This is amazing. I'm a big fan of sound-scaping and noise-rock. Plus my ever-lasting love for punk and shoe-gaze. this is amazng and i'd like to see more.
@AntalyadaIrlanda really? lol I didn't know that. lol I almost never look at this page.. I've known you for over 2 years now? Holy shit I'm mad late.. with whatever's next lol
where did you read/hear this about the Mark III being a tweaked Fender?
thank you. Ive been looking for a video with actual feedback. So far all i get is people you like to scrape the guitar on the floor. YOU my sir are doin it right. Thank you. Very cool. What you playing thru?
Thanks so much man, I don't think anyone has ever called me 'sir' before hehe
I'm playing thru a Boogie MarkIII head and Marshall cabinet, dunno exactly what cabinet because it was a rehearsal studio.. and I'm using a Boss OC-2 (old version) sub-octave pedal, blended in very slightly
Yeah, but you should at least experiment with everything, let the drummer do what he wants to do and accept and understand... The drummer only doing on the hihat after awhile it'll be boring, the drummer should learn all grooves and even improv of the tomtoms, licks for the tomtoms too.... Let every musician learn everything, experiment everything and see what they turn into... But at the end your opinion is your opinion... And it is right FOR you, that is what an opinion is...
Well me coming over to play drums... Uhm... Out of all the instruments I can play drums aren't one of them, lol!
But yeah it's your music... But seriously, the band you are in isn't YOUR band, (or it might be), but still if you really want to make a band's band, not an artist's band, well then all the members will play their music and you'll all fuse making the band's type of sound...
BTW your feedback is the real shit (real good shit)...!
And no we weren't and aren't nearly a band, Arik Roper is a serious artist, bass is not his main thing at all. And the drummer had just started playing drums.
That's what was cool about it, to me. What strong brownies can bring together as a vibe even when experience is lacking..when people are on the same page spiritually.
Hey thanks for your comments man, they're all much appreciated.
nice jamming, but musically this is too long... There has to stops, changes! Like the drum can do drum fills... And bass could do more than just that! But feedback was awesome!
sweet:P would you mind telling me the technique?:P cuz all the vids i find when i type in feedback things it's always how to make it NOT happen, if you know what i mean:P ^^
it's both the guitar and the Mesa-Boogie amp.. tubed preamp > a another tubed preamp > tubed poweramp.
and using tone _controls on the guitar_ to keep feedback from squeaking.. seriously. I wanted warm sustaining tones, like I was playing a sax, not like an effect
but needs good tubed amp, no guitar will do this by itself.
i'll have to get me one of those octavian pedals i always just thought "well shit why spend money on that when i can just play up 12 frets?" but now the possibilities are flowing into my brain like ether into a wormhole haha thanks for the revelation.
thanks so much man.. only pedal was a Boss OC-2 (earlier version of their sub-octave pedal), rest is just tube amp. I have a hollow bodied Strat copy with Alembics, which I'm sure helps with feedback, but I dunno if that had as much to do with the sound or tone ..amp was studio's, Mesa-Boogie Mark IV with Marshall cabinet
I've always been obsessed with trying to weird out my guitar sound as much as possible without gadgets, but like blending in a bit of sub-octave.
the oscillations-thing is just a tremolo bar bending down doubled notes, different strings apparently 'detune' at different speeds when you do this, 'vibrato' effect is faster the further down you go
well.. one more thing, if you're really trying to do this kind of thing with feedback
tone control on the guitar should be on 6-7, tone on the _amp_ up high.. sometimes I drive the (tube) preamp really hot and put the guitar volume on 6-7 also.. it's very different.. like 'walking lightly on hot coals'.. then I can turn the guitar vol. up for more sustain.. tone controls lo is a must! ..or it just squeaks.. I like sustaining _warm_ feedback I can play melody with
very nice
