i go to laurel and we're playing clairton tonight in the wpial semi finals. we beat em the first game of the year 15-8. it's gonna b a real good game.
Enough of the Farrell/Clairton comparisons. Fact of the matter is they both was evenly matched teams in all aspects of the game. Clairton had the ball last and eneded up with the W.
As far as this year i'm looking forward to a State Gold for the Bears. Anything less will be a dissapointing season.
I grew up in Clairton, I remember the little rivalry that ensued between Clairton and Farrell in the late 80's/early 90's, Farrell always got the better of Clairton back then, it was finally nice to see Clairton return the favor.
Listen, I give all the credit in the world to Farrell. Up until Steel High, they were without question the best team Clairton faced all season. Clairton was one of the top teams in the state in both points scored and points allowed so its tough to argue that Farrell was the better team. Farrell was real good, I mean REAL good, but Clairton might just have been a hair better.
Luxy009, had Clairton beat? Im sorry, i was there too...and i dont remember the clock saying 0:00 with Farrell in the lead, do you? Farrell had a LEAD LATE in the game but they did not have them beat. Farrell gave up a 3 play 75 yard drive in about 45 seconds to end the game. Farrell was CLOSE, but they werent CLOSE ENOUGH.
Well i think Farrell was better team but they screwed up big time at the end of the game by allowin that big pass play but if they had to do over again Farrell would have 1 but there fans jinxed them anyway by saying o were goin to states n leavin b4 the end. I'am not from Farrell, or Clairton anyways i just went 2 check out the game
For as good as Steel High was, they only beat Clairton in 1 out of the 4 quarters. Clairton stood toe to toe with the Rollers for 36 of the 48 minutes played. 1 Disasterous quarter...thats all it took. Clairton couldnt get out of their own end. 2009 though, different story. 95% of the team coming back, if Clairton can get past a great Farrell team in the state semi's they will be the PIAA champion in Class A in 09...guaranteed.
I'm not hatin jus statin facts I hope dey be bak nxt year becuz c-town(clairton) surly will n im gon guarantee its gon be an entirely different story......bet dat

I would hope so since Clairton has almost everyone back and Steel-High lost 16 seniors!! Still, never count out the Rollers.
