I don't get why he is always stereotyped into the cowboy look. He isn't a cowboy, the book shows gunslingers as Knights with revolvers instead of swords, with great lineages and coming from grand cities and cultures.

i liked the series up untill part 5, it kind of sucked ass, then half way through 6 i gave up,, but what happened at the end?

that cowboy-roland guy reached the tower, defeated this red king(his eyes remained) but he didnt had this horn, so when he entered the tower and went looking into rooms. one room said "your past" or something. anyways, he was sucked through this door, memory deleted and he was taken back in time to when he chased the man-in-black through the desert, right to when the 1st novel began,to redo everything again. this time he may have the horn and really end his quest.

yeah. if you wish more detailed info, go to the english version of the wikipedia encyclopedia page search for "the dark tower" and below the "plot" u ll find a link to the detailed plots of each book. "the dark tower" being the last book of the series.

main lession of it all was prolly, that this roland had to do his quest several times untill he understood the value of life n stuff and now, he finaly has a chance to really complete the quest, but here the series ends.

Great great series, one of my favs. It has it's shortcomings, but considering the span of time it was written over, it turned out amazing.

I liked Dark Tower the most, Song of Susanah the least, and I think Wizard and Glass was probably my biggest surprise (I didn't think I'd like it, but I was proven wrong)

The story is pretty out there...it's a mix of a cliche Western, fantasy epic, and sci-fi thriller, with a bit of horror sprinkled on top. It's basically the story of Roland of Gilead's quest for the Dark Tower, the center of all existance, and what happens along the way.

You know, what if the Dark Tower series becomes a mythos of it's own, and I mean like that of the Cthulhu mythos that was started by H.P. Lovecraft. What I mean is that like the Cthulhu mythos having a vast variety of writers (one of them Stephen King) what if there was a vast variety of writers for the Dark Tower? I mean, I sometimes think of doing something like that, but at the same time I wonder if it's a bad idea doing that.

Stephen King does state he doesn't like the ending much himself, but it is the RIGHT ending, and I agree. Anything else, like Roland meeting the Godhead as he set out to do, and the Man in Black's promises coming true, would have been the cliche - unexciting, expected and lackluster.

Meanwhile, this video is great. I like the way it tells Roland's story. The song is very fitting.
