The members of England's top two musical exports have intermingled 'way back when ' ! Brian Jones played saxiphone on a song ' You Got My Number ' ~ around late '68 early 69 !
I was there, it honestly didn't matter whether Ronnie was tipsy or not he really did shock everybody when he stepped out on the stage! Two legends in one night! I feel truly privileged.
i think alot of people dont understand is alot of people are seeing him in concert for the first time so they want to hear hey jude and get back ive saw him 3 times i would have liked to hear some different songs but he did daytripper helter skelter and ive got a feeling no complaints
@tubesteakbooky The only thing Ron Wood can play with properly is his own cock. Its one of the great musical mysterys how this mediocre 5th rate "musician" ever achieved such undeserved fame.
by the way any pre-internet artist sells out , from oasis to spandau ballet , people want nostalgia, the average capitalistic middle class guy is not a sophisticated mammal .....
40years of get back is simply boring ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
That one dislike doen't want to get back :( But anyways, I remember when I seen Paul in NY that was the first time he sang "The Night Before" and it was awesome!. I hope I see him again.
I think this simply shows how well McCartney is completing his 70th decade (yes, 69 marks the end of the 7th) and how poorly Ron Wood is handling it. Any bar band can improvise and riff gloriously on this 3 chord classic. Ron looks worried about missing a chord. This ain't McCartney & Billy Joel.
@garyokee Actually "Get Back" is a two chord song. But Ron Wood being a 5th rate guitarist was probably nervous of making a mistake while playing with a real musician.
Is it me or does it seem that Ron Wood feels "uncomfortably" a league under the great Paul McCartney. Don't misunderstand me, I love the Rolling Stones.
@jeraldogr - I think Ron just doesn't want to step on any toes. He's a fairly big legend in his own right. He's in the band that is considered by most to be the greatest Rock and Roll band in the world, meaning live playing on stage band.
Brian tried to get him to play some lead but I think he would have needed a little more incouragement from Paul, like Paul did with Eric during the Concert for New York. "Come on Eric, play for us. Eric Clapton everybody!".
@debjorgo Yeh I think it's unfair to criticise Ronnie here. McCartney is clearly in his comfort zone, with his audience and his band behind him. Ronnie is simply sticking to etiquette and not being cocky. Look how McCartney was at the Concert for George - I think he looked a bit uncomfortable there at times and not being in complete control, like he is used to being. Despite not doing much, I bet Ronnie's coming on added to the sense of occasion for those at the gig!
awesome video, i didnt realise there were any good quality videos of macca's on the run o2. i was in the 15th row back on the aisle, middle block. great concert.
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
John Lennon toco junto a Keith Richards "Yer Blues", George Harrison compartio microfono con Mick Jagger en "I saw her standing there", ahora Paul McCartney rockea su gran "Get Back" junto a Ronnie Wood... quien dijo ke The Beatles y The Rolling Stones eran rivales?
No, just kidding. But Woody just plays rythym most of the time. I'm sure if they'd had a little time, he could have done some of the lead riffs in the song and really rocked it up. He's playing pretty timid here.
Really great!! I'd been waiting.. ( hoping ?? ) for Paul and Ronnie to stand shoulder to shoulder.. ( Ronnie's righ against Paul's left ) guitars pointing in opposite directions.. both leaning into the mic.. in that iconic rock stance ( much used by Van Hallen.. remember them ? )... but it never happened. But then, Paul always has to be centre stage :-))
WOW excellent concert , this was my 4th time to see McCartney and was a great surprise to see Ronnie Wood. 3 hrs of non stop entertainment and McCartney playing as good as ever ! :)
He's nearly 70 and he's still getting back. Tanks for posting. I'm the first person in New Zealand to see this clip?!!!! Hope Macca, Nancy, and da band make it down to Kiwi Land in 2012.
I like Ron Wood's rocky sound and Macca is real strong, I guess it's anice turn on to have this guy on stage
