so grateful thanks for uploading this information. I was actually present at St Peters on 1st October 2000 when Pope John Paul II made her a saint. She is amazing i love her to bits and ask for her intercession, for me and my family. She really is one of my favourite saints.
This is a very touching story about saint josephine bakhita, i love it..i felt really touched when i read that she was kidnapped and sold twice and never came back to her parents. i love that she was happy when she grew up and found peace, god bless you saint josephine bakhita
Thank you very much for this version in english!Recentlly ,I saw the film and i was very impressed!Ppl needs such models for a better understanding about love, forgiveness, kindness and faith.God works through some ppl,why they are not really popularised in mass-media?
when i was 9, i went to a boarding sch in africa, and i had book about St.Bakhita that friend gave me. I got in trouble because i was reading it at 12am while everyone in the dorm was sleeping, it was my fifth time to read it but the story moved me and made me cry. I decided that i should do good deeds and become a saint. LOL,i was young and silly but the story on saint Bakhita is one everybody should know
@seekyefirst - don't you know that you can pray to Jesus DIRECTLY? He loves you and you need NO MEDIATOR. He is so wonderful, he will hear your sincere prayer. God bless you!
Yes I know this. But believe me I need as many people praying for me as possible, including the saints, maybe you could say a prayer for me too. Pray Pray Pray.
@seekyefirst - I will indeed. I will pray that God will lighten your path and give you true joy and if you have a heavy burden, that he will take it away or allow you grace sufficient to bear it! God bless you x
@canstusdis - yes, I ask people to pray for me. You are right. But I meant 1: dead people can not pray for us (except Moses and elijah who we know are in heaven from the Bible), and 2: we CAN go to God ourselves. It is not a requirement to have someone pray for us. That is the wonderful privelige from God. God bless you :-)
Dead people can't pray for us??? If not, why offer an exception? Does this exception extend to all those in Heaven? What about Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? Matthew 22:32 God is not the God of the dead, but of the living."
How do you explain the Parable of Lazarus? Luke 16:27-28 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldst send him to my father's house" The rich man is praying to 'father' Abraham. He is interceding for his five brethren.
@canstusdis - Ecclesiastes 9:5 "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward..." There are some in heaven that the Bible tells us of. But generally when we die we die...until Jesus comes back and then his follows will go with Him and those that chose not too, won't. The Bible strictly forbids iwe pray to the dead all through. No disrespect to you. But we ALL need to read Bible more not be duped into falsehood. God bless you.
@hihosilverlining2 No disrespect intended silverlining, but Ecclesiastes is Old Testament. Do you have any New Testament (Christian) verses to back up your beliefs? Catholics do not believe in praying to the dead. We ask the living to pray for us. If the Bible strictly forbids this, please quote a verse. And you didn't even try to answer any of the questions I posted above. Could you at least admit that it's possible that there are more than two people in heaven (Moses and Elijah)?
@hihosilverlining2 Dead people can pray for us. When in Purgatory, you can not pray for yourselves, meaning that they are probably either praying for forgiveness or praying for the people on earth. But you can pray to Saints to help us. And they are dead, are they not?
@AdoxagraphyAngelus - Hi my friend. I really believe you are sincere so thank you for your comment. But really, without intending to be rude to you at all, where in the Bible does it talk about Purgatory? In the Bible, the only way a person can be saved from the sin that we ALL bare is through accepting Jesus as their Saviour and living by Him. If it were possible to be saved by any other means, why did Jesus have to die? These traditions arent Biblical. Pls check for yourself x
They made a two part film in Italy about her, it was on last night and was meant to be on tonight but with what happened in Italy nothing much is being shown other then the news, Pray for those victims of the Earthquake
Thank you. I saw a documentry on St Josephine Bakhita on EWTN. I cry it is so sad the suffering she went through. It makes my suffering seem so small like a piece of dust. A modern day saint!
St. Josephine Bakhita, you suffered slavery of body. Pray for us who suffer the slavery of unrepentance. You suffered because of your dark skin, we suffer because of our dark minds. May your prayers touch the heart of God , that he may grant us the grace of faith and conversion.
Thank you to everyone who has commented so far, i read every comment that is posted, and i am constantly amazed and pleased by what you all say, thanks so much
thank you for watching and commenting, i had never heard of this Saint till just recently, what a hard life she had. I love how when she finally got her freedom she decided to stay with the Nuns
