  • PRECIOSA CANCION, LLEGA PROFUNDO. EL GRUPO, UN GIGANTE OCHENTERO.

  • There should be no dislike option here.

  • Impresionante tema de principio a final .

  • Seeing these guys with Boon, Mike Lindup, Mark King and Gary Husband would be a dream come true. This is British music at it's best!

  • Strange, i just found out that they going to play in Rodovre outside Copenhagen, Denmark (i live in Malmo, Sweden) on 30th November this year, so finally, i'm going to buy ticket and see them live:):)

  • @bitnize You are a lucky person!

  • @TheSennyman What on earth are you on about? I'm a big fan of level 42!!!!

  • One of their most mature compositions. If there' any song that remind me about falling in love in the 80's - it's this one.

  • wooow this is the firs time that i listenig this track!!! this is excellente wonderfull music!!!

  • Excellent! Wonderful music!

  • ooooohhhh 42

  • their finest moment , great lyrics, great playing and harmonies.

  • Ooh, I just love me some Level 42!!

  • Just wow. One of the best. Still think it is the only ballad that manages to have slap bass and not sound stupid. One of the songs I will all my life-thanks for posting !

  • P.........mortel,le son c'est q.q chose ici

  • i followed and saw 42 all through the 80s, this was their best ballad. if you ever loved & lost, this will make you cry..

  • We are not worthy.... what an breath taking track...

  • stunning song. means so much 2 me...... the best

  • Can't think of one person who could sing this better than Mark King, Very haunting song, Lovely,

  • I feel sorry for young ones nowadays who don't experience real classy music like this! Of course it's a generation thing, but anyway.....this was my youth!

  • @bitnize It was my youth too. This music was all I cared about when I was 14, it was my world. I fell in love with Level 42 listening to Leaving me now which took me straight to buying The World Machine LP,always my favourite. I listened to it so many times that I believe it's somewhere very deep in my head and will not ever come off.

  • @flowerlike42 Yes you are right, their music is very deep in my head too, that's a bit strange. Lots of albums/songs that are great, i know them all in my mind. It's a shame I've never seen them live. They released a new album in 2006, Retroglide, and i was happy. Not as good as previous ones but good anyway, the song "Clouds" is great i think. I hope they continue making music/albums.

  • @bitnize Once I was a devoted fan, member of the UK fan club. I saw them live 3 times and to say they were great it's not enough. Energy and performance almost better than in recordings. And I used to put a black scotch tape around my right thumb just like Mark, always not only for the live shows, but that was because I was a teenager..now I don't!! Yes Mark's voice is perfect you're right. After the Forever now LP I did not listen to the new songs but I will search for "Clouds".

  • @bitnize And I remember that at first listening to a new LP I did not really understand , it took me some more playing before I could grasp the meaning. This speaks for the complexity of their music...or for my obtuseness :))

  • @flowerlike42 Level 42 had the ability to write great melodies/lyrics, well arranged songs/sound/harmonies. Their sound is basic: bass, drums etc. and Mark Kings voice is perfect. It’s combination of all these things that makes a whole that is just brilliant. They thought of that, the details, which is needed to make great music. Not many artists today do, that’s a shame. Thank god i can always listen to Level 42s music:)

  • They could release this song TODAY and it would be a HIT. TIMELESS CLASSIC ! Mark, you are the "King" !

  • Brings me back to -85! :-)

  • Stunning !!!!!

  • still gives me goosebumps

  • @MelanyK Yes, indeed! I concur...had the vinyl to this whole album & use to play it to death!!! ☺☺♫♪♫♪♥♥♥

  • Just great :)

  • Musical heaven! thanks for taking me back!

  • 2:46

  • je me levais le matin en écoutant cette chanson avant d'aller travailler.

  • the ultimate breakup song....

  • 6 people are on crack.

  • Saw the boys just a couple of months ago in San Francisco. Great gig. Been about 20 years since I'd last seen them so it was a treat. They stuck around for almost an hour chatting and signing autographs from the stage. Such an underrated band.

  • truly magical

  • Super video!

  • Back in 1986 a good friend of me suddenly died..this song pulled me through..

  • still love it as much as i did as a teenager all those years ago.....

  • made love any way....love this.....remeber childhood times...of first kiss and pure love..

  • I was in England when I picked up this disc. Living a different life then. This takes me back for a minute...

  • A beautiful song by a VERY UNDER-RATED band. First heard Level 42 when I was overseas in the Phillippines. Have loved them since.

  • This song reminds me of a girl i fell in love with on March 25th.. I miss her so much

  • I love this song....very stylish....BUT wow Diane Lane is unbelieveably beautiful in these photos....!

  • fantastic song :-) Level 42 is great!! I can't find words enough to express their brilliancy...

  • Why don't (maybe i should have said can't!) bands make songs like this anymore ?.......

  • @drummo777 because unfortunately because of what is popular at the moment, the charts dont allow it....Give it another 20-50 years and it may all come back round again. Music seems diluted these days to me. I love this song..amazing sound !

  • @drummo777 I am a musician and i'm with a label and I don't get it either!

Think I just missed the last era of music ah well.

  • Wally Badarou Thanks !

  • é una meraviglia riascoltare questa musica, mi ha accompagnato per due decenni.. ogni nota e ogni parola è legata alle mie immagini.. indissolubili

    marco63

  • @thesoledad25 forgot myself just how good this is.

  • favourite level 42 track ever. thanks for posting it up.

  • Great groove

  • A bit like your negative comment! If you don't like them that's up to you, but why bother others who like them with your negative comments? If you don't like them why are you even watching??

  • I could live without Diane Lane, but I couldn't live without my Level 42 CD's. One is fine, the other is simply amazing & this song is one of their greatest. 25 years and going strong!!!

  • Does anyone else besides me think this video is awkwardly-creepy?

  • not the video mate. but the end of the song itself is bloody creepy. dark & final.

  • while watching the video (which by the way I like), I gave the mouse inadvertently marked as innadecuado video, which is not (and indeed I have made good, as the damn mouse moves me only sometimes), sorry, so now I wait my turn, I removed the account although I've done has been unwittingly, in short, 5 stars for the video of Level 42, ah, forgive my English, because they have not I totally dominated jejejeje XD.

  • Mark Kings voice is perfect for this song, absolutely brilliant, Great Video,Thanks.

  • I know...I love this song. And the thing is he has said in interviews that he cant sing.

  • Absolutely awsome song from the equally Level 42. I'm awe of their songwriting/ musicianship. Forever inspirational.

  • Very haunting. I love the song. On the first album I ever bought as a child. World machine :)

  • Love the picture at 3:09. Great candid shot.

  • Boon is kinda sexy in these pics! mmmmmm!

  • Few bands write songs with such moving words as this song carries, and with such a haunting, painful sound of the break-up of love. I fell in love with this song when I first heard it in 1985 and 24 years later, it is still one of my all time favorite songs by anyone. AWESOME Level 42!!!!

  • I wore this cassette tape out during the mid-80's. I agree, this band was highly underrated. They had talent! Great songwriting, vocals, musicianship, they had it all. Love this tune.

  • wow...thanks for posting this song!!

This is definetly going on my list of things to look for when i go record shopping.

  • wtf did youtube recommend this video to me?

  • Nice one; I get pet videos, pantyhose & the muppet show etc. Gorgeous song.

  • I can't believe this is the same woman who played Cherry Valance in the Outsiders. She's as gorgeous as Mark King's voice...

  • Level 42 were my first musical influence. They resonate with me and have touched my life like no other act. From 82 onwards to the present day. And this track is a wonderfull example of their world class talent.

First bought it on Cassette it wore out, so bought it on LP, that got scratched so I bought it again on LP. Broke my record player so got it on CD. Lost the CD so bought the CD again. Its on my PC now so hopefully I dont need to buy again. Its worth it though!

  • level 42 is awesome it like i well matured wine older the better

  • Will be seeing them in Plymouth, England in a few weeks time. Pray to god that they play this one; but unlikely. Would die to this song over and over again. Managed to squeeze this song into my wedding, the guests loved it and goes surprisingly well with Jamiroquai and Foo Fighters. The band has been my favourite since the early eighties and will love these guys until the end of time!!!!

  • Long walks together in the night. New York evenings with that special someone.Thank you Mark/guys...............stinggs1

  • It will never grow old. When you really listen, it's genius lyrically and musically. There's nothing like it now. Diane Lane is easy to look at, too. I was heavily into Level 42 as a kid in the UK. They still sound fresh.

  • Totally agree how songs get you through the hard times, a lot of times i've listened to level 42 and feel like the sun has come out again, when i was a teenager i remember rushing to the shop to buy Level 42 singles, especially loved Running in the family bugged my family playing it over and over again.

  • Greast song...after Stevie... Cherie Amour.

  • what a song!!

  • why do i feel so depressed, but happy to be depressed when i hear this song?

  • Put this on late at night, when you're feeling a bit quiet. It evokes the summer of 1985 for me, I was sixteen, and just starting out on my journey. Level 42 got me thru a lot of lean times, and even now, they are an inspiration. This is how real humans convey the human spirit thru lyrics and melody. Genius. Dug mcleod
