Janet is unique in that there's a little sense of disciplined restraint to her stage performances. She's fierce and dead on with every movement, but it's not so forced and in your face (ie. Beyonce). Just very cool and keeps your eyes glued to her. Very simliar to Michael in that respect.
That's what I love about the Velvet Rope tour--it's so natural, so much more organic and more urban than her other tours. Very basic--singing live, dancing perfectly, a great band, etc. but somehow she makes it all so interesting. She was so beautiful here too.
So easy to forget that Janet is a great entertainer herself who is another classical performer. She was bad back in these days and I think that she will back with a passion considering everything that has happened.

I totally agree with you. I think the Velvet Rope dancers were good because Tina Landon was the choreographer and the dancers were closer in age to Janet and they were her friends off the stage. Janet's new dancers are talented, but are way too young and do not have any chemistry with Janet.

Her albums were legendary and now I feel they arnt as good as they used too. If she did an HBO special today im sorry to say I dont think many people would watch... I would but I just think shes gone down in popularity
i'll tell you what happened, she has to get back with jam and lewis first, and then i hate to say this, but i don't think that she and jermaine should work together on her music anymore because they have two different muscal styles and it just doesn't work with them. and last ever since that superbowl show it's like the industry just turned on her, it's a little better now, but they really punished her for that even though i don't think that it was done purposly, & she needs to find a good label
