does anyone else think that this is probably one of the most unrated albums ever? When Brian was writing, it was far from the surfer 60's crap they are know for. His Smile album that was never officaly released is as equally as good I feel.
When I first heard this album in '67 at age 17, I knew that this would be the soundtrack for my life to come. I've been listening to this album since then and have never tired of it in any way, shape, or form. The songs continue to be fresh and completely original. They have a beauty that, as far as I'm concerned, is unequaled. The unexpected key changes, instrumentation, and soaring vocals of this recording are stamped permanently in my mind. Absolute magic!
I really do respect this album not only for the fact that I like some songs, the whole concept and the impact it made on History but also because of the complexity of the arrangements, instruments, musicians, chords and riffs. The organ in the background of this song is amazing and I love it. I'm eternally thankful to The Beatles for Rubber Soul, the album that made Brian make Pet Sounds and to Brian for producing this album because, without it, would be no Sgt. Peppers' Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Actually it was a mash up, a good one at that, and if Brother Records or Capitol knew about it they would have it removed from the web because of copyright infringement!
@cloudmusic01 Is that a joke? This is widely referred to as the "Best Album of All Time". If anything, this album is overrated.

Pet Sounds is "objectively" maybe the best album of all time. The most immaculate, emotionally pure artistic expression committed to sound.
affable83 3 years ago

@bapeboombox yes but it's not like the beach boys helped. a guy named Bullion made it. Beach Boys VS J-Dilla is what it's called
