  • My question is: Why didn't Patrick Roy pull himself after like the 5th or 6th goal? I've seen goalies pull themselves because they know they are having an off night. This is fuckin' Patrick Roy, the guy has the power to pull himself. haha

  • Haha I didn't know all these years the players involved in that trade. Wow 4 cups for Roy, 3 for Keane, 0 for the rest.

  • He had every right to be mad. He should have been pulled after 4 in the first

  • patrick wah not patrick roy lol

  • He deserved better.

  • Baby

  • Roy and Keane for Thibault, Rucinsky, and Kovalenko......aye carumba!!!

  • Wow Detroit was stacked in the 90's and early 2000's. Still a great team today.

  • Patrick Roy for life. Fuck you Mario Tremblay!

  • funny how Detroit ended his career in both cities.

  • @instinctz1 Minnesota ended his career in Colorado, Andrew Brunette scored the final goal in his great career. Nice try though

  • @instinctz1 how do you reckon Detroit ended his career in Colorado???

  • @uncensorer his last playoff season with Colorado ended with the 7-0 net chasing Detroit gave him in game 7.

  • @instinctz1 oh ok thanks.

  • @instinctz1 His last playoff season with Colorado was actually when the Avs got upset by the Wild in Game 7 the year after.

  • Roy and Brodeur for life

  • Should have fired the coach and kept the goalie. Just looking from a GM and ownership perspective.

  • that was teh day i was born...

  • 12 days before I was born

  • and with that moment, montreal's future as a cup contender ended for many years to come. All because of a fucking coach with a stick up his ass.

  • Tremblay is a*sshole.

The whole staff of Habs is full of a*ssholes.

And the saddest part in the whole thing are the Habs fans, laughing and whistling when someone needs their support more than ever. The man who gave them so many great moments and the saves does not deserve that.

F*uck me but I do not understand the canadian mentality. I'm glad that Patrick Roy won the Stanley Cup immediately next year with Avalanche...

  • @bobsi707 it was not the fans fault, it was the coach's fault, if he had pulled roy at maybe the 3rd or 4th goal then roy would not be pissed, there is no canadian mentality there is only a hockey mentality, the fans came to a habs game to see their favorite team win, when we were losing the game the fans were drove into "the hockey mentality

  • Its funny because guess who's fault this was:

    1) THE FANS? HELL NO! Looked like DP at that point (except with no defense.)

    2) The D-men? Partially, but not completely

    3) THE COACH? MMM, YES! PULL HIM ALREADY...letting a goalie stay in for 9 GA is a big slap in the face...

    good for Roy.

  • thanks for not pulling him you dumb ass coach

  • What if Montreal never hired Tremblay as coach?

  • @ElBarto3131 then roy would still have played for the habs

  • lol and Mario Tremblay didn't last ver long either....Montreal Canadiens went down hill from there..lol

  • okay this was retarded but people don't have to go talking shit about the fans it had nothing to do with them it was the retarded coach

  • @ChizmanInDenver 100 percent agree. The Canadiens are the Yankees of the NHL championship wise and it seems that some of their fans act like animals just like a loud portion of Yankees fans.

  • Canadian fans are the worst, and most classless fans out there when it comes to hockey. I hope the Canadians never win another cup until the fans can grow up and learn to respect their own players at least!

  • @DragonSniper7 Uh, Vancouver says hi. That said as an Avs fan I'd pretty much have to say the conduct by Montreal fans at this game was deplorable.

  • @VancouverChokers meant Canadian's as in the Montreal Canadians lol. But tbh i find Vancouver placed 2nd for having the terrible fans. Edmonton, Calgary, Ottawa, and Toronto all great nothing against them.

  • @DragonSniper7 Agree. Winnipeg should get great fan support now that they're back as well. Young team, but I think they will eventually do very well for themselves.

  • @DragonSniper7 Agree. I'm an Avs fan and still pulled for Calgary and Edmonton when they played in the finals because those two groups of fans respect the game, unlike those clowns in Vancouver.

Takes a lot for this Avs fan to ever root for Detroit but I think I would have done it if they'd played Vancouver in the playoffs this past year - that's how little I respect Vancouver and their fans.

  • @VancouverChokers Canucks fans have one of the best respects for the game. I live near Vancouver, however im a bruins fan. After Boston won the riots in downtown vancouver were NOT canucks fans. True canucks fans respect the game. the douchebag bandwagon fans are the ones disrespecting the game.

  • @forbiddenmemories004 It seems they have a LARGE majority of bandwagon fans then. it seems that I see them every day here on youtube because I can sense their unbridled arrogance.

  • @VancouverChokers Love the name. But Im a Wings fan, and man I loved it when Darren McCarty kicked the shit out of Claude Lemieux. You know there was a Water Polo star in Vancouver who cried like a little bitch after being caught on camera after posing infront of the burning car. He was a Nucks fan. Red Wings Fans are very classy. Fuck Bruins fans, Philly fans, Nucks Fans, and some Habs fans.

  • @CamericaUSA As far as the Wings are concerned, we didn't have to like you but we couldn't not respect you. Wings are a first class organization from the top straight on down. I understand how Wings fans felt about Claude and I'll be honest, it Probert had done the same thing to one of our guys we probably woulda hated him like you guys did Claude. Nature of the beast.

I just wish a guy like Trevor Linden, one of the best never to win it but is like 91 or 19, had played for anyone but Van.

  • @VancouverChokers I hope we can spark up the rivalry again. With the new NHL i dont know if its possible, but man it would be great. Probert was a dirty cheapshop fighting prick, I got mad respect for him, but wheh he cheap shotted Mcguire, it was on.

  • @CamericaUSA If the Wings move East like I've heard they might, sadly that won't be possible. But you'll get more games against the orginal six like Toronto, Montreal, Boston, NYR and the East would become a monster conference. But then if that happens, the Wings/Hawks rivalry won't mean near as much as it used to however I think Hawks fans could survive by hating Vancouver.

  • @VancouverChokers Oh yeah they do. They have the biggest bandwagon in the NHL. all im saying is their true fans are respectful

  • @VancouverChokers Just looking at your name makes your comments irrelevant for even giving an informed opinion.

  • @Jem93rocks Fuck Fagcouver. Faggot team with a faggot coach, players and fans. I don't respect them at all. And fuck their fans too.

  • @VancouverChokers Calling people names and cities names is gonna get you nowhere in an argument; it just makes you look foolish.

  • @Jem93rocks If you don't like it that's just too damn bad.

  • @VancouverChokers Too damn bad for you, retard. Vancouver rules, and have way better fans and people than dumb fucks like you.

  • @hemanownsyou Vancouver rules at what? Diving? Burning down their own city? Choking every single year with the most talent in the league? Having a bunch of bandwagon pot smoking hippies for fans?

Basically you might rule but it's at nothing good. Fuck Vancouver. Go Avs 96 and 01 Stanley Cup Champs

  • Comment removed

  • @Jem93rocks But Vancouver does it to every other team all the time

  • @pchoooooooo ...and the other 29 team fans are all perfect are they?

  • @VancouverChokers Im not even a vancouver fan but im guessing from your name that your a boston fan... lemme just tell you that the bruins are incredibly lucky to have even sniffed the stanley cup finals and their unbelievably lucky that vancouver had a choke artist of a goaltender because otherwise vancouver was the better hockey team

  • What is it with Roy and the Red Wings? The Wings could get a beach ball past Roy.

  • ROY!!! ='(

  • i really don't understand how habs fans didn't learn their lesson from this. they chased away arguably the greatest goaltender of all time and they're still dicks to price and other players. i don't think a fan base has ever fucked their team as much as the stupid habs faithful have.

  • @thespennyb That is true, but I think that Vancouver puts way too much pressure, and criticism on Luongo. Being a big fan, it's hard seeing the shit they talk about him, even thought he's a great goalie. Almost anyone would crumble under all that pressure, and it's really not necessary.

  • @HLGINVISIBLE i agree.

  • And the start of Colorado Yah

  • @TheGamerCreations The reason why I got Colorado Avalanche Jersey, and I'm from Chicago..

  • ya apparently the habs fan were dicks to him all the time.

but what do I know...i'm a 15 year old Ottawa boy. PATRICK LALIME FTW, haha

  • Wahh wahh waaaah...Its RRrrrrrRrrrrOY!! fooking frenchies, learn to speak english!

  • Red Wings ended him in Montreal (shame on Montreal for that), and we ended him in Colorado.

Detroit owns you, Roy. Vernon and Osgood have your blood. Hasek is better than you. Detroit ended you in game 7, 2002. Detroit made you "Statue of Liberty," and lose.

    Detroit owns Roy. Fact.

  • @thhhegame33 Ah the ignorant bliss of Red Wing fans.

  • @thhhegame33 No, he was having a bad game. You don't understand what it's like to be under pressure, and especially the crowd basically laughing at your face, it doesn't help. Red Wings are okay, but they lost to San Jose, they tried to make a comeback, but still not so well. Fact is, Red Wings blow my dick.

    :)

  • @flashbackko The "fact" is on the video. As you have even said, his own crowd was laughing in his face. Don't be so disagreeable about it. Peppermint Pattie Cake "Statue of Liberty" Roy just took it upon himself to suck a lot of dick on 12/2/1995.

    It's not your fault.

  • LMAO this could happen to Carey Price in a near future...no doubt.

Hey Jarolav Halak hop on the taxi and took off to St.Louis...see Montreal Canadiens Washed Up Goalie Commercial...for a proof

  • The Red Wings are the reason the Avs got Roy, now that's kinda funny

  • he looks like Chara a bit.. Thumbs up if you agree

  • Didn't Patrick Roy throw the game puck at Tremblay after defeating Montreal for the first time as an Av?

  • habs fans are terrible, a guy wins you 2 stanley cups and you boo him? fucking assholes. same thing with price. a young goalie with tons of potential and they boo him when he is picked as a star of the game. habs fans are fucking idiots who think that because they won 24 cups, the majority of them when there was only 6 teams, that they have the right to do this to someone. the boo the american anthem to. all habs fans shut the hell up and seperate quebec cuz you fags give canada a bad name.

  • i give the avalanche credit for this

  • it's great how the Habs purposely embaressed Roy, booed him, but now that they suck they call him one of the greatest canadiens players as if he was their hero

  • @Edgehead1132 Well said, he was betrayed by everyone! Read teh book written about him, it sheds some light about just how "well" he was treated for most of his time in Montreal. I'm a Montreal fan, but the way fans who actually LIVE in Montral act, just BOGGLES my mind!

  • Patrick Roy had the last laugh...going to Colorado was the best thing. He won the Stanley cup while the Montreal Choke-dian keep making fun of the Leafs who hasn't won a Stanley cup since 67. Choke-dians are only good in teasing others but can't do any better.. 1993 is more than a decade.. maybe it's the Roy curse. Tremblay purposely left Roy in the net to let him stew in the humilation. Well Tremblay.. somewhere we can hear Roy laughing after drinking from the Stanley cup in 1996.

  • It's tempting to think that if the RW hadn't score that many goals, that Patrick Roy wouldn't have been traded and the RW might have had an easier time against Colorado. But Patrick Roy and Tremblay had a lot of tension anyway and things were bound to happen.

  • shit happens, bad Offense, combined with bad D and a very talented red wings team is a recipe for disaster

  • @lcpmarketinggroup well said.

  • Supernova. Burn bright, then burn out hard.

  • LETS GO REDWINGS !!!!!

  • Colorado won that trade on Mike Keane alone.

  • And the Habs havent done jack shit since this game! They havent even won a Conference title since Roy left HAHA!

    GO RED WINGS!!

  • Canadiens saddest day. Best goalie vs worst GN abd Coach ever in Montreal.... Fuckers

  • tremblay was and is a bum. roy acted on emotion but im sure many of us (myself included) would have done the same thing that night.

  • Habs fans are the worst. What's wrong with them? Gotta love Roy though!

  • Really shitty fans lol.

  • my personal favortie Roy moment in my 17 years of loving hockey.... my Detroit Red Wings kicking the shit out of him 7-0 in the Western Conference final back in 2002 game 7. Go WINGS!

  • Well I think we know it's people from Montreal posting here.

  • crap 9:1 ,today i lose 12:1 crap (at end fight)

  • Roy was such a baby

  • @dhull111 no

  • @dhull111

Shut the fuck up. Roy has been deliberately humiliated by his coach. And humiliated by thousand of spectators. Doing what he did required pride and common sense, not babyness.

  • @Refragatio Roy was humiliated by his own coach and thousands of people in the stadium and across the world because Roy is a whimp. Roy is the Cindy Crosby of goaltenders.

  • @Refragatio I'm not a Patrick Roy fan but he got fucked over by Montreal this game. Badly. I would have requested for a trade if i were him too. Montreal hasnt won since, and Roy won another 2 cups. So i would say he got the last laugh. He's one of the greatest goaltenders of all time no doubt.

  • montreal gm was sooooo an idiot!!! he should have convince patrick to stay! wow!

  • what did you expect from the fans who boo'd the american national anthem. No class

  • Gonna say that I am a Stars fan. Roy and co. kicked my ass to end the Forum days. I've always had nothing but respect for Patrick Roy, hated him as an opponent but that its what you want as a goalie. Fast forward to the Colorado days, and there he is again! While my Stars disposed of the Avs in back to back game 7's, I'll always remember Pat for his glory days in Montreal, and the magic that he brought to the game! He will be an N.H.L coach one day, just has to be a little more composed!

  • @cockshe They may have defeated the Avs in '99 and 2000, but Colorado emilinated Dallas in 2004 and 2006, but this was after both teams had lost their elite status...

  • @coloradoavalanche19, can't argue with facts, and you got em'! Still, very good times for both teams to go that far on a consistent basis. Score 1 for the Avs so far with a 5-0 win, still 3 to go though! Lookk forward to some bragging rights in the not too distant future! Till then, good luck!

  • there are goalies who are on, and off. and when they're off, they are way off. Roy's record speaks for itself; if i was Roy, I'd have been ticked as he was. You don't play this way with the best goalie in the league.

  • I wonder how the fans at the front reacted when Roy went up to the team's owner.

  • L'un des jours les plus sombres de l'histoire de la ville de Montréal.

  • well I hate mario tremblay but he DID bring roy to colorado and that eventually helped Ray bourque win the cup so s'all good. Immature coach needs roy humiliated for ONE game and brings him 2 more cups. Not effective way to bring Roy down...

  • the fall of canadian... ;(

  • Rondald Corey,Rejean Houle, and Mario Tremblay completly fucked up a great hockey team.Luckily Bob Gainey showed up and fixed our team.

  • everyone make mistakes.

  • Why is montreal doing this?

  • It's crazy how the Red Wings actually helped the Avs by lighting up Roy like this

  • I'm a Leafs fan, & still remember this night; HNIC was updating this game & I couldn't believe that Roy was STILL in goal for the 2nd period( shoulda been pulled after the 1st ). Then, over the next few days, word leaked that Roy asked out of MTL. Still seems surreal that all of this happened.

Montreal fans are very passionate about their hockey, but can be rather overbearing at times also. Same with the MTL media. But it was MARIO TREMBLAY'S fault that Roy left the Habs.

  • The last day the Canadiens had any possible chance to win the cup one day... Now we're stuck with Price, the most overrated player in the NHL history (more than Alexandre Daigle, can you believe it?)

  • @mikejohnsonyeah Lmfao "to win the cup one day" we've had the cup 24 times 11 more then the leafs who are second. And it's not like we'll be stuck with fucking Price forever.

  • I still to this day stand behind Roy's attitude and his actions; I fully supported him at the time and always will. Fuck Roy? No, I don't think so - fuck Tremblay, Houle and Corey.

Patrick Roy - best goalie of all time!

  • Comment removed

  • wow.

how could they sent off the greatest goalie in the history of the NHL.

3 Conn Smythe trophies. Total of 4 Stanley cups.

    wow..

  • Price like Roy, is an arrogant prick. What drove him out more though was the coach Mario Tremblay. Every goalie has bad nights, 9 goals in 2 periods: of course the fans are going to be furious, frustrated, and baffled. wouldn't you be? The fact that Roy let in 9 goals is more of a message, that he stopped playing before he got replaced (arrogance), and the fact that mario didn't replace him after 3-4 goals in just being a prick (more arrogance). In price's case, he has a m8uch better coach [MAX]

  • @glaxko2

any fan who boos there goalie or sarcastically cheers him is a joke. Roy won the stanley cup in his rookie season and won again when the Canadians had no business even being in the playoffs. He single handedly won that second cup and everyone in montreal knew it. And then they go and treat him like this? Disgusting. The fact that they left him in that long? Disgusting Montreal didn't deserve the greatest and thats why he won the cup that same year with my Avs. Montreal You make me sick.

  • @Sky1Eagle1 Disgusting this, Disgusting that. Roy has been, and always will be, an asshole. His former coach and GM were also assholes. Roy hated Tremblay so he played like sh*t? who does that? tremblay let him play for all those goals? who does that? he was booed because he was acting like an asshole, thats a fact.

  • @glaxko2

Roy did not purposely play bad if u actually watch the game after goal 8 the announcers say not one of the goals was soft. Said they were all good goals. So nice try. Is Price an asshole cuz the fans are doing the same thing to him. Face it montreal fans are a disgrace and they will never get past the Roy curse:) Thanks for giving my team 2 free stanley cups... dumbass's

  • @Sky1Eagle1 oh please... one of the greatest goalies to ever play the game, second only to Tretiak letting in 8 goals in 1 game?? it doesn't take a genius to figure out he wasn't playing his best. This is the NHL, the N-H-L. the elite league of hockey. the organization that damn near all players want to be in. this isn't peewee or junior where players can get away with playing bad because of people booing. this is a job, you do it well or you get gone. Roy was pissed at the coach, not Montreal..

  • @Sky1Eagle1 Oh yeah, the 2 stanley cups you got, congrats. thats a huge achievement. Montreal has 24. so you don't get to brag. Not to mention Colorado can only get anywhere with Montreal's garbage. Not to mention the avalanche got nowhere in Qc city when they were the Nordiques. how about we give you Carey price, he'll play like sh*t, but maybe it'll make you feel better.

  • @glaxko2

Well thats 2 cups in 14 years...which is more then you've had in the last 14 years:) So i think bragging is appropriate, Since Colorado has been a team they have always been a better club then Montreal. We've missed the playoffs only twice. How many times have u missed in the last 14 years? The nordiques are not the Avs.They probably had the same ignorant fans you have. And I'm fine with Craig Anderson thanks. Take him over price every day of the week;) to bad u dumped halak. dumbasses

  • @Sky1Eagle1 shows what you know

  • @glaxko2 :)

  • @Sky1Eagle1 well considering that the Avalanche are a borrowed franchise from another City that formed the Core of their team in Quebec (with the exception of Roy) that won you your 2 Stanley Cup, you have had it easy. your Hockey scene in Denver had it easy in the begininng with instant success. Being a Montreal fan (which i am not) takes some dedication..being succesful 24 times over to much of nothing (nice run last year though) takes dedication. and i dont think supplanted franchises..

  • @Sky1Eagle1 ...deserve fans after they already had a fan base where they came from...all the citys and owners that welcomed bettmans so called "Bastard franchises" dont know or care to know how it feels to have your favorite sports team ripped away from you and completeley overhauled...Montreal is lucky to have thier team stay, and your lucky to have inherited someone else's. Well i got carried away dont mean to be an asshole but watching these makes me miss my Whalers more and more

  • @Sky1Eagle1 The french are known for being assholes, so this is no different

  • @ryan332007

Comme si il y avait pas de trou de cul anglophone ! Ferme donc te yeule criss de cave !

  • @ps7270 I'd expect no less from a useless french asshole

  • @Sky1Eagle1 im a habs fan and i gotta like this :P

  • @Sky1Eagle1 the roy curse wtf u talking about lol

  • @Sky1Eagle1 Patrick Roy All the way! he was a legend in the hockey World, And changed the Attitude brought into a hockey game, Forever.

  • First, Roy. Now, Halak. Montreal is run by idiots, and the fans are even worse. Can't believe they would treat Roy like that after everything he had done for the organization.

  • fucking idiot coach ! you dont keep a goalie in net who allows in 9 goals.

  • typical for Canadian fans

  • All goalies have bad games just like any other player on the ice. Everyone has their days.. I blame the coach for leaving Roy on the ice for far too long.Should've took him off after 4-5 goals. Only then the fans didn't have to see that. I felt and still feel sorry for Roy. To me he'll be the best Montreal goalie ever. We'll still have to see the Price can do. He already took the Habs to 1st place in the East. Still has alot to offer. GO HABS GO!!

  • Montreal are geeting good for letting their best goalies go away; Roy, Huet and now Halak!

  • did he blow the game?

  • Thank you Montreal!

    Sincerely,

    Denver

PS: We still owe you two cups :)

  • roy should hae just started letting eery shot go in lol

  • the coach thought that roy was smug so he wanted to teach him a lesson

  • @spoogerification some1 got taught a lesson. but it wasn't roy;)

  • stupid frogs.

  • @wholewheatbagel I look at your page... full of americans shitting on canada because of your stupidity and you come here to say "stupid frogs". ... typical stupid redneck!

  • @Jo3mD. "full of americans shitting on canada"

i believe its called a discussion. perhaps you arent familiar. although i cant help it if people "shit on canada" and handle a dialectic discussion

    stupid redneck!

ready for this...im half french canadian so my neck cant be red, brown maybe. self loathing worked for phil collins so i decided to give it a go.

    way to go dumb dumb.

  • @wholewheatbagel Okay. So "stupid rednecks" like i called them use to call french canadians "frogs". that i know. Then you say "stupid frogs" refereing to your half french canadian roots... because you were talking about the french canadians in general, right?

Well...kinda feel bad for you. Split between two cultures with one attacking the other...

No wonder why you have all these discussions about national identity on youtube lol

  • @Jo3mD. "discussions about national identity"

you say that like its a bad thing.

    "refereing"

as in a hockey game or a soccer match?

  • @wholewheatbagel tennis.

  • Everyone is human. Roy is not gonna be perfect. Habs would of still had him if his coach pulled him after the 4th goal.

  • Montreal fans suck balls

  • Thanks Montreal for trading us Roy....And thanks Detroit for lighting up Roy to join us :)

  • The Habs fans made it even worst for Roy, that cheer was NOT something a true fan would do.

  • Here what i think roy said to the team president that night

I'm never playin for this FUCKIN TEAM AGAIN!!!

That what i think i said lol

  • The Montreal Canadiens have, without question, the best fans in the world. Roy did not leave because of the fans reaction. The fans demand excellence from all players at all times and they keep the pressure on. That is one of the main reasons that the franchise is so successful. Roy left because of Mario Tremblay's coaching style and what coach would leave a goalie like Roy in nets after even 6 or 7 goals. This episode was one of the worst examples of poor management in the history of the NHL.

  • @hotshotsido the trade was even worse, a team with sakic, foresberg, kamensky, foote, lemieux, and you trade for thibault and rucinsky? wtf dude

  • @hotshotsido. except for the rioting after a win. but of course those werent "true fans" just a bunch of drunks in scabs jerseys?

  • some say this was staged and he already wanted out of MOntreal

  • HAHAHA canadiens suck so much ass even Roy left u. he hated u so much. fuck canadiens. go bruins!

  • the best thing Roy ever did, leave that crappy team, Montreal sucks,

kudos for Roy to show Montreal whats up winning 2 cups for Colorado

  • didn't won win 2 Cups with the habs also?

  • Colorado should thank Detroit for lighting up Roy that night. Without Roy Colorado would have never won a cup.

  • @lemond234 colorado should probably thank the fans for screwin with roy on an off night or roy might have kept playing with the canadiens

  • @spritle43

and Trembaly for not pulling him before Detroit scored 9 goals on him.

  • @lemond234 yeah what kind of coach does taht to the best goalie in the world. it wasn't the fans he was pissed off at it was the coach.

  • @lemond234 True :D

  • @lemond234 I don't think you realize how much of a powerhouse Colorado was in 96

  • @ryan332007 colorado had a hell of a team but it still takes a good goalie and they got hand on one of the best in history.

  • @ryan332007

They were pretty good, but no way they would have on 2 cups without Roy.

  • I <3 u Dan

  • Comment removed

  • Poor Pat Jablonski, imagine how he felt after sitting on the bench watching Roy give up 9 goals before he was allowed to enter the game.
