I have never just arbitrarily advocated the death penalty,(we abolished it in the UK decades back),but in some cases it sways my opinion on the side of it.I've been told it actually costs more to execute a prisoner rather than keep him/her in prison for the rest of his/her life!Given the length of time it takes to actually execute someone I can understand why! Some people clearly seem beyond all rehabilitation and will never serve any useful purpose!

There was a documentary on a man who the police scared so bad he confessed to a murder he didn't commit. When in prison he said he wasn't guilty and the confession was false. He was sentenced to life in prison. 20 Years later they figured out he wasn't guilty when the real killer was found and DNA evidence was matched.

I believe in the death penalty 100% Aslong as there is enough evidence to link the person to the crime then they should suffer the same fate as those they killed. But not electrocution, i think hanging is best and less of a waste on tax payers money. Did you ever consider the problems arise when you legalize the death penalty? you cant just kill someone. what if he turns out to be innocent? there has to be alot of investigation to make sure he's guilty. second. in a society where the government kills people, even if the reason is justified, killing becomes more normal, and there will be more murder. and before you deny this immedietly, take a look at america's murders per year compared to non-capitol punishment countries.

@getalife04 Well there is an issue. Sometimes when people are convicted of murder they are later found to be innocent when new information surfaces. There was a documentary on a man who the police scared so bad he confessed to a murder he didn't commit. When in prison he said he wasn't guilty and the confession was false. He was sentenced to life in prison. 20 Years later they figured out he wasn't guilty when the real killer was found and DNA evidence was matched.

The guy I mentioned was later found to have a severe anxiety disorder. His case was considered proven beyond a reasonable doubt. You aren't convicted if you aren't proven beyond a reasonable doubt. The problem is that everyone has a different view of "reasonable doubt".

I believe in the death penalty 100% Aslong as there is enough evidence to link the person to the crime then they should suffer the same fate as those they killed. But not electrocution, i think hanging is best and less of a waste on tax payers money. However if i was in charge i would have them thrown into a small room with no window just a dim light and be given a razor blade and left to kill themselves that way they cannot enter heaven as they commited suicide themselves.

Everyone is capable of murder. I mean the difference is most people are able to control themselves and not act on this. Haven't there ever been times in your life where you were so angry and you wished they would die? I mean this sounds horrible but most likely this happens. Some people aren't able to flip that switch off.. some people act on it. So yes I do think that most people don't commit murder because they are afraid of the consequences. No one is perfect.
