i had a back injury and it made my HIP tighten up and now when i do kicks for boxing i dont have the same power as i used too...i cant dig into punchin bags with the kick any more...ive trying to strectch and lift wieght with my leg but i dont know i might have to just warm up before i work out everytime
Great vid Nick, it's so easy to just use the low back when trying to do those. Besides thinking of the cup of coffee resting on the lumbar, are there any other ways to prevent the unwanted lumbar flexion/extension/rotation?
Thanks for this, just tried the hip circles and got some serious burn after 10 reps. Hopefully it'll help for my mild hip pain.

Coach Nick- do you focus on the glutes contracting before the hamstrings alot with you clients with hip extension movements (eg. with superdogs)

Yes, you can place a water bottle across the lumbar region. If the bottle falls, you moved too much.
