I definitely want to plan a goonies adventure sometime soon!! I'm in California so Oregon is only a 2 hour plane right. It has to be in the rainy season though.. wouldn't be the same w/o the fog and rain just like the kids experienced it over 25 years ago.. WAY TO GO MAN.. AWESOME VID!!

I saw this film in the theatres when it came out in 1985. I'm a 80's mega fanatic! You did a very exemplary video that congruously illustrated the times! I've always been on and off brought back to The Goonies! A true childhood favorite film of mine! I was roughly 7 years old in 1985! Dave Grusin's Soundtrack for this film is totally dope!!! I miss Kerri Green! Cyndi Lauper - man it was happening then. Red Dawn, The Neverending Story, The Last Starfighter, Starman, War Games,etc. Great OSTs too!

Great video. My wife & I just went there this past March. It was beautifull there in Astoria. We both said that we could easily live there & not just cuz of the Goonies either lol Thanks for sharing & by the looks of it I did find where the restaurant was by refrence of your video, I had to go on my Goonies instinct and I was right LOL

Oregon is pretty cool, but make sure you drink enough water and drive carefully. A subculture is entrenched that I first saw at work in Cal.State Long Beach, that wants to make you look stupid, get angry, feel guilty, look stupid, get angry, feel guilty, etc. They designed the roads and curbs and center dividers in places like South Jetty Road in Florence and Coos Bay. Espresso drinks come with 4 shots. Don't worry about Washington, it's impossible to miss your turn-off and you can pee anywhere.

Good question. The restaurant exterior was built for the movie at the approximate location of the picnic table you see in the posted video above. No doubt, as is standard operating procedure, the set was "struck" (i.e. torn down) after filming. Interior shots were filmed inside a studio (I don't know which soundstage number).

The land is probably public owned, but boy could they make a fortune if they built a replica (but working) restaurant.
