  • @xhardxcorexnigx3

When did pointing out flaws in someone's argument stop being a valid debate tactic?

  • love the kid with the mohawk. good bloke. good job of bringing up the best answers to these claims, even if they aren't all his.

  • I would support this guy but instead of actually fighting back with his debate he is just mocking the other guy. Hes not supporting atheism at all.

  • There is no archaeological evidence against the accuracy of the bible. Non-religious archaeologists confirm that the bible events such as destroyed nations and wars were actual events that took place. We have documents of ancient generals such as Assryria confirming the nation of Israel in all the ancient events in the bible. You or anybody else does not have any evidence against any single verse of the bible. Mail me if you do

  • @tcgreen11 I think you need to learn how to listen this guys arguments were sound, the thrusts arguments were empty; taken out of thin air.

  • Good one

  • LOL!! REALLY!! :D The mohawk guy has the same argument all atheist do....I don't like the god of the Bible, therefore he does not exist. LOL, that has nothing to do with if he exists or not! I don't like the way Walmart does business, but it doesn't mean Walmart does not exist! NONE of his arguments addressed the issue; does God exist? Arrrg, God killed people in the old testament, I can't believe in that God! Well, whether or not you believe it has nothing to do with whether or not it's true.

  • Atheists say they dont believe in God, I wonder if God believes in atheists. I have a few questions,

    1. Why dont you have to prove God doesn't exist?

    2. If not God what did create the universe?

    3. Where is this so called proof of evolution????

    4. What keeps things like gravity holding us down and tides moving, the earth turning, air moving, animals migrating, rivers flowing, weather changing, the sun rising and setting, etc from stopping?

    5. Why are we believers dilusional?

  • @arecuk1 1. Why dont u have proof against a sombrero in intergalactic space? u cannot prove a negative. 2. No one was there to observe, I dont know, other atheist dont know and u dont know, u believe. 3. Read an evolution book. 4. Gravity exists because objects have mass. Tides move because of gravitational pull from the moon. The earth is turning because it has angular momentum. The air moves because of pressure and heat changes and blah blah blah. 5. Shit, should of read this question first.

  • @ChrisMartinez562 I am just asking questions as someone who does believe in God but im not sure if you think im confused or stupid for having a belief in a higher power, or if you have a problem with the idea that there just might a higher power that we all might have to answer to at the end of our lives. I don't know what the problem is with my questions, it is no different from you asking where is the proof of God. You can think im crazy but I see God in nature and in average people etc.

  • Nice real nice

  • The only thing not real here is the goddamn "debate"!

  • Where did a god get its first thought from if nothing existed yet? God itself doesn't make sense.

  • @wachnathan This requires a brain and if you have a brain, you're able to learn but an all knowing being doesn't need to learn (making his "tests" irrelevant) so a non self aware force created the universe, doesn't/can't ask for ass kissing worship and that's that.

  • @clipsryan It still sounds like a contradiction to me but ok, Are you a deist or theist? If the theists say atheists believe something came from nothing then that same aurgument can be applied right back, god creates from nothing as well so whats the difference? there might be a being of vast power out there but unless it asks me directly am not going to acknowledge it am just goin about my life the way it should be with the idea am responsible for the life i have and not worry about gods.

  • @clipsryan Believing in a god doesn't really do anything but give one the idea that he has some purpose in the universe but really we just make our own purpose we should strive for our kin and not worry about a force we can't find, A deist knows that a being that can't be found maybe doesn't want to be found it wants us to just live with the tools we have to form our own reality our own life that seems to make more sense to me then theism but what do you think?

  • @wachnathan This purpose is always objective so this god is nothing more than someone's ego. Deism and agnosticism are irrelevant and just a position most take to try and not create enemies (mostly). There are three positions: There's a god that we all must worship regardless of the lack of evidence (which is not more important than faith apparently), there's a god that's nothing more than the energy controlling the universe but needs no credit (universe=god) and then there's no god.

  • @clipsryan So definition of god really means lack of knowledge or unexplainable mystery or the whole system of mass, energy, space and time because really thats all god comes down to and am ok with that definition we should label the first cause something why not just call it god i guess. But truthfully we can't say what it really is we could be a micro alien experiment for all we know there could have been a god but it died or its busy building other universes and we are of little importants IDK.

  • This atheist really needs to insult his opponent? That's great debating. YUMad?

  • @bvsandman They're just words. I wish theists would stop crying about words. If honest criticism is name calling, check your insecurity at the door.

  • I encourage all Humanists, Evolutionists, Atheists, Agnostic, Satanists, Buddhists and Luciferians to participate in the facebook group, Lucifer's Constellatory Vanguard.

No Deities, Devils, Ghouls, Ghosts, Spirits, or self deceit...

    Just knowledge, light, and understanding...

The need for the propagation of staunch atheism stems from the humanistic necessity to rid the world of self deceitful handicaps. Traditional religions, ) have hindered us long enough.

  • The guy with the Mohawk completely stoled that speech from author Sam Harris verbatim. And the theist guy sounds exactly like william lane Craig. It's almost as if they're acting out a debate by doing this. What kills me is that they're not giving any credit where credit is due and thus making it sound as if they came up with those arguments. This was almost embarrassing to watch. Sam Harris is one of my favorite authors and deserves all of the credit for this guys speech.

  • @angelcisneros2003 Thank you for the response. In the bulletins printed for the debate, the general sources/authors for our information were listed. Most of the quotes made by me (theist) were sourced in the sentence. However, I do agree that in some ways this was a Craig vs. Hitchens "Jr." debate. Clearly much of my material came from Craig, and I do not mind giving him credit where it is due.

  • where did god come from? sounds like some people think something came from nothing!

  • @shanabell420 Thank you for your response to the video. God by definition is eternal, therefore, did not "come from anywhere/anyone." The argument made is: 1.) Everything THAT BEGINS TO EXIST has a cause. 2.) The universe began to exist. 3.) Therefore, the universe needs a cause. God did not begin to exist, therefore, God needs no "cause."

  • @justinwins1 How do you know that god never began to exist? How do you know that something that never began to exist, exists? How can you make solid claims about god to the degree that you can define it's entire existence? How can you know so much information about god when so many others from it's creation see nothing? Does it all come from the bible?

  • @justinwins1 God is an untestable being so it's definition is as relevant as Spider-Mans'. If god didn't begin to exist, apparently god's existence before the universe consisted of a certain amount of time but time doesn't exist outside the universe so the universe NATURALLY coming into existence and not by a god, makes total sense. If god (any self aware being for that matter) did it, it wasn't naturally done by a being that knows everything but is also angry at times (contradiction).

  • @clipsryan You are incorrect. How could God's existence before the universe consisted of a certain amount of time when time itself did not exist yet? God is not relative to time therefore God is eternal. It is not possible based on the laws of physics for the universe to come into existence naturally on it's own. A design can only come from an intelligent mind.

  • @IamGarySimpson Exactly, god doesn't exist. You still have to prove god even exists without making him immune to laws we know all things exist from. If god is eternal, then what is "he" made of? You just said he's eternal then said "came into existence naturally". Nature uses a process of which TIME is needed. Intelligent design? Based on what? Nature doesn't need intelligence to do things naturally so why would we need a huge immaterial one to create everything the universe did?

  • @clipsryan No one can prove or disprove that God exist. Read what I wrote again when I said "come into existence naturally" I was talking about the universe (something with a beginning) not God. Order requires intellegence; to say otherwise is illogical. Patterns happen naturally and do not require any intelligence. Order happens by design and requires a great deal of intellegence. The universe is an order of things not a pattern of things.

  • @clipsryan You said "If god is eternal, then what is "he" made of?" To understand this we must understand what the universe consist of. The Universe scientifically is consisted of Time, Space & Matter, therefore whatever created the universe must be about to exist without being relative to time, space & matter. Thus, God is timeless (eternal), Space-less (without form), and Matter-less (Spiritual, without material).

  • Sorry guys, just because this guy is saying things that Shepherd or Hitchens said doesn't mean that he's stupid. It takes guts to do this in a place like Louisiana. Also, the arguments that more famous people have presented bear repeating. I do think it would be good if he'd offered some credit, though, if only to point out that the ideas he shares are part of a thriving intellectual tradition.

  • His point from 5:40 to 6:20 is an original thought put forth by Christopher Hitchens in various debates. It's all fine an good to read the works of others and be influenced by them when debating, but this guy's flat out stealing of sentence after sentence is annoying as fuck. Anyone can memorize a script. This dude has ZERO origibal thoughts throughout the debate.

  • @77bogart well that is the truth and the truth doesnt change. Thats what religious people do.

  • @shanabell420 You do not "know" what the "truth" is on this topic and neither do I. And whether it is or isn't, was not the point of my comment. Take care.

  • I'm actually laughing at this video. I made like 7 comments on the video that comes before this one, and almost every argument this guy did, I did before listening to it. That's great =] He could make a little more sense, and maybe leaving some explanations open to "logic" is not the best way to deal with a theist because "logic" would not seem that logic to him, but he says the important parts though.

  • What's with this motherfucker's hair? Anyway, he's badass and destroyed Joseph.

  • God did it. Science attempts to find out how God it it, not how we did it. Because we didn't do it, God did it. Not all scientists are atheists, but many are. Atheist scientists are not competent to say God didn't do it. But they do. Saying God didn't do it carries less proof than saying God did it. Both atheists and theists make faith claims. Discoveries of both are true until proven otherwise, but atheists say their faith claims are therefore proven true. But their claim isnt validated thereby

  • I love this guy...

  • I think the fact that a debate about the existance of god is proof enough he isn't real. God could easily do something miraculous to prove he is here.

  • @mountainmanbear Oh no, don't you remember? "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord!" You can't say to God "Prove to me that you are here!" and if you do, God won't! Why? "Because thou shalt not tempt the Lord!" Okay now for the real reason why, THERE IS NO GOD!

  • @mountainmanbear Such as? What could God do to prove He exist to all non-believers? Could He raise someone from the dead? Could He make 1/3 of the earth's population vanish within a blink of an eye? There are a number of prophecies that have been fulfilled but people still chose not to believe. God could put His face in the sky for every eye on earth to see and Science will come up with some explanation for it and dismiss if as it actually being God.

  • @IamGarySimpson These prophecies are only confirmed by those that already believed and make them into self fulfilling prophecies. No other religion confirms those 3 you mentioned and your bible stills lies about the age of the earth. No matter what prophecy you try to use, it'll always be wrong about the age of the earth. Not a good source of evidence for an all knowing being. Answer me this please. If god is moral and perfect, why ask for (demand) worship?

  • @clipsryan "These prophecies are only confirmed by those that already believed and make them into self fulfilling prophecies." Not true, The Bible prophecied that a sign that 2nd coming of Christ is near is that Isreal would once again become it's own nation. This prophecy was made nearly 2,000 years before it came to pass right after World War II. Tell me this, what verse in the Bible has the age of the earth in it?

  • @IamGarySimpson How is that a prophecy and how does that excuse the others of being false? You need consistancy from an all knowing being's predictions. Did the Torah predict IsrAEl would once AGAIN become it's own nation? The bible comes from the Torah so you'd think they'd predict that aswell. Does the bible predict the invasion of the Americans? First, tell me how old you think it is and why? Also provide scriptures for your prophecies. Thank you.

  • @IamGarySimpson Are you serious? Have you personally seen these things happen, or did maybe another human tell you it happened? Maybe you read it in a book? Why can't we simply see miracles like this today? Expecting someone to believe the bible is true is as ridiculous as expecting me to believe the events in Harry Potter actually happened. Wouldn't you want to see someone flying around on a broom before you believed it really happened? We aren't asking for much.

  • @IamGarySimpson All someone like me ask in order to believe is to see something with my own eyes, no read about it. If I am expected to believe everything that was written down as fact thousands of years ago, why not follow Islam, or become a Hindu? These books are just as credible as the bible, and by credible I mean, not at all. I'm expecting a personal experience argument next.

  • @mountainmanbear Even if He performed a miracle the atheists would be like "WTF was that! I don't know but whatever it was it has to have a rational explanation. God doesn't exist remember?

  • Wow. Any smart atheist could have left Justin at a complete loss for words, and easily destroyed everything he said in his speech from start to finish, yet Joey here only touched on a few basic things, and was barely able to counter those. Justin pretty much handed the debate over to him, by all of the illogical, contradictory, misinformed bs he said, and yet Joey still failed to capitalize. All I have to say is, Justin, you're lucky Joey is just as much of a witless dumb ass as you are.

  • @TwoHandedSledge The reason this dude didn't capitalize is because he went into the debate with a set script (poorly) stolen from Sam Harris. Essentially, he wasn't really listening to the theist but was focused on remembering his script.

  • That atheist is an embarrassment to all you atheists out there, he is petulant and sarcastic and as of yet has not put forward even one point that makes sense apart from his criticism of the "Resurrection story"

  • @greybear3 Yes. He made me ashamed. There was so much information he could easily destroyed had he been better intellectually equipped. If you listen to Justin's argument before this one, it is filled with some of the utmost illogical, misquoted, misinformed, and down right uneducated nonsense I've ever heard in my life, not to mention highly contradictory and hypocritical. A smart atheist would have destroyed that bullshit, hell, it could have been destroyed by anyone rational and educated.

  • This man says that atheism has no content and then he goes to explain what atheism is meant to do! Ha! You just contradicted yourself in ONE sentence buddy.

  • @mdoyon216 You obviously missed the point. He was saying that Atheism is not an answer for this or that, nor does it explain this or that, but rather it does this. When he said no content, he was referring to specifics after a certain point, not in general.

If you want contradictions, re watch part 2. You'll get your fill and then some.

  • damn this atheist sucks at rebuttals

  • you know what's ironic. if atheists were presented with logical evidence that yahweh was real, we couldn't deny it, i would embrace the truth.

  • your quotes at about 7:00 are an almost verbatium quote of a talk Tyson made a few years ago. i would enjoy your acknowledging him

  • @NegativeNick

You're correct - I borrowed that response from Tyson and I should have credited it to him.

  • he crushed that theist!!!

  • Great response.
