  • I dug how they promoted the upcomming events - one rassler would get just steamed at his upcoming opponent then get all up in the camera, spittin and shakin his finger - "I'll see you, Arn Anderson, next Saturday Night at 730 in the Hickory National Guard Armory!!!" It was great.

  • Does anyone know where Big Bill Ward is from? I know he worked in Charlotte, but his earlier history (before 1960) is vague at best.

  • Man those were great days for wrestling. George Becker and Johnny Weaver were a successful tag team for a long time.

  • This is a classic!!!

  • I've said it before, and it bears repeating: This was when wrestling was Wrestling!

  • Oh Man! Big Bill Ward and WBTV in Charlotte! I remember watching this Saturday afternoons! This was classic Wrestling; Great Bolo, PY Chung (throwing salt in the face of his competition), George Becker and his Abdominable Stretch hold, Johnny Weaver and the Sleeper, Abe Jacobs and his Kiwi Leg roll, the Original Nature Boy, Buddy Rogers, Two-Ton Harris, the Flying Scotts - George and Sandy Scott... the list goes on and on. Man, does this bring back memories! Thanks a Million for posting this!
