  • Remember the early morning walk back from the WG to the pier! The spars met along the way, the heady stomp, stomp, stomp heard from a distance was so amazing and eery. I fell in love with a gall from Newcastle (Jackie a top blonde spinner) and fucked it up in my head speeded race around. Halceyon days indeed!

  • Hi Sqwarun, thanks for the kind comments!

The first track, which is one of my all time favourites, is 'Come Go With Me' by Gloria Jones, the same lady that did 'Tainted Love'. You can get that track on the Goldmine CD 'Come Go With Us'

    Cheers mate!

  • cleethorpes weekender is brilliant. Ive been to 14 of them. Altho Prestatyn has taken over as the biggest and the best Cleethorpes is very special and was the original weekender before there was one a month to go to. Long Live Cleethorpes 6Ts weekender. xx

  • I was at the last winter gardens nighter in 1976 never could face returning as it was one of the saddest days of my life, still listen to the music though and still great.

  • Why so sad?

  • i was there too. i hear it is now being knocked down. those were the best days of my life

  • Is it? We're there in June for the 6t's weekender and I've not heard it's being knocked down. Hope I'm not in it if they do :D

    WOOOHOOOOO bring on Cleggy :D

  • are we talking about the wintergardens. it was knocked down sadly in summer 2007

  • I was at the 1st Cleethorpes weekender and you couldn't get on the dancefloor, it was that rammed. How times have changed!!!

  • Hi d0ubledr0p, I think numbers have dropped in recent years, but to be fair most of these shots were taken late afternoon while the light was good and the place was quiet, and of course the dj's dancing comp only had the dj's on the floor. During the main sessions the floor still gets packed! Thanks for taking the time to comment!

  • Now I get it! Thought the floor was a tad empty. I've just dug out my programme 4 the '93 weekender which featured live acts from Mary Love, Willie Tee and Tony Middleton.

  • Times haven't changed at all.. it's still rammed!

  • @d0ubledr0p

I remember the Pier and Winter Gardens, now those were RAMMED!

  • wahahaha!! nice video!!
