Besides being a bit lacking in power, the Expedition still absolutely humuliates the Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, and Escalade in every single way. I've driven both and the GM SUV's are unacceptable compared to this. Not to mention if you want a loaded GM full size SUV or a loaded Toyota Sequoia the prices are insultingly higher than the Expedition. My dads also owned 2 GM full size SUVs that have had unacceptable reliability issues. The Expeditions don't seem to have the problems of GM products
@flyerscout123 I have a 2000 explorer and only replace the transmission cooler because i crash the car, it has 94500 miles on it and i don't replace any part :D
@richimaor97 2003 Expedition EB, 197k miles, and there was no issues about it :). Still started normally, no leaks, no replacements except on the brakes and tires, and it still had so many more miles before anything could happen.

This vehicle is just amazing. I just had a test drive last week and I immediately fell in love with it. Now I'm actually buying this beauty, they should deliver it in a couple of days :) The Ford Expedition is definitely the best SUV in it's class.
@CrashJSTest But most people, especially in Texas(Where I Live), simply dont want a foreign manufactured car. Who care if they get 2 more miles to the gallon. Maintenance in foreign manufactured cars is higher than american manufactured cars because the parts (Toyota for example) they use are not made in america. and if you live in a remote area of the country, your cost can go from $200-$400 easily. By the way, have you ever owned an Expedition?

it doesnt matter if dodge has a more powerful motor because their transmissions just gonna crap out on you in about 30000 miles maybe even less and then the motors gonna be about as good as a 400lb noise maker
i've just been in a 5 car accident in my 2010 expedition and nothing happened to me and the car's doing fine compared to the other cars only the bumpers are a little bit messed when ford said they're built tough they're saying the truth and yes they're better , safer and stronger than any other big SUV in the market today.
this is nice and all, but the Tahoe and Suburbans are better, there more safe, more fuel efficient, better looking, around the same price, more capable, and the best. Tahoe will kill this, and if expedition wants to fight back, suburban comes and finish the fight quickly.

my dad has the 08 expedition and its awsome and we have the dvd player for long trips like the mountains and the shore and only need 6 seats and it seats 8 so we have alot of room for moving around

@watso64 my friend has a 2010 f-350 the truck runs beautifully, accelerates, stops, hauls cargo and definitely can get through a trail outdoors and gets great gas mileage for its size, domestic cars have definitely improved in the past few years and im glad to see it happening

Sorry guys but the only thing this vehicle has over the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/Yukon XL/Escalade/Escalade ESV is power folding third row seats. We have more powerful engines, specially the 6.2L V8, and we have better MPG. Plus the Cadillac Escalade got #1 SUV award of the year with GMC Yukon Denali in second and Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ in third. GM has the market when it comes to SUV's. Its just the way it is. Sorry Ford. May The Best Car Win.
that was the gayest truck I ever ridden in, I hate riding in this Truck because I had to ride in the freaken Third Row Seat allot when my brother rented this thing in Hawaii last year,l I'm glad to be home in Arizona so I don't have to ride in the freaken 3rd for seat of this Freaken Truck.

the 0-100 is awesome. under 7 sec for my ford expedition 2005. it has a 5.7L triton under the hood stock. and i beat chevy,gmc,honda,licoin,hummer and jeep.why is he it is worse thn all those cars?
here in our country the Expedition is labeled as "The King", especially for out-of-towns if you want to bring 8 people on board, nothing is more comfy and the dvd player system is great to have. no chevy suburban can touch this!
@libetta honestly i much prefer the excursion to the expeditions. although fuel mileage is the biggest downfall obviously. it still more than make up for it in towing, ride comfort, luxury, plenty of leg/cargo room, and of course. safety. hehe i doubt you would even notice hitting a prius in an excursion. i just wish they sold more of them so ford wouldn't have had to cut it from production. but these are all just an individual's outlook on things.

@libetta not really. the reason why they did not sell is because nobody really an suv of suck size. it was a full 8 inches longer 6 higher and 4 wider than the suburban. and weighed alot more. so if you picked a gas engine. you would be lucky to get 15 mpg highway. so the combination of its shear size and poor fuel economy is what killed it. ive drove in many excursions before. including the last year before the killed it, 05. and with a 5 speed auto it drives beautifully.
Nissan doesn't sell anything called the "Patrol" in the US; the Nissan Armada is that company's offering in this market segment. also, the Jeep Commander is smaller than the other four. anyways, I guess (1) Ford, (2) Toyota, (3) Chevrolet, (4) Jeep, (5) Nissan. I wouldn't buy any of them though.
I'd like this Ford with a bit more quality interior (especially the center console) and another engine... VW's 4.2 liter V8 with 350hp for instance ... more powerfull + more economical
These Expeditions are so cool to me. Also they are so much more comfortable then the Toyota Sequoia. This would be THE SUV to get if I was in the market for one.

Well, i have owned both yukon xl and and expedition but yukon xl handles like a cargo van since i have 2, but the expedition handles like a saloon car very smooth and the torque on this vehicle is amazing.

With GM you don't have to worry about that, in our GMC Yukon Denali and in The Cadillac Escalade's we have a 6.2L V8 with 403 Horsepower and 425 Lb-Ft. of torque. Even the 5.3L in the Tahoe has more Horsepower and torque then the Expedition. Sorry Ford. may The Best Car win.

no car company is better than ford. I wouldn't drive any other car besides it, well except my volvo, but volvo is owned by ford anyway. If you are ever looking for a car, ford motor companies are the only way to go. My expedition has 300,000 miles and is running like new i love it

@watso64 my friend has a 2010 f-350 the truck runs beautifully, accelerates, stops, hauls cargo and definitely can get through a trail outdoors and gets great gas mileage for its size, domestic cars have definitely improved in the past few years and im glad to see it happening

I love how you say you have to remove them, when you don't. All you have to do is, fold them flat, then fold them up against the second row seats, and done. With our seats folding up we still have more cargo then your folding flat seats. Sorry Ford. May The Best Car Win.

Sorry guys but the only thing this vehicle has over the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/Yukon XL/Escalade/Escalade ESV is power folding third row seats. We have more powerful engines, specially the 6.2L V8, and we have better MPG. Plus the Cadillac Escalade got #1 SUV award of the year with GMC Yukon Denali in second and Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ in third. GM has the market when it comes to SUV's. Its just the way it is. Sorry Ford. May The Best Car Win.

that was the gayest truck I ever ridden in, I hate riding in this Truck because I had to ride in the freaken Third Row Seat allot when my brother rented this thing in Hawaii last year,l I'm glad to be home in Arizona so I don't have to ride in the freaken 3rd for seat of this Freaken Truck.

the 0-100 is awesome. under 7 sec for my ford expedition 2005. it has a 5.7L triton under the hood stock. and i beat chevy,gmc,honda,licoin,hummer and jeep.why is he it is worse thn all those cars?

here in our country the Expedition is labeled as "The King", especially for out-of-towns if you want to bring 8 people on board, nothing is more comfy and the dvd player system is great to have. no chevy suburban can touch this!

@libetta honestly i much prefer the excursion to the expeditions. although fuel mileage is the biggest downfall obviously. it still more than make up for it in towing, ride comfort, luxury, plenty of leg/cargo room, and of course. safety. hehe i doubt you would even notice hitting a prius in an excursion. i just wish they sold more of them so ford wouldn't have had to cut it from production. but these are all just an individual's outlook on things.

well if the excursions indeed have better towing, ride comfort, luxury, leg/cargo room or safety than the expedition, the sales wouldn't have gone down and they wouldn't have replaced it with the expedition el. even the previous generations expedition have better ride comfort and luxury.

@libetta not really. the reason why they did not sell is because nobody really an suv of suck size. it was a full 8 inches longer 6 higher and 4 wider than the suburban. and weighed alot more. so if you picked a gas engine. you would be lucky to get 15 mpg highway. so the combination of its shear size and poor fuel economy is what killed it. ive drove in many excursions before. including the last year before the killed it, 05. and with a 5 speed auto it drives beautifully.

Nissan doesn't sell anything called the "Patrol" in the US; the Nissan Armada is that company's offering in this market segment. also, the Jeep Commander is smaller than the other four. anyways, I guess (1) Ford, (2) Toyota, (3) Chevrolet, (4) Jeep, (5) Nissan. I wouldn't buy any of them though.

Well, i have owned both yukon xl and and expedition but yukon xl handles like a cargo van since i have 2, but the expedition handles like a saloon car very smooth and the torque on this vehicle is amazing.

With GM you don't have to worry about that, in our GMC Yukon Denali and in The Cadillac Escalade's we have a 6.2L V8 with 403 Horsepower and 425 Lb-Ft. of torque. Even the 5.3L in the Tahoe has more Horsepower and torque then the Expedition. Sorry Ford. may The Best Car win.

sorry tahoe, but expedition's full size torque is more ample than tahoe's, plus the 6 speed transmission to back it up, all make for a better acceleration and smoother shifting. the best suv has won again, in ford expedition

@libetta If you knew anything about cars you would know that GM has a six speed hydromatic transmission with auto-manual and if the 5.3 is not enough power for you, you can always upgrade to the 6.2 that blows anything ford has out of the water. Btw you do know that there are 4 tahoe's to 1 expedition in todays market. not including the yukon, yukon xl, escalade, escalade esv, or suburban. sorry, but SUV's is GM's Market.
