Christians and Muslims take up a little over half the religious population (53%).
As well, for the record you're right- only approx. 2% of the world population are atheists, with 12-15% beyond that as non-religious/Indifferent.
Who knows where we'll be in 10 years, but that's as it stands now.

Your sin has made you imperfect and therefore it is deserving of death. Whereas if you confess your sin and trust in the Lord He is faithful and just to forgive our sins. @Gossettc68 EVERYTHING... the amount of times ive trusted God in my life to come through, its really i unbelievable... from my birth to today, its a miracle.. But what truly is overwhelming is the holy spirit!! I dunno if u are familiar with the concept of God in 3 forms as in the father, son and holy spirit Gossettc, but the spirit is really more present sometimes and especially in worship sometimes, Gods spirit is soo... OVERWHELMING!!! But it comes even more with spiritual growth..howboutyou?

So why would you choose to believe in something that gets you no where, over something that can offer you hope?? Say what you believe ends up being right, then what? Nothing. Say God is actually real, then what? you have the opportunity to obtain eternal life. So from a logical point of view, which is the more beneficial option?

I find it funny, when a die hard Christian speaks of Hell. A rapist can go to heaven by believing in God and Jesus, his only begoten son, even though he leaves his victim emotionally scarred and broken. But a good man, who does everything for others, will be shunned to the deepest parts of hell to burn for all eternity in brimstone and flames because he QUESTIONED his purpose and that of God. If there is a God, he'll understand, and if he doesn't, he's not God, and I have nothing to fear.

@TheYounghector False. A rapist will NEVER enter the gates of heaven. Let me explain: the only way to get to heaven is by having faith in Jesus Christ, as u know. However, if someone claims to know Christ, yet continue to sin without ever growing, he has never known Christ. Faith without growth isnt faith at all. But if someone truly repents, he can be saved and this EX-rapist can receive grace. This new person is born again by the holy blood of Jesus and may enter the presence of God forever!!

They burned everything in their wake, killed, raped and pillaged in the name of God. Thousands upon thousands of dead. Our ancestors. Will they meet with God after such an endeavor I wonder? They who believed in their duty? I can never believe a faith with so much blood on their hands.

@Jsubban I believe in death after life, in love after sex and in cream after shave. I have hard evidence and actual proof of all those things, so believing in them is rational. Life is too short to be focused on what "might be true". Each time you pray to your god about you going to heaven think of all the other gods and deities that people worship. If there is a god and there is heaven, there is <1% chance it is specifically your god. Have a non wasteful life.
