no offense but something tells me that would give me the runs.lol I wonder if you could add crushed walnuts or almonds to it or just have them as a snack after?
@wildmutt1978 You could probably add anything. When i was into bodybuilding/powerlifting we used chocolate meal replacement meals and a a small cup of peanut butter and put it into a blender and it tasted like a reeses peanut butter cup and it was actually good for you and thats a bonus.lol I would suggest to anyone that tries any of these mixtures of ingrediants to try them at home first to make sure that it doesn't give you the runs.
cheaper is better , calories are the main target. the more food you can get for the least amount of money times the most calories should be the emphasis . how many meals can you get for 30 bucks . i like your prep work just keep in mind that the more natural the ingredients the better the taste .
@saberman12341 I sometimes add raisins, but I really like the peanut butter for the protein and fat content, and not to mention I love the way it taste too. Thanks for the suggestion and tip.
21 grams of fat seems a bit much for a cup of oatmeal!! Is it from the p. butter?? If so, Id be leaving that out, course I love plain oatmeal with a smidgeon of cinnamon.......and Im allergic to nuts, so......no p.butter for me, but thanks for the vid!
@84SuperDom It works for me and its a little bigger then most that the Guyot Design bottles nests in. Good luck, let me know if you get it and like it.
@newtubetubetube I have tried it with slice almonds. I like it both ways, I just really like peanut butter. Thanks for the suggestion and taking the time to comment.
I've read that having a very sweet breakfast just before heading the trail can make your body react against that excess of sugar delivering insulin. And if at the same time you start 'working', there are 2 factors of sugar demand: insulin and work. It's a good advice to have breakfast quite before you start to walk, or have a light one first and then a second breakfast on the trail (like all good hobbit should)!
man luv the fact you included portage weights and nutritional values, keep it up, eh! Mountaineers need food options that address ease of preparation, taste, portage and nutrition. there's more food options out there, thanks for conveying that fact.
Thanks for watching. The gloves are ok, but they aren't water proof. Ive never used an alcohol stove, but Ive been thinking about checking them out. The marks on the canister are how many meals I've got out of the canister. I think I got like 27 or 28 meals from that canister. Thanks again for all your comments and views.
Thanks for watching and commenting. The peanut butter is pretty good. To change it up I use different dehydrate fruits when I'm out, and at home I use all fresh fruits. It adds to the flavor. If you have a sweet tooth try putting some chocolate chips in it....Thanks again for the comment.
I make my own peanut butter packets using small ziplock sandwich bags, my own peanut butter(crunchy) and add some honey. This way I can make bigger packets if I want, and it goes great both mixed into, and spread on bannock.
Seems like you were suffering in the cold until you had a couple of spoons of oatmeal. I think this goes to show that a hot drink is more essential and quicker, best had before attention is paid to food, even when it is ready prepared.
Hello, and thanks for watching. I had a terrible cold that day, thanks to my son. He usually gives me a cold once a year. As far as a warm drink, I already had a cup of hot chocolate that morning. Thanks for the suggestion.
Brian 5 stars, I will be posting my first video in spring and I hope to do as well as you. I am going to use this "Brian's Trail oatmeal" the next time I take my son camping with me, for some reason he doesn't care for my "pot luck" soup. and I will admit, this looks much better.

Hardcore oatmeal. The peanut butter don't look so good though. Have you try with plain grind peanut or nuts?
